Does anyone else have the problem of reporting games on WW and then getting an error saying "Player Not Found"?

I have tried to do that twice for one win & for one loss and have quadruple-checked the names to make sure that I wasn't mistyping any letters or something like that, but everything was fine...I still got that error!

Any feedback on this would be appreciated.

Is there a chance you were reporting your opponents zone name as opposed to his/her WW name? Sometimes they are the same (like in my case), but often times they are different.  The WW name is what you want to report.

No, I did not make that obvious mistake.

Both times, I did a "Player Search" to make sure that I had the correct spelling and it still gave me the "Player Not Found" error....argh!

Edit:

If u donīt like the thread here, just donīt read it.
Stop posting your crap all the time.

Warning!

Edit by me:

hey spankelito,

here is the deal.

WW got a forum.

This HC forum is about strategy.

TOH got a seperate forum as its a tourney here at HC.

If you cant see the difference between strategy and a thread about WW tournaments then maybe you are at the wrong place.

I dont care how much you dislike me, but even you should be able to realise that these threads isnt strategy material.

If WW wants its place here at HC they should adress that question to valery. And then if he agrees they should get a forum of their own.

This isnt your call to make, as for all you know maybe even TOH has gotten an exclusive as a tourney to use HC? have you even checked that up?

Its a shame i have to tell you these things, learn how to act as a moderator and learn your responsibilities instead of writing off my posts as crap.

Sorry about the reply... didn't mean it as an insult. Im only speaking on my own experience here.  I've never had that happen to me when the correct WW name was used.

Hey Leo, that error generally occurs when you have misentered your password or mistyped the opponents or your name. It might also occur just to aggrevate you sometimes as it does it too me as well sometimes.

I never considered the password issue, so I'll have to look into that...thanks!

I also appreciate you telling me that there are times that the system is simply "whacked out on Scoobie Snacks"!

Hiding from Cherry Pickers

What does a veteran expect when he/she plays a not so experienced player?

I see and have heard alot about players wanting to have good, challenging, fair games and I agree with this... but.... do they also accept the fact that they might be much better and may just want an easy win??

I was in the zone last weekend and was messaged by a few players that I thought were far more experienced than myself.  I don't mind losing a game and getting more experience... but I don't want to embarass myself either.  I think in order to up your level of play, you have to compete at a higher level.

For example, I don't mind playing medium experienced players.... but when Marietti0 messages me and says he thinks we will have a good game   He is nuts!! I later see who he played and realize I will get embarassed bad!!

Will he later tell other members not to play me because I wasn't a good match and didn't give him a challenge?  or is he happy that he has another win?  Just curious.

I tend to know maretti very well, and he enjoys a challenge yes, but look at your own stats, I would place you as above average. until you have more games played I rate your skills as way better than mine good luck in your games

there are cherry pickers yes, maretti is not one of them. there are others on the top there that I wont mention that are though

oh, one more thing, about the rankings in ww. I enjoy the tournament very much, and the azuremajesty is extremely active as leader. What I am not as found of about ww is the rankings system. I dont like to gain points when I lose. this makes more noob hunters, and the top players aint neccesarily the best, they are often players that in a tournie like toh would not even qualify for top100. I think there should be something similar to toh, not the same maybe but something similar. just a thought

with regards

WW was created specifically to give players an alternative league to play in without having to worry about seeing tables in the zone read: Baron or higher, 1500+ or higher,Recruits, Footmen and Squires need not inquire.

Our point system is two part; yes, we offer points for both a win or a loss, however take a closer look at the rank system and notice that all those points do you no good to increase your rank past Hero status, Guildmaster and higher ranks are all Win based only.

WW will always keep the point system for wins and losses as that along with other aspects is what makes us WW.

Ok... I guess the reason for me bringing this up is to find out what goes through the heads of those better players?  If they do win very convincingly due to skill difference, do they see it as a waste of time?  or are they happy to play whoever, as long as it is a fair game.

For example: me, playing better players will eventually make my game play better if I learn from my mistakes each game... so it is of value to me  I don't see this as much value to the better player though, as it does not challenge his/her skills very much.

I see room titles in the zone similar to:  Toh 1700+, No noobs, Guildmaster or higher, etc... This is why I get the feeling that the better players don't want to waste their time.

@ LL: Sometimes records can be deceiving, especially when only a handful of games have been played... so to say my skills are better than yours is a stretch.

Maretti is a very nice guy, I only used him as an example because it really stuck out in my head after I looked him up on WW during his turn on day 2

only guildmaster or higher LOL, never seen that before, the guy stating that is just plain stupid now, toh1700+, that is a player who either look for a challenge, or just want to reduce his risks hehe. a player 1700+ is a good player, a player guildmaster or more isnt neccesarily

but I think it is the way you say, some players only wants to boost their stats though, cant understand why they think that is fun as always, the best games is usually the ones you have with players about your own skill level. You will learn more from better players though

Thanks for the response LL

Hopefully this question wasn't taken as an attack towards anyone, but to get an idea of what a veteran player is really looking for in a game.  Sometimes the better players don't really know how good (or not so good) a new player is either

LKru33, H3 isnt chess, a decent player can, with some luck, beat anybody on a random map. Therefore if I see a player with a 7-1 record I cant see why I shouldnt ask him for a game. Especially if I have been looking for a game for a long time. You even had beaten some pretty good players.

I think you are overestimating the top players level. You dont need a sience degree to be good at H3. Following a few simple tactic guidelines, (all available here on HC) will make you a pretty good player and you will have a chance of winning. Of course it sounds intimidating when people beat 600 diamond golems with 40 grand elfs and 2 silver pegasis or break week 2 on jebus but that just dosent happen very often. In many games its hard just to get cavs week 1.

In most games you play the map allmost all game and when you finaly meet the opponent the game will often be decided. In such games it really dosent matter who you play. As long as there is a chance he is doing well and can beat you, you will be focused and have fun.

Your record will tell if you are a good match. My experience is that the only time people recommend not playing someboby is because of cheating or bad behavior, so dont worry.

I must say I was amused to see that you recorded a loss for your premature reporting, but i suggest u write AzureMajesty to have it corrected.

Ya, maretti! Give LKru hell...

He claims that he is a nOOb and tries to make everyone believe him, and then he goes out stirs up a bunch of trouble...so, maybe he really is a nOOb afterall!

I was also curious about veterans' outlook on playing lower ranked people...because I suck...but then I read Azure's Post above and was pleased by her explanation of WW's point system.

I also look forward to playing good people and getting better, because as it stands now, I am horrible...or maybe I am just REALLY unlucky!

Either way, whenever I play, I have fun...win or lose!
