I want Erathia BACK!

The new created world is sooo confusing. Why do they need a new world erathia is perfect we have tulerian forests, Steadwick, Av'lee we get used to these places everyname reminds us something. What would you feel when you see your hero in middle of a place called xxx for the first time and you have no idea what creatures lurk in these forests. I hope you understand me.

Farewell..

Erathia was destroyed due to the new storyline produced in h4. IMO it won't be back, whatever-your-name-is, because the storyline must go on and change itself.

BTW it is usual. How many games have you seen whose newer parts, not expansions or add-ons (Homm1 -> homm2 -> homm3...) have the same land, same stuff?

I know none... mostly new games bring new lands and storyline (gothic 1-> gothic 2; homm3 -> homm4; kotor 1 -> kotor 2)... it would simply be boring and unnatural IMHO.

Homm2 took place at Enroth, not Erathia. Only 2 NWC's products took place at Erathia - MM7 and Homm3, I think that new world leave place for improvement, since in old world nothing new could have been created...

Why just Erathia? Bring back Enroth, and also that land in MM8!

Heck, just bring back the old world

I know what you mean. When stuff like this happens on television, one or two characters get killed off. But in our case, everyone and the whole dang planet got killed off! Not a good sign, their thinking. They have some time to work on this new product; what happens with it will determine whether we forgive them or not.

And just a stupid thought: the Erathian/Enrothian dragons could've flown off to safety had they known about the whole "explosion" thing. Or perhaps they didn't need to; they're immune to Armageddon after all.

I don't see why Tarnum wouldn't have done so. I can totally imagine that.

You know, considering the audacity of some of the Might and Magic plotlines (invading space devils? interplanetary warp gates? swords and lasers?), it wouldn't be totally inconceivable for something to recreate Enroth/Erathia. Time travel may be in our future for MMX!

Enter the series' first and best known necromancer - Sandro.

Sandro begins to find this weird new land and his funky gold hat annoying, so and decides to bring back the old times. He revives Tarnum, seeing as he is the only one suitable for the job of stopping the swords from clashing. One of the campaigns could be about Sandro gathering the crew to get things back to normal (not just Tarnum is required - someone has to make that time rift thingy, no?)

Yeah! i like that idea about Sandro bringing back Tarnum and a "crew". Of course there has to be someone trying to stop him and others doing their thing to get a piece of the pie etc. Brilliant! And when the crew has done its job, Homm 6 will take place in Erathia or whatever that world is called, and all is back to normal and pure bliss =)

Hmmm i just thought of someting. It would be impossible to go back in time to save the old world. It would create a well known paradox.

The grandfather paradox:

Suppose you travelled back in time and killed your biological grandfather before he met your grandmother. Then you would never have been conceived, so you could not have travelled back in time after all. Now did you travel back or not? The grandfather paradox has been used to argue that backwards time travel must be impossible.

The saving the world paradox is a version of the one above:

You cant go back in time from Axeoth and save the other world. Because if u do, you would never go back through time to save the world.....this is because you do not exist in the same way anymore. And you are probably not on Axeoth either....

If the present time you are a part of gets changed in the past, you get changed as well. So Erathia is forever doomed.

I always heted erathia, the storyline there was always terrible, plus all it's games were too hard and too boring.
I liked Enroth, it was nifty, but I disagree that Erathia should just turn up, that's a really bad way of introducing Erathia and saying "It only seemed like it incinerated", a better idea would be finding a NEW country and naming it "New Enroth" or "New Erathia", I think that this idea has shown up before.
Nobody I know ever enjoyed even goofing off in Erathia, because you couldn't, so why bring back all the pain and suffering?

Explain what you mean by goofing off. And what does pain and suffering have to do with it? Wasn't Enroth involved in bloody conflicts as well? I enjoyed Erathia; however a "storyline" would be difficult since there were around eight or nine different allegiances doing things all at the same time. If you're talking about the campaigns, I think they did a reasonable job trying to convey a tactical story.

I didn't do much "goofing off" in either of the games, whatever that means, so I really don't know what to say about that.

Well Enroth and Erathia were 2 continents on the same planet. I'm sure that Enroth is toast as well.
Give Axeoth a chance!
At least the storylines HAVE to better, they certainly couldn't get worse!

actually i have some other thing in my mind

a detailed map and an explanation booklet will do just fine about lands and its creatures(also new erathia is a great idea i think)

But...

the HOMM and M&M crew has to work on creatures skins, for example the orcs in HOMM4. When i first saw them i thought they were pigmen . The Orcs are far more different then other 3DO games which follows same storyline. And the vampires ain't they funny in HOMM4? Look at them and compare them with the vampires in HOMM3.They seem to be coming from a dracula movie or the book. I bet i can design a better vampire than HOMM4 vamps. (Just look at Vampire-Masquarade series especially nosferatu section).

So what i am suggesting is the creatures ,which are in the older games, should be same looking ar atleast look a like maybe an improved version.

And most importantly i think an experience based creature upgrade should be available like in Disciples series.(i just remember i play the disciples just to see the ultimate upgraded creature)

Please comment on my thoughts, i ll be reading maybe THEY will be reading

Thank you

I can feel the flames against my neck...

I've played Disciples as well, but I think that if that style of gameplay is implimented into Heroes 5, then we'll end up with a product even more distanced from the Heroes formula. Heroes 4 is the stand-out example of massive change as it is; to change the system even more is basically asking for a non-Heroes game but calling it Heroes just for the heck of it. Soon enough, the upcoming games will have morphed so much that the games will have lost the traditional Heroes look and feel almost entirely. It's a terrible thought!

Final digressive thought: It might only be me, but the name Axeoth is too big a play on spelling from Warcraft's Azeroth. It's just too close for my comfort.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't HoMM have a tradition for "world changes" such as this?

I seem to remember that the background story for HoMM(1), was that you were a count, that travelled through this mountain cave, and entered this new land, where you built yourself a brand new kingdom?

All this whining about bringing back Erathia (the world is Antagriach, btw; Erathia is just a country... So this statement; "Bring back Erathia" makes as much sense as "Bring back Tatalia") is boring, it's done too many times.
Done's done, and all that. What would be neat, was if they moved the action in H5 to yet another continent, somewhere a little off the coast of Axeoth.

"Repetition is failure", to quote the band JR Ewing...
