They seize on each others' comments. They're waiting in the bushes for the opponent to say something they can take out of context.

This is really starting to look like a rat race.
All over the world, elections are more and more starting to look like simple, massive smear campaigns against other candidates. They don't even try to conceal that anymore.

I think it would help Obama a lot to get an experienced person as his running mate.  Then listen to and learn from them (as long as it is not Chaney ).

Also, people should just ignore what either persons supporters say.  Listen to the canidates, ignore the background chatter.  Cause seriously, I think both groups supporters are developing or have developed footinmouthitis compounded by idiotouses.  Also if Obama is expected to distence himself from that pastor, Clinton should be forced to divorce and distance herself from Bill (and then I might actually vote for her ).

Next stop listening to the biased news sources (like fox).  If you can find one, only read totally neutral news sources.  Then actually listen to the participants, and the second they start double speaking (ie not actually answering the questions) start boycotting until they actually give a straight answer.  Yeah I know getting a straight answer from a politician is like pulling teeth from a baby (that hasn't yet actually grown any teeth) but it would be nice.

@ MYTICAL:

If she divorced her only true quality then no one would vote for her. She is married to man that got his presidential willy wacky played with in the oval office by an intern half his age. Excuse me while I say that is smoking *** hot. Bill has great charisma and is actually a very intelligent well spoken man. Hilary has been giving her poody poo out on a platter for a long time, she is no angel. If you were married to a women whose veins pump ice you would be soiling as many blue dresses as you could find.

You don’t vote for Hilary because she is not the better candidate.

One thing that saddens me...

Even though this long battle for the nomination is great for American "democracy" it can have a negative impact... Because there can be alot of mistakes that are made, and will be used against the candidate in the general election. There has already too much of ammunition given to the opponent. What I am referring here are the Obamas "bitter" remarks for example. I know for sure we haven't heard the last of it! The Rebublicans may even run a full scale "Obama is an elitist"-campaign, which have actually worked in previous elections...

So is Obama actually the best candidate now to defeat McCain? Some analysts think that it is especially the "elitist"-label that had lost Kerry and Al Gore the previous elections. and Obama seems to have ended in the same line. Or will this just blow away and people will talk about the issues instead of the labels? I fear not...

Pennsylvania... So what will happen? Usually there are many prophets here to tell the results beforehand... Gootch for example?

Once again Hillary is on the verge of falling off the race. The polls tell that she has a lead. But that is not enough, she needs a minimum of 2 digit lead to have any credibility. She need to win BIG. But I still do not know who can vote in the primary? I mean if the republicans show up to support her, that can be a massive help. On the otherhand, the money is on Obama:

"Mr Obama has spent heavily in Pennsylvania - he had a $42m (£21m) war chest for April while Mrs Clinton had $9m"

That is a HUGE advantage.

In PA, only democrats can vote in the democrat primary race.  So unless you have a substantial percentage of Repubs ditching their party at the last minute in order to cast a vote (and yes, some people do it), Obama and Clinton won't find any help there.

Clinton will win but it won't be a landslide.  It's basically going to be a repeat of Ohio.  The two states are very similar.

I think that James Carville put it interestingly once, "Pennsylvania is Philadelphia in the east, Pittsburgh in the west, and Alabama in between." I think it'll turn out much like Ohio, but I don't think that Clinton will win as big.

ON THE EVE OF THE PENNSYLVANIA PRIMARIES:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/polls/

Obama has garnered over a ten-percent lead average against Clinton nationally for the first time I believe, and while it's by a narrow margin, continues to poll against McCain more strongly than Clinton.

The spread will be a little over seven percent tonight.

With 96% of the precincts voting, Hillary has taken Pennsylvania 55/45, a spread of 10.

Peacemaker needs to talk with me before she makes her predictions.  I concede my burp about Ohio.  All that did was remind me of the intransigence of the white blue collars that desperately cling onto ancient and outdated views on race.

The prophet is back and a ready to dish on how this election is going to go down.

Regardless of what happens in between, the world can rest a bit easier.  Obama will be our next president.  I'll just be here to offer some play-by-play.

Operation Chaos

My mom told me on the phone last night that Rush Limbaugh proudly proclaimed (and admitted) on his own radio show yesterday that the Pennsylvania vote was a "phony," the success of his "operation chaos."

This is more of a MF nightmare than I can really wrap my tormented mind around right now....

Hillary's apparent up-tick should be advertized far and wide for what it actually represents -- or more accurately, doesn't actually represent.

I've heard about this. But Pennsylvania is a closed primary, so the Republicans who cared enough to register Democratic just to make Hillary win shouldn't have made that big of an impact.

I'd say it's more because that too many working-class people vote against their own interests.

You might be right...

It depends whether you think 46,000 who switched their party affiliation constitutes a "big" impact.  It probably doesn't.

http://www.philly.com/inquirer/local/20080401_Pa__Democrats_register_in_record_numbers_for_April_primary.html

Approximately 8 million registered Democrats voted last Tuesday, which means those who switched their party affiliation comprised about one-half of one percent of the voters.  In addition, those Pubs who switched to Dems broke about two-to-one in favor of Obama.  Therefore, Clinton's cut comprised somewhere around 16,000, and I believe I saw that somewhere in one of those articles.

Here's my source:
http://www.dos.state.pa.us/elections/cwp/view.asp?A=1310&Q=446974

(Can somebody double-check my math?)

Oh I have got to see this.

*blinks*

I doubledog dare you to get nasty.

What do you know about getting nasty anyway?  Are you nasty because you listen to thrash metal?  Are you nasty because *edited for teasing about something terribly personal*?  Are you nasty because you blew smoke into your parole officer's face?  Are you nasty because you play ring-around-the-rosey around the ancient oak that your wicca tribe claims is sacred?

I don't believe you're political at all.  I think you're too pretty to be political(which by the way, you are destroying with your smoking).  Pretty girls in my experience have soundbites, not complete thoughts.  They're not required to have complete thoughts.  They say one thing, and guys will nod their head in agreement and girls will still think bad things about you for being prettier than them.

So my guess is that you've cut your teeth about politics talking with guys, boys rather.  And I can just hear it now.  They start swearing about Howard, which leads to swearing about my president.  Is that how it usually goes?

If I'm wrong, please correct me.  I'd love to hear your nastiness.

Edit:  As for the spelling, I recommend using Mozilla/Firefox as your browser.  It has a built-in spell check.  And don't worry about misspelling words anyway.  I'm no longer a grammar nazi(international board rules state that the term nazi is one of the most offensive words in any lexicon and especially should never be used to refer to a mod who happens to be from Germany).  What is important is whether or not what is being said is understandable.

Edit:  I did not intend to find a roundabout way to say bad things to La Ultima Hora.  Post cleaned for apparent provocations.

Actually Gootch, the rule states 1) NO insults, abuse, racism or sexism.-Insult is a remark that undermines another person.. So when you are calling someone that to deliberately insult them - knowing full well that it will, that's where it becomes a breach of the rules.

You're welcome to call yourself whatever you'd like. Preferably in a new thread so as to keep this one ontopic please
