Whoever wins this election, I'm going to be honest, I wouldn't step up to that plate personally. They're going to have a lot on their hands.

An economy that's going down the drain and a credit crunch, a handful of wars going on and on the horizon, mountains of debt, a miserable healthcare system, and civil services, roads that are falling apart and can't get fixed because the capital simply isn't available.

It's a shambles, really. I feel sorry for whoever they are.

Eh....

All I hear is a lot of talk but the world in which I live seems to be moving ahead with buying and selling houses. People are all around me living out there lives in relative normality. It's all about educationism and routine consistentialism. Me personally, I focus mostly on my own happenstancizing. It's a cute little story of how my great aunt decided to put down the sewing thread and pick up her dreamably hopes. But I suppose it's all a simple matter of inner truthiness.

I trust Colin Powel even less... for the lies he is never to be held accountable for. It just gives me the chills to remember the praise he got from mainstream US media - it was unquestionable. This "uncontested evidence Mr. Powell has brough for us" and so forth... Makes me want to puke to think of it. (no wonder Iraq war was supported by a large portion of the American population, and almost exclusively opposed everywhere else in the Western World)

If you research this series of events you may be surprised at how Powell was actually ambushed intelligence-wise. He went through endless brain damage to get verification but was deceived and lied to due to the Bush administration's intelligence culture of cherry-picking, which contaminated the entire process.

Look at both of these candidates. They are both terrible.

Obama capitulated on FISA.
McCain used to be a maverick, until he decided that he wanted to win the Republican nomination and that Obama was attracting all of the independents.

Obama flip-flopped on campaign finance.
McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts, but now supports them.

Obama wants universal health care.
McCain wants to stay in Iraq for a hundred years.

Obama sat in the pews of a racist, hate-mongering pastor for 20 years.
McCain flip-flops on his religion all the time. In the North, he is a Methodist, and in the South - a Baptist.

Obama sat on a charity board with William Ayers, a former Weatherman.
McCain hugged George W. Bush.

I have a hard time telling which one is worse.

Hmm PeaceMaker, of course you might be right, but I am not yet so sure about his innocence.

Here is a portion of WMD lies by George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell compiled together

Ah yes, good idea to try and impeach the President with three months to go.

Sarcasam or not, only a fool would believe that Iraq was harmless.  Perhaps we did go in for the wrong reasons but I'm certain the world is better off with Saddam dead.

War is illegtimate?  It's part of human nature.  If you think everything can be solved through peaceful processes, you are turning a blind eye to reality.

That's not the point!

The point is this war has started under LIES, is still being sold with lies, and you ALLOW a government that LIES to you to still be in charge!

Moreover you allow the SAME government to strip you from your rights under the guise of "fighting terror".

Can you seriously not see the problem here?

And here, I agree with Moonlith. *shocked gasps all around*

Biden for VP? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1op8vwF5UA

On the other hand, Biden is pretty corrupt, trying to buy off the press with bagels:

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/08/biden-brings-re.html

As he rolled into his driveway he stopped his pickup and, without saying anything more than, "Hi" and "Nice talking to you," to waiting reporters, he handed a brew box of coffee and a dozen bagels out the window.

Journalists, ever thankless, soon realized that he brought cream cheese for the bagels and cream and sugar for the coffee. But no cups, which is just as well since there are no public restrooms within over a mile of his house.

No cups!!! This isn't change we can believe in, my friends.

Obama wants universal health care.

By being against this you basicly promote a Wild West society. Every man for himself? As far as I know, humanity hadn't come to this level if humanity had gone by that idea and didn't look after one another. There is NOTHING wrong with looking after each other and carrying the weak. Understand that this is NOT a free letter to not go to work and expect your country to subsidize you.

I do agree with you though both candidates are terrible In my opinion the best option has already gone out of the race, out by majority vote of the mass dumb TV-brainwashed americans I assume.

This is what the economic and political system should be based upon. It doesn't mean that private individuals shouldn't give to charity, etc.

Unfortunately, when you introduce such programs, it creates adverse incentives to do so.

As for universal health care, my position on it is weird. On one hand, it's obvious that people need health care, or they'll die, and that's not good for anybody. On the other hand, if UHC is introduced,, then donut-eaters will be treated at everybody else's expense. Plus, costs will shoot upwards. My solution can be read a few pages back.

Edit: It's been confirmed. Obama/Biden 08!

So let's have some insider analysis from Peacemaker. And what does Consis think about this?

Oh, wait, neither of them come here any more.
