Some animations are missing, there is no city walls on the battlefields, no heroes portraits etc BUT its pretty playable version even with those imperfect graphics. If you want to be famous, put it all together in a *.wog!

So,
anyone wants to be famous and written foreer in the cards of history, by creating a *.wog install with the forge graphics? We already have so much stuff done that its ready to become at least an alpha!

Finally! Don's team did some amazing work, but they haven't turned out anything new for weeks. Now with all those files recovered and with Zielevitz, one of the initiators of the project back with us at long last, things really seem to be looking up. Can it really be completed with what data we have? If the many failures and demises of the Forge project could be atributed to a Curse, I'd say someone just countered it with a Bless

Yeah dude, it's better to wait 10 years until Forge will be released with perfect and polished units, buildings and heroes...
When you Russians will finish all those 'great' mods that you are working at, I guess nobody will care about this game no more.

we don't care what you want. If Zielevitz or somebody else wants to make a pack with a below than average, average or whatever is your opinion on this then let him do it and don't use it. People like me will be glad to use it.

Well Hobbit, I don't think that "these Russians" or you mod only for yourself. Without active community who will play in your mods? And after xxx years of waiting people will get bored of WoG and just leave.

Really it would be cool to have a beta to use. Useful and funny! If you want continue making those defs but now we have many things and when all the def will be completed we will have the open pre-beta stage then wait other time to make the other versions

But it's not like they are doing it not for themselves. What's the point of making something if author does not like his/her work?
Also it's better to not hurry up THAT MUCH and use BETTER graphics instead of - let's say - "not as good". If graphics are not very good - more people complain. If graphics are better - less complain. That's pretty easy and I think that's why we shouldn't just rush others, but simply wait. Or make something useful by this time. Like other mods.
And about time - who on earth is calling himself a fan if he/she does not have any patience to wait for something that he/she likes?

Let me explain something...
From what I understood this "Russian team" does not want to make just a Forge. They want to make THE Forge. And from what I understood this town has to be GOOD. Not "well uhh playable at least".
Maybe it's good idea to make in the first place just some stuff using old graphics etc. But what's the point if many people can do so even if they have actually no talent? You want to have this town now, using all this stuff that everyone can have at the moment. That's fine - but why should this one team that wants to make "NWC like" town do so?
You know, it's not like I'm attacking you (or at least want to attack you ), but if you want that town now it would be really cool if you make it and share with everyone instead of rushing someone else. That would be very nice for other people that want it. And for those who does not want.

Wel i know sometimes i can't explain myself really brightly and that makes those errors (still I don't know if i have the knowledge level for english)
And prehaps i overreacted a little making that post you know i'm impatient (i think there are too many that can't wait) so well. Oh and one other thing that i have to admit, I would recreate the town but i don't know how to reposition the buildings so it's really problematic
for me

Well dude, just use the simple Scrum method - use what you have for now to deliver, then in week-or-so sprints continuesly replace the old stuff with new stuff. Polishing the details is well known project-killer, doing proffesional jobs you can lose much money that way. But things are much different when you show what you deliver what you have now, just to increase the interest and feed the hunger of community, and then even increase the satisfaction with new upgrade.
Its the basic choice within:
* Community will get playable version now, some upgrades in the meantime and the final version when its done and polished (but truly, nothing have a final version, you can always enhance something)
* Community will get no version now, and when all the details are perfect, something will be released (I know in your estimation it may be week or month, but hey - is it any different from your estimation from one year ago?  )

trolling is trolling and sharing an opinion is sharing an opinion. two different concepts.
waiting for better graphics isn't really a good idea. Look at bastion. 7 years and still no sign of a release date. Look at grove = 7 years too. Darkloke stopped the project because himself lost the interest in this project and guess why? it took too much time and fans gave up on this town too. Lucky we have this polish grove which personally i play weekly. Honestly i think it's a good idea to release what they have now [poor graphics or not] and polish them in time just like polish team does with Grove. [suggestion: updates more frequently not each 25th of december like polish team ]. My conclusion: Modders, make us a favor and do what your hearts want.
