Console War!!!!
So here it is again! The classical war! The epic battle!
XBOX vs PS2!!!!!!!
I dont know why some of u nerdzz have never brought up this topic!? Every game related online forum have had some serious battles on this topic but you guys seem to have ignored consoles completely!
XBOX!: 733 MHZ processor. Room for 4 controllers and an intern 8 Gbyte HDD! Plus lets not forget the games. Halo2, Doom 3 and Half-life 2 are available for XBOX while none of them can be bought for PS2!
PS2!: A weak 233MHZ processor and only room for 2 controllers no HDD and the memorycards are fairly expensive!
The new small PS2 though is kinda nice. The only games you can get for PS2 that isnt available for XBOX is (AFAIK, correct me if im wrong plz!) I-Ninja, Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Dakster and ratchet and Clank! Not really smth you wanna compare to Halo and Half-Life!
So ppl place ur bets! As you can see im favorizing the XBOX over the aging PS2 but if you have more info on any of theese two console then plz share them!

Consoles all suck the dust of computers.
I haven't played console games since the days of the good ole' original Nintendo.

umm lol. Ever heard of Final Fantasy? Kingdom Hearts? Dragon Ball(okay, maybe it's good or not, I don't know  )? I could ramble off games that only came out on PS2, but it's not worth my time. The point is, that's just plainly not true.
PS2 is better IMHO anyway, the Xbox has very little to offer except M games, and I prefer games that I can play within the general vicinity of my family

Hm. XBox is Micro$oft so that's a minus. But if I wanted to install a Linux server on it I'd end up having a better one (is it even possible to get Linux on a PS2?)

I do believe its possible to install linux on a PS2, there is also a harddrive with LEGAL software to download games onto it. in fact you dont even need to mod it or anything, just buy HDloader http://www.hdloader.net/
as for X-Box personnaly I find the control 2 big, and all the buttons confuse me mind you i dont own one and once i get used to it I would probably like it.
Generally I play my PS2 because I like the Final Fantasy games, and kingdom hearts :S I heard this before. PS2 has tons of RPG's and X-Box has next to none. I bought a 4 player adapter for like 9.99 and if I wanted I could buy a second one to allow 8 players  in one game, which in case you havent noticed is double the X-Box (bet you feel stupid saying X-Box was stronger for that )
During Parties though (when most of my Gaming is done) there is nothing quite like gettin drunk out of your mind and playing Mario Party or Wario Ware!!! on the Gamecube, not to mention if someone destroys your system somehow its like 80$ to replace (Canadian)
Also the Gamecube is great for nice short games when you cant sacrifice 60 hours (straight) on a game. so I voted for my GameCube
in brief

No i dont feel stupid for sayin that! here in DK an XBOX is about 10 bucks cheaper than a PS2 so actually it gets 20 bucks cheaper if u wanna have a 4 player adapter for your PS! The XBOX has XBOX Live service while PS2 have......well i dunno what they call it! The XBOX also have cable connecion which the PS2 again doesnt have and yes it is very poorly made that you have to buy the DVD remote to watch DVD's on it! The XBOX can playback WMA files (Like it makes a difference ) And yes Halo1 - Half-Life - and Doom 3 is cooler on comp, but at the time being its not sure if Bungie will release Halo 2 for Comp. And lets not forget about MM3, CS(Again much better on comp) and NFSU 1 & 2 (Which isnt better on comp at all!)
And no IYY i doubt that you can install Linux on either of the consoles and if ya could none of the games would be compatible with it so i guess itd be kinda boring

Alright, I like PS2 better because of Final Fantasy and Crash Bandicoot (these are some of may favorite games amongst others)...
Also, you can have up to eight controllers on the PS2 (I have four, and yes there are eight player games), you just need a multitap...
Plus you can play PSone games on the PS2 which I think is awesome...
And you can play music, DVDs, and hook it up to the internet (yes I know the Xbox can to, but I'm just saying)...
I'm probably forgetting some things like how I like the controllors on the PS so much better...

hmmmm.
I like XBOX because I find the controls easier to use.
I do like the Final Fantasy series, but I like Halo even more.
All my friends and I have XBOX's and the ones that have PS2 only play sport games which I hate so for me the decision is easy.

I agree Conan... I hate sports games and I probably could get use to those controllers (But I've been hooked on PS for so long)
They all have their ups and downs...

Kingdom Hearts is a game that Square Enix and Disney worked on together. It has a very FF-based storyline (complex, long, etc.) with cameos by Disney and FF characters alike (woot, Cloud and Sephiroth! The next one even has Auron, maybe Yuna! ). Overall, it's like a intoduction to Final Fantasy if you're not sure you want to play such a complex RPG as FF, play KH instead. Then you can decide if you want to play FF.

Actually the controllers arent that bad! Yes i know they are very big but im considering that as an advantage. The triggers at the back is perfect for both Racing and FPS though maybe not so effective for sports games! The PS2 controller is fairly small and i think it is to weak. Everyone i know that have had a PS for some time have broken their controllers in their uncontrollable rage!

LOL! just read on an internet forum! It is said to take place 2 years ago!
A guy comes home from work. He finds his wife in the bed with some other guy. The first dude gets his sons gun -which were a gangmember- and shots the other guy twice. He accidentally hits the familys XBOX behind the bed. The forensic rapport states smth like the following. "The exit wounds of the victim were in perfect line with the familys video game console. The console was hit once down the middle but still apears to be functioning."
I dont believe this story myself and i dont expect you to but still kinda of a funny story! And it perfectly proves the XBOXs high quality and superiority!

A quote from Gamefaqs' article: "Kingdom Hearts is still great, largely because it successfully captures the spirit of both Square and Disney in a single game. The way it pulls this off can't be described as easily as it can be experienced, so if you find the idea the least bit intriguing and are willing to put up with a few shortcomings in the gameplay, then you should give Kingdom Hearts a try. Like the Disney cartoons that inspired the game, it can be recommended to pretty much anybody."
Also, try http://www.kh-2.net, http://www.kingdomhearts2.net, and many other sites for KH stuff... you can also find a story overview at http://kh-2.net/?x=kh/story, but that kinda spoils it, KH has a really good story... also check my previous post. Plus, there's a sequel coming out in September, and a kind of "Kingdom Hearts 1.5" came out recently on GBA. All in all, a great game that's definitely worth buying.

Untrue. I read very good and simple instructions of converting an X-box into a linux server, and it's possible to allow it to play all old games unless it is the hardware mod that you're doing.

PS2 has San Andreas...
XBOX's break all the time. I can name at least 4 friends of mine who have had their XBOX's broken. They are just so fragile.
Plus we all love giving money to Microsoft...

San Andreas is comin for XBOX this year and i think that PS2 - especially the new one- is a hole lot more fragile then the XBOX! Actually it says in the owners manual that you should be careful where to place it cause if it falls down on a baby or a dog it might kill them

if you look quickly your gonna notice the GC is winning go underdog go!
I dont know if its a good thing that your XBOX can kill your family :S they want you to leave it on the floor were the dog could piss on it or you could trip over it and die :S
ill give you the cables are longer on the X-Box then the PS2 and I think (not sure) but its easy to extend a cable on X-Box.
my ps2 sits 2 close to my big screen and so i need to sit to close because of it.
