So sorry to hear. Was it at school or something? I never lost money or a wallet before, except the fact that I dropped my Sam Goody Replay card somewhere on the street one night.

I hope someone can locate or report your missing wallet in case it didn't really get stolen. Of course, it's hard to tell these days. Again, very sorry.

I actually have a pretty funny story about my last encounter with a thief (ok i never met the guy but I woulda liked to have seen his face)

ok so my car got broken into, they broke my driver side window, which in itself is stupid because my door hasent been locked in god knows how many years now. anyway so they smash in my window, then they (im not sure of the order but I would assume its this one) they try to steal my car, they  break apart all the crap under my steering wheel, but as it turns out It was parked for a reason, I blew the motor and was going to send the car away to the wreaker. so I guess they got pissed off not being able to get it going, so they stole my radio. now heres the kicker, that radio didnt even work

sadly I stil had to clean up the mess and it was in the winter so all this snow and stuff go inside.

When I was younger, about 13 if I remember right, I had a baseball tournament out of town to go to and my whole family went along to cheer me on. When we returned, we found that the back door to our house had been ripped apart, the doorframe destroyed.

We entered the house with little caution, checking to see what was gone, and found that all of our large electronic stuff was disconnected and displaced. In example the television was disconnected from the VCR and cable converter, but the VCR and cable converter was gone - the Tv had it's cord wrapped neatly and was sitting in the middle of the floor. same went for the Microwave, and stereo.

We went upstairs and found that my mom's jewelery was all gone. Ironically, she needed her engagement ring sized down, so didn't wear it to the tournament for fear she'd lose it - and it was among the things that were stolen. They also took my music collection and stereo, along with my jewelry - they took other small things like alarm clocks etc.

None of it really frightened me, I was really more confused by the whole thing. I did become scared however, when I checked around my room and saw my dad's meat cleaver sitting on my bed.

I went running down to my parents then, and the police were arriving at that time. The officers were furious that we had gone in the house when we saw that it had been entered. My dad had never entertained the idea that the burgalers might still be in the home. the cop was kinda.. tactless I guess is the word, as he pointed out that the knife in my room could very have been used by the guys to hurt me had they still been there. My dad is dark skinned, but you'd better believe he was white as a ghost when the cop said that.

It scared the crap out of me too, especially when the officer said that we would have to go stay with relatives because the way the larger things were left indicated that the robbers were planning to return for the rest of it later - and since our door was destroyed, there was no way to secure the home.

The criminals were eventually caught, they had done a string of robberies over that weekend - but none of our property was restored.

For me, the insurance money made me come out ahead in that I could replace all my music tapes with newer better music, and I got to go shopping for new jewelery (what young girl doesn't love shopping? )

The consequences to the robbery for me had nothing to do with the lost items, what I lost was a sense of security and safety in my home. I have never been able to sleep heavily since then, the slightest noise will wake me instantly. it's not that I'm still afraid, I'm recovered from it by now, but it took a few years before the fear went away and now the sleeping pattern has stayed forever.

Poor Pandora,  I  sympathize  you.
I  still  have the risk  to  be  robbed, because  the  door  to  the  flat  is  half  made  of  glass.
