Warcraft 3 Fan Fiction

You most likely wont get this if you havent ever played wc3. I got the idea after playing the Undead Campaign, where Arthas kills sylvannas windrunner and turns her into a banshee

here we go. its just a short story, no chapters.

There was a war going on. The plague that had been spreading throughout the world was coming to their ancient forests, but they were prepared. Perhaps none more so prepared than young Ariel Moonwind. She had been practicing for battle since she was a young child. Her enthusiasm often got her mocked by the elders, but she would show them. After all, she wasnt the sentinels most skilled archer for nothing, was she?

She had been born two hundred years ago, her parents were killed by semi intellegent brutish creatures, commonly known as Orcs. She had wanted to get revenge on anything she could get her hands on, She fostered a secret hatred for any intellegent species that was not of her own race, or deeply aligned with her race.

Now, her chance at revenge was here at last. The scourge that was "cleansing" the planet had finally come to Kalimdor. She was here to defend her ancient city. She had heard fearful stories about them, their ability to bring back the dead. They had enslaved one of the oldest intelligent creatures, the Nerubians of Northrend. They even had dragons in their ranks. Orcs and Humans fell to their power like flys. Only the Elves had not yet been enslaved. Not yet.

Ariel began to notice a change in her environment. A sickly smell began to fill the air, the smell of death. She heard terrible screams and voices. She was nervous, but not afraid. The commanders began to mobilize the defense. The giants had been called in from the mountians, and placed on the front lines. They were an awesome sight to behold, she had to avoid being trampled several times. Some of the men began to transform into powerful bears, They joined the mountian giants at the front lines. The mighty winged Chimearas circled the skies, scouting out the undead. She was placed in the far back, next to an odd contraption she had not seen yet. It was a crude catapult, but it launched spears instead of rocks. The sun began to set, she heard the voices getting closer.

The Chimearas suddenly shrieked in warning, the battle had begun. She heard the roar of the bears, and immediatly felt rejuvinated. She saw the mountain giants swatting away at spider-men like flys, using entire trees as weapons. She loaded her bow and fired, it hit a skeleton right in the skull, it crumbled. She saw her commander Mira Whitemane under assault from several zombieish creatures. She quickly fired two arrows, unfortunatly for her, one of them dodged. Her arrow struck Mira right in the forehead, knocking her off her tiger. The creatures dove in, ready for a fresh meal. She could not watch. Several of the undead Nerubians were at their front lines now, shooting their webs at their Chimearas, bringing them down, where they were devoured by the same creatures.

Then she saw the most fearful sight. Gigantic Corpses, sewn together from different body parts had come to the front lines, hacking through the bears like nothing. The smell was overwhelming, but still she was not afraid. Not for long

The fear began to come over her. Where had the giants gone??? She could no longer see them. What she DID see was skeletal dragons, breathing ice onto the battlefield, freezing anything in its sight. The ancients groaned as they fell to the ground. The roar of the bears had died out, and the shrieks of death were becoming all too common. Bodys were being launched into the city, infecting anything living with a deadly disease. She saw a fire though. It was a man on fire! She had to help him. She ran closer and loaded her arrow...But then she noticed something. The fire wasnt harming him, but protecting him. Anything that got too close to him was burned. Relieved, she turned around, unaware of the death knight behind her. He struck her down with one blow, his undead horse bellowing at the skies.

She was impaled apon his sword, it peirced her frail midsection. She fell to the ground and stared around her. She knew she would not die. The trees began to fall themselves, her vision became blurred. She saw a deathly man standing over her, muttering something, then she felt herself lifted out of her own body. She shrieked, an unearthly shriek. She looked at her hands, and saw the impossible. She ran out of her ancient forest, screaming for all eternity.
