Quote: I play AoE2 as a break from WoG. I just recently downloaded the utility that ends the 200 cap limit. I love it! Mass armies of 500 now! If you don't have it, get it! I'm also thinking of downloading the utility that replaces Aztecs and Mayans with Romans and Greeks.
hey that civilizations (mayas and aztecs) are the unique ones... why remove them??? also I'm mexican so that is our contribution to the story

It turns out I actually do have the game...
I will say it is better than Age of Empires 2. This is just my opinion. However, like I mentioned before, I never was able to really experience the second one, because my computer was too slow.
Anyway, there are quite a few new ideas being introduced in this game. It may take a little bit to get used to, but I can say it is pretty fun to play and it is worth trying out.

AoE3
i got a chance to play AoE for a few hours... i enjoyed the previous games in the series (along with the excellent AoM with its expansion) and was eager to try out the last installment ...especially after seeing the screenshots with all those cool graphics...
alas, i was disappointed... it was not only the fact the game deals with one of my least favourite eras in history, that was to be expected and i tried not to let it bother me much... however, i experienced something that will probably mean i will not bother with the series ever again...
the game has a few innovations, ones that can be quite fun to experiment with but suffers from what seems to be the standard Micro$oft attitude ...the user doesn't need to know much ...formations? patrol commands? guard? why bother... just give them only the basic commands and a gui that leaves much to be desired
all in all? ...better stick to Age of Mythology and Titans...

It's like combining the game of AoE and the creatures of HoMM.

aoe 3 is a great game like all the games from this serie; it has a lot of competitors but that's a good thing; competition leads to progress.
