Missing the 0.5 level creatures
What about 0.5 level creatures, which you can mass produce and do little or no damage?
Haven Creature = Dog -- Rabid Dog Upgrade
Preserve Creature = Mosquito -- Mosquito w/malaria Upgrade
Necromancer Creature = Rat -- Big Rat Upgrade
Academy Creature = Creeping crud -- Killer crud Upgrade (anyone ever play Phantasie I-III on Atari ST?)
Asylum Creature = Madman -- Pyromaniac Upgrade
Stronghold Creature = Red Ant -- Fire Ant Upgrade
specialty for all these creatures: Immune to mind spells!

Is it just me...
or does somebody else also not understand Vesuvius' humor sometimes? (No offence of course here though)
I think you should sent that list for 3DO I think we got something here...
Weird that Incubus hasn't reacted...Maybe that Pyromaniac would be too powerful (it must be human?)...

The only quibble I could possibly make is that, based on an unpleasant experience I had in the South once, "little or no damage" and "fire ants" don't go together. Those little <expletive deleted> are NASTY!

It would be Swarming
When they go somewhere they go in group and what kind of group it is...OUCH!

The Phantasie games were awesome! There's just something vaguely satisfying about having your fighter running around without an arm or leg (with suitably adjusted graphics) aparently without having any ill effects... Of course, I playeed them on the Apple IIC, so the graphics might have been different.

Creeping Crud
Weren't the creeping cruds from wizardry, not from phantasie? I'm pretty sure they even made it into the later wizardy games. They were a classic of that series (right next to the creeping coins).

As much as I love the game, and homm4, i just decided to make another 'stupid' list of creatures. My point was, 3do doesnt give a hoot to what one says here. A 5-minute visit once a month by a staffer from 3do or NWC gets people here all hyped up.....
........but to view the big picture, you really need to visit other roleplaying game communities, and see what REAL participation and fan support by the game programmers & publishers are all about.
Eg. your baldurs gate, dungeon siege, myth, age of empires, neverwinter nights, civilization, pool of radiance, wizardry.... shall I go on?

Let the people talk that's why this forum is here.
People to talk and make wishes (that might never come true) about HoMM the game as you said we love.
I myself see it clearly now that 3DO doesn't listen fans as many other gamecompanies do.
But does it make this place obsolete?
No.
I think the way you put it Vesuvius is best way to stop people coming here.
We don't want that really, do we?

Ouch! I have bad memories from last night... I almost couldn't sleep because of those evil MOSQUITOES! Maybe I should hire a real wyvern to eat them...
By the way, mosquitoes would be great for HoMM4, especially if they are very small. Then only enemies with True Sight or something like that can see those little insects. Mosquitoes are not effective against non-bloody creatures, however.

Are you saying Heroes can summoning the powers of controlling the elements calling down lightning to smite there enemys but are unable to come up with a simple bug spray? I hope not!
