Around The Calendar - new map by UT
Cristmas around so I have a gift for you: a new map called
AROUND THE CALENDAR
You can download this scenario from my homepage http://urtur.webpark.pl/eng.html. I hope it will be available on other sites soon.
This is a large map with an underground layer. The player tries to fix the time itself, for something wrong happens to it. The main hero called Year is supported by his four daughters - the seasons. And among the enemies the most important is... time! A year for finishing this scenario is not much!
There are 20 quest huts on the map, some of them giving more than one task to a player. All the main heroes have unique special abilities.
Warning! This map has a lot of scripts susceptible to the difficulty level setting. The general nastiness of this scenario grows rapidly with this setting. Playing as a 'Novice' should not be hard, but every step up means much less positive events and much more powerups for your enemies. Just to warn you, I've set the map difficulty switch to 'Impossible'. But it is possible to win this scenario, at least at lower player skill settings. Think twice before you choose the difficulty level!
To sum up:
Novice: You have two enemies: time and yourself. AI players should not be any problem here.
Intermediate: For adventurers. This setting is recommended for players who want to explore the whole map, to try every quest etc.
Hard: For fighters. I recommend this setting for the players who like battles. Caution: you will probably have not enough time to visit every location on the map.
Expert: Are you sure you want to set the difficulty that high? I don't recommend it unless you are an extremely tough player.
Champion: I am not responsible for whatever happens. This setting is not, I repeat NOT, recommended.
Have a nice play!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have the winner!
Seriously though, the screenshot looks fantastic! It's a pity I never bothered to find a copy of Winds of War...

I think now when H4 is re-issued finding a copy would not be hard. WoW is *really* a good expansion!
In fact when a genuine copy is unavailable you can look for a pirate (with a intention of biuying original version ASAP of course).

I have just uploaded my new map to MapHaven and I got one problem: I've set the size to Medium (and it should be Large) and I cannot change it now. :-( Please make the correction when you are online as an admin. Thanks!

But WoW was not re-issued, was it?

I know, but it was impossible to find it in Serbia, even a pirate copy. (By the way, all our copies are illegal ).
Oh, I think Dragonsis is getting married so she may be too busy right now. I should know - I did it three months ago!

Well in Poland the whole H4 with both add-ons is reissued.
And yes, getting married makes a person busy. I got married in 1995 - it's 9 years! Wow...

I've been playing this map (on Novice) and have gotten stuck near the end. Hopefully someone can give me a hint to let me finish. What has happened is I have gone down through a two-way portal to an underground spot in the south east corner of the map. There is a quest gate there I cannot get through. It says something like " only Year and his four daughters may pass". I have exactly that in my party and still cannot get through. I get a message saying that something holds spring back. Looking at the script it seems that a variable named "swiosna" is still FALSE.
Obviously, there is something that the daughters need to do to switch that variable (and similar other ones for each) to TRUE so that I can pass. I cannot figure out what it is.
Can anyone help me?

Eventually, I managed to get the answer from the time observery near home base. Once it gave me the hint, it was obvious what I needed to do.
This is one of the best maps I have played. It is the only map I have played at novice level -- on recommendation of the notes with it. Even at that level, it was tough. I might go back and give it a try at intermediate or advanced.
