Two penalties have been applied to RSF in this thread for his creation and use of the accounts Triangular and Boogerman.
IP checks have matched him to both names - and even though he was confronted about this - he opted to deny it rather than admit to them.
As his posts here show, he was in full understanding of the multi-username policy and chose to ignore it.

I guess this means I'll have to come up with a 2nd account once I become moderator.
And with regard to my stories, that Lord_Woock mentioned, I encouraged spammers to post there as a means to keep posting my stories. LoL, I may be a bit late in responding here....3 or 4 years late???

I am going to appologize up front for this. First because it is none of my business who has how many accounts. Second because some people will probably not like what I am going to say.
MODS and second accounts. Not only do I think they should have them, but I think they are good things. A MOD should be neutral as much as possible in things. Not that they should not have opinons as MODS, but when they are using the MOD accounts they should try not to take sides. This is where the second account comes in, when they have something they have to say that would be considered taking sides. This is their personal account, and should not be tied with their Moderator duties whatsoever. Clearing up spam and enforcing the CoC is one thing, silencing people who disagree with them in politics or such is another.
As for other people. Except for as a way of continuing a story (do to the posting rules) there should have to be a really good reason to have a second account. There is nothing I have to say, that I would not say in my main account. Now sure, I would love to keep my H6: Clash of Dragons alive, and the three/four posts in a row rules hinder that, but since there is not any real interest in it having a second account just to keep it alive is pointless. If you are unwilling to say it on your main account...then it is probably not worth saying. Just my opinon.
Again, I am not against people having a second account. I just think that such accounts should be for a good reason, not just spam. Good thing it is not my decision to make huh?  .

I dont think you understand on some points.
Yea i agree that having a second account just so you can talk smack is crap.
There is alot of reasons why people used second accounts in the past & now.
Games,it's fun sometimes.
People trying to figure it out etc.
There are many reasons, personally i dont see why not.
Besides it taking up room in the database.
Mods can read the IP's. If they do not want to know who is who then so be it.
Now with people like Wesley proved some points but there are many protenders in the net. Most by using fake accounts or even thier sex which i think is pretty ignorant.
Point is there are more reasons then just hiding who you are with second accounts.
Some ways i think it's fun & other ways i think it's crap.

And that is why it is good that people are entitled to their own opinons  . Just because we don't agree in all things, doesn't mean anything. If everybody thought alike it would be quite boring. It's not really important to me. Each their own, and it's the MODS concern not mine. I may have an opinon on the matter, but it's nothing written in stone.

I do have a question, maybe because of my notoriously short attention span. I could have sworn that in the CoC it mentioned that if you create a second account that your first would be penalized. Did I read it wrong, remember it wrong, or what?

Yup the rule came into effect & you could get a penalty for it.
In the rules you can not have a second account.
People still do it though.
I dont think some mods care as much as others.

That is if you get caught using it that is.
I have not done it in yrs but there have also been many problems with bad people in here hacking & pretenders who like to disrespect others. Especially people who do not deserve to be disrespected.
Basically like you said. People who say stuff that they usually would not in thier real account. Pretty chicken S if you ask me.

One thing I do believe, however, is that rules should apply to everybody equally. Despite me believing that it should be fine for MODS to have a second account, and that others should have a good reason, the rule should be universal. Either both can, or neither. I dislike preferential treatment. For instance : At work there is a area right in front of the door that people use to park if they were just running in for a moment (to sign in, because they forgot something while leaving work, whatever). The management issued a rule saying that any vehicle parked there would be towed, no exception. Three days later a car was parked out there when I was coming through to work. I had security call the tow service. Of course it was the President of the companies' car. He got really upset of course. I got written up for it, but told him to his face I'd do it again if I seen the vehicle there.

Yea that sucks.
When it coems to doing business, you can expect certain people to get the special treatment.
People care about money more then alot of things.
I know you did your job & you would do it again.
Sometimes you got to also let the blind eye look into the cup.
Of course there are points & standards.You did the right thing. You did your job.It's just sometimes rules are broken for certain people.
Remember what the wise man says. Just because there is fire in the attic. it does not mean there is snow in the river.
