Your Music

Just out of curiosity, what music do you all listen to?  Personally, I like many 80's pieces, especially heavy metal songs.  I've also taken interest in the artist Utada Hikaru.  Your turn, what do you like?

I'd say the majority of my music would fall under the Alternative/Metal and everything in between category, although I do throw in some other stuff outside of this category if I like it.

Some of the bands on my playlist:
At The Drive-In
The Mars Volta
Pulse Ultra
Alexisonfire
Cold
Lacuna Coil
Billy Talent

Other stuff:
Avril Lavigne
Immortal Technique
Swollen Members
Eve 6

I could copy my playlist, but I won't. It's 113 songs, and I'm POSITIVE no one would give two ***** as to what's exactly on it.

Hmmmm....that's a tough one because I'm really picky on my music. I cant stand rap, country, jazz, or pop. I go for rock, heavy metal, stuff like that. Here's my top list at the moment:

Nirvana
KoRn
Marylin Manson
The Verve
Skillet
Oranges and Lemons

Yup, thats it. Currently, I'm madly in love with Nirvana, and have been for a very long time now. I used to love Linkin Park but that love has worn off a long time ago.

My music is old school...very old school!

You guys think that 80's music is old school, well I'm in to way older school than that. Try 1800s old school! Ohhh yeah baby!

My favorite music is of the Classical genre because there is rarely anyone speaking/singing and because there is rarely any repetition of a chorus, like with today's pop, rap, and rock. (except for Bolero, obviously)

I also like Jazz!

What´s so good in korn? Even limp bizkit is better!
But yes, rap is ...
Almost every band playing in mtv sucks IMO, there are some exceptions however. And one thing I hate too is people who listen certain music just because it´s on MTV and everybody else is listening to it.

I have one korn cd (follow the leader, I think), but I don´t very often listen that nor find it so enjoyable music. But after all, I hate many american bands (although some are good), but that´s because I´ve born here in Scandinavia where the good music comes from...

I didn´t call you american.
But that´s what I wondered: how comes it that you like korn, when you (should) know there´s much better music around..
But I stop it here, no point in arguing about opinions.. Of course you can like whatever you like.

Well thank you. That made my day.

Anyways, yes KoRn owns, but Nirvana is so much better.

Nirvana's best songs are probably Lake of Fire, and You know you're right.

Okay, for u people that like Rammstein, I'm sorry....but I think they're hilarious! Like, when I'm in a bad mood, I'll turn on their angry german killer songs and I'll die laughing. Dude! I only understand like 3 words and it makes no sense. You just hear this low shluttering dark devil voice in the backround with kick butt guitars. It's crazy!

I listen mostly to music that drift towards the alternative side, but can listen to pretty much anything. Here's a sample from my library of what I find good right now or things that I've liked in the past. Some of these groups I can't stand really, like Rednex, but happen to like that cover version more than the original. Ultima Thule are racist and even if a few songs in theory sound ok I can't listen to texts like that, but that version of an old folk song works. For some reason a lot of the songs seem to be covers, dunno why. (Tried to pick popular songs from the artists for a better chance of recognition, even if I don't in every case think it's their best song, but it is in at least half of them. Having to pick the best song from every artist would take too long to decide since that often changes over time)

16 Horsepower - Black Soul Choir
Backyard Babies - Minus Celsius
Bertine Zetlitz - Girl Like You
Björk - Bachelorette
Black Eyed Peas - Shut Up
Black Heart Procession - Release My Heart
Blackmores Night - Under a Violet Moon
Blues Brothers - Ghost Riders in the Sky
Calexico - Sunken Waltz
Cardigans - For What it's Worth
Caroline af Ugglas - Lost Inside
Connels - 74-75
Cranberries - Salvation
CTHD soundtrack - Moon
Days in Grief - All Inside
Death in June - Rose Clouds of Holocaust
Deine Lakaien - Love Me to the End
Depeche Mode - It's No Good
Diary of Dreams - Blind in Darkness
Docenterna - Bakom Mina Solglasögon
Emiliana Torrini - If You Go Away
Eminem - The World on My Shoulders
Franz Ferdinand - Matinee
Garbage - Push It
George Michael - Careless Whisper
Hardcore Superstar - Liberation
Imperiet - Märk Hur Vår Skugga
Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark
Jose Gonzales - Heartbeats
Kent - Kräm
Knife, the - Pass This On
Kylie Minogue - In Your Eyes
Lacrimosa - The Phantom of the Opera
Lauryn Hill - Can't Take My Eyes Off of You
Lisa Miskovsky - Sing to Me
Live - I Love You Like Water
Lou Reed - Perfect Day
Lush - Ciao!
Manowar - The Crown and the Ring
Marianne Faithful - Gloomy Sunday
Marilyn Manson - Tainted Love
Martin Grech - Open Heart Zoo
Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls
Michael Jackson - Billy Jean
Midnight Choir - Mercy of Maria
Moonspell - Firewalking
Moulin Rouge song - El Tango de Roxanne
Nanne Grönvall - Evig Kärlek
Neko Case & Her Boyfriends - Furnace Room Lullaby
Nick Cave - Where the Wild Roses Grow
Nightwish - Know Why the Nightinggale Sings
Niklas Strömstedt - Förlorad Igen
Nina Rochelle - Jag Hatar Att De E Så
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
No Doubt - Don't Speak
Oasis - Wonderwall
One More Time - Den Vilda
Paradise Lost - As I Die
Pearly Gates - Dark River
PJ Harvey - C'mon Billy
Placebo - Every Me and Every You
Queens of the Stone Age - Go With the Flow
Radiohead - Karma Police
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Other Side
Rednex - Wish You Were Here
Rem - The One I Love
Rhapsody - Eternal Glory
Ricky Martin - She Bangs
Robbie Williams - The Road to Mandalay
Rolling Stones - Paint it Black
Seal - Kiss From a Rose
Sense Field - Save Yourself
Shania Twain - Ka-ching!
Shirley Clamp - Min Kärlek
Sins of Thy Beloved - Until the Dark
Skunk Anansie - Weak
Smog - Bathysphere
Sounds, the - Living in America
Suede - Indian Strings
Supertramp - The Logical Song
Tea Party, the - Walking Wounded
Theatre of Tragedy - Lorelei
Thåström - Alla Vill Till Himlen
Travis - Sing
Turtles - Happy Together
Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses
Ultima Thule - Uti Vår Hage
Urge Overkill - Girl, You'll be a Woman Soon
Uno Svenningsson - Under Ytan
Uriah Heep - Lady in Black
Verve, the - The Drugs don't Work
Wannadies - Shorty
Weeping Willows - Blue and Alone
White Stripes, the - Fell in Love With a Girl
Within Temptation - Mother Earth
Wolfsheim - Touch

If I was gonna pick some of the artists above that I listen to more often and not just some single songs it would be 16 Horsepower, Björk, Cranberries, Emiliana Torrini, Kent, The Knife, Nick Cave, Queens of the Stoneage, Weeping Willows and Wolfsheim. Maybe Franz Ferdinand too, but not sure on how long he will last. Used to listen to Suede a lot, but not right now.  Their last record is probably my worst buy ever and one of the reasons I don't buy much music these days.

I hate listening to Nirvana.

Comparison made?

But that doesn't mean that other people can't listen to Nirvana, though.
