What has happened to Glade?

Now before you read this, let me tell you that I am guilty of this as well.

But it seems that many people haven't returned to posting in Glade since Christmas.
I too was around less during holiday season due to less internet access and keeping on top of the Mod duties and didn't have much time left for posting.

Have people lost interest in RP's? Or have people just lost interest in Glade's RP's.

What can we do to combat this.

I for one, will return to posting in the Axis and try and breathe new life into Glade's only Sci-Fi RP.
As for the other threads I'm active in - I have done all I can do short of writing people's posts for them. I can't continue with those characters until I get more input from the other posters.

Come on guys - this place used to be one of the busiest forums in the place. Let's make it that way again!!

Hey now! I posted after seeing your post in HotG! As for LHW...all that Forsaken junk has made me lose all interest in that thread. Perhaps when it's finally all over I may return and lead my army of angels to world conquest

Well I've already decided that I'm not going to put anymore effort into reviving threads anymore. I'm tired of seeing my efforts yield short-lived activity. So if a thread is active or looks promising to be active. I'll be more than willing to post in it and help it grow, but I'm done trying to revive threads. The main problem is that I don't have the time to organize everything and plan new things anymore. I'm glad to see a few others like Woock initiated Axis revival.

I'll keep looking in here to see how things are coming along. I'll look forward to posting in Axis.

Edit: Actually I think the main problem is that I've lost interest in RPs. I don't feel it's worth my time anymore. I've lost my excitement mainly because I haven't been able to depend on the thread staying active.

If I honestly thought this time would be different than I'd be ready and raring to go.

Right now I'm being very pessimistic, but I'm not confident in Axis staying active for more than 3 weeks to a month.

Everyone has the power, Dingo. Everyone in any RP is important to the RP. When people stop posting it affects everyone else in the thread. When people stop posting it leaves gaping plot holes leaving the other posters without inspiration.

If you came back and posted consistantly, if anyone did that. Just chose one RP. Not 3 or 4. But just one. And stuck to it posting consistantly, then there wouldn't be any problems with Glade.

So if I was going to make sure I posted in one thread it would be Height of the Guild as I still feel that thread is just waiting to unleash itself into a fantastic active thread. The Axis is the same way. LHW essentially needs the confusion cleared up and it's posters to return.

Since I'm still very much a n00b at these kinds of things, I'm very dependent on other participants in Axis, since the twist of my character's plotline is completely dependent on the plotlines of others....

Not that I've ever really been active here, but

Thread stickied temporarily. I think this would be a good place to gather member input as to how we can get people interested again. The Glade has thankfully picked up in activity recently, but we are still not up to the activity level that this forum used to enjoy.

Also, the momentum that we can gain from the good ideas that may surface here can make the Glade more active than it's ever been before. The thread will be unstickied once the Glade has become as active as it once was.

Well I think that consistant posting would be the best way to keep things active.

What do people think of requiring to post once every 6 or 7 days in each RP he/she is involved in? I think that would be fair.

Basically writing requires momentum, so any requirement to post consistantly will help build the needed momentum.

Edit: This isn't a binding contract, but rather loose guidelines for what one should aim for, when being involved in an RP. Inactivity can hurt the thread especially when key members do not post for long periods of time.

Also, it would be a good idea to post in OOC threads in case of foreseen absence (or even writers' block) so that those in the RPs know in advance and may be able to work around it.

Edit: Thread unstickied. Please direct all suggestions to the Feedback thread.
