McCain just chose Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. That was a really puzzling choice, since she doesn't bring much to the ticket except being a woman and being able to draw a few irrational Hillary supporters.

It also generates a lot of buzz, talk and speculation.  Haven't you noticed that the media is focusing today on McCain's choice as VP and not Obama's speech last night?

It seems that they're still focused more on Obama's speech, I think. But Palin? She's a two-year governor from Alaska! No one's ever heard of her except for people who watch Fox News Sunday. She is absolutely unremarkable, except that she's a woman. She wouldn't generate as much buzz as Romney or Pawlenty, and Biden will pwn her at the VP debate.

Doesn't Matter

Hillary lost and I got no one else to vote for but Obama. I thought if McCain picked someone co_OL then I would vote for him but he didn't. The Alaskan VeePilf is so wrong. She is just so wrong. Whatever....the only thing I have to look forward to at this point is to hope to see Arnold speak at the Republican convention. My wife said I was confusing because I'm registered democrat who can't wait to watch Arnold at the Republican convention. But I seriously love that guy. I don't care what anyone says about him.

Maybe that is because Arnold's policies are so non-republican?

Edit. Or more likely, state of California is like a completely different country. Resembles very little of the "main" USA

I don't know much about Palin, but what I've heard so far makes me shudder. She seems to be more conservative than the Inquistors of the Middle Ages. Strictly against abortion is one thing you can argue, but NO sexual education in school at all? Maybe that's why her daughter is pregnant with 17...no one told her about contraception...

America deserves better than that imho.

Palin: ""Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God," she exhorted the congregants. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan.""

Why the American media aren't outright laughing at and mocking this retarded pile of dung is beyond me.

Must be a cultural difference, I reckon.

"Just prior to discussing Iraq, Alaska's governor asked the audience to pray for another matter -- a $30 billion national gas pipeline project that she wanted built in the state. "I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said."

It's getting ridiculous.
Palin is like the step-mom from the cheap hollywood block buster where no one realizes she's really evil except the main character

Actually, screw that, she's like Vice from the plays of old, she's like Richard III, that people actually got her this far actually scares me.

In this sense she is the best thing to happen to McCain.
She makes that scary old dude seem rather mediocre compared to her ridiculous unsuitability.

I wonder though. Could this actually help to STATISTICLY determine the percentage of Americans that can actually be qualified as "dumb" by seeing how many vote McCain now the upcoming elections?

I have to say that I'm very disappointed in this choice for McCain's running mate.  Now I can't stand either ticket.

Well I've heard some things about Palin on the news.

Judging it, I think Palin is a very, VERY bad choice. This is a choice not to lure undecided voters, but to keep the Conservatie Guard voting for McCain. That's a wrong drive imo, and is one of the many flaws in McCain's choice for Palin...

And she isn't related to Michael Palin at all

What's sad is I've heard that exact same quote coming from Change hounds only they weren't speaking in jest...

But Palin is proving to be a successful choice because it's really a two on one race now.  Biden isn't really doing much for Obama other than delivering awkward speeches.  Palin and McCain both have their ruthless supporters and maybe both of them can combine to beat the Obama bandwagon

She's not popular, she's a hag. She stands for everything that's keeping America back as a country. No sex education, no abortion, no universal healthcare, but pro-guns and pro-death penalty. So what we guys'd like to get her in the sack? The fact she has a boneable body shouldn't determine her qualifications for Vice-President. She's NEVER held an important governing office before, because governer of Alaska doesn't count.

Remember why Bush was re-/elected? People wanted to have a beer with the guy! We don't need nice people, we need great people! Obama is a great person, because he brought the election from White vs. Black back to ''what's best for Americans and the rest of the world?''

I have more foreign policy experience than Sarah Palin

Seriously.

She had to get her passport last year.

She is just the typical narrow-minded, gun-toting, puritanical, climate change denying, homophobic, death penalizing cow that doesn't just put the icing on McCains "****ed up" Presidential cake -> she turns it into a damn buffet.

The fact that anyone likes the old warmongering joke that is McCain is surprising to me however not out of the question.... Palin, on the other hand, is unbelievable. How can you not just laugh at her doing everything wrong?

Maybe America is a lost cause after all.

WHY do it?
