Pop-up Pains

*You're typing something long (e.g. a web address) and your typing stops registering on the screen because of an incoming pop-up. It wouldn't be as annoying to me if it didn't happen as often as it does. Very irritating, particularly when typing web addresses with loads of numbers.

*I hate those really shifty pop-ups that seem to move whenever you try to aim your cursor at the "close" button. Some even drop out of view and you can't do anything until they reappear seconds later.

*I also hate pop-up ads that take almost 20 seconds to load up properly before you're allowed to click off.

* Web pages that seem to load up at a different pace every time u work with them. For example they open real quick but then when u click refresh button take 5 minutes to refresh.

* Web sites that that have a hard time following through with commands and display error messages all the time. Yahoo email especially is notorious for this. I click on "Delete" email button and get a new page that says "Were sorry, Yahoo did not understand your request", %*#!&%$^#@&%$#@&^*%&+%#@*!!!!

* Websites that u need to leave open and work with for lengthy amounts of time but that "time-out" every 5 minutes and u must log back in.

*I dislike those personal webpages that people cram a lot of stuff into. Picture files, midi music, trailing color mouse cursors, and the infamous "welcome windows". A pop-up saying "Welcome to my site! Click 'ok' to continue." You click off on it and then another pop-up appears "Please sign my guestbook! Click 'ok' to continue." You end up closing one after another until they finally stop appearing. Annoying.

*Web-induced STACK OVERFLOW!!! Well, I happened to be online the last time, it happened to me... Gosh, that bites.

My heart skipped a beat just a minute ago. I was cruising forums here at HC when I saw a post of mine, but only my yellow stars showed up and all my red ones were gone! My first nervous thought was that I badly breached the CoC somehow, but I had no idea how. And then the red stars reappeared in the two seconds that followed, so I'm better now.

Dang, I miss Jebus. He made the Tavern fun.

I'm really getting into using MySpace these days, although I find it annoying that my laptop freezes up when it tries to open pages with too many pictures and videos in them. That was one of my initial reasons for staying off MySpace, but I've grown to enjoy the good points while staying away from cluttered pages. Oh well, there's always something out there to irk you.

Even  though you are no longer here, I must agree with you entirely.

I am often busy and when I tell someone I am busy they keep talking to me, and then I keep telling them I am busy and they eventually say "**** you" and block me, only because I said I was busy.

That really annoys me.

LOL

1. The word Irk
2. When it NEVER works. Never ever ever.
3. When you're in an online game, just about to finish, and then it cuts out, you lose the mission you were doing or the game you were in.
4. Lag.
5. People on myspace who put up complete ****snow, like all those stupid quotes.
6. How girls on myspace comment each other going OMG YOU ARE SO HOT OMG YOU'RE GORGEOUS I LOVE YOU. Even more annoying when the girl is clearly not all those things
7. People arguing about consoles and other heated one-sided arguments
8. People who think they are the absolute **** and you can't do anything about it because it's the internet.
9. Chain emails. And Chain Emails that try to take the piss out of chain emails, but are really just as bad.
10. When people leave MSN on when they go out and instead put "OUT-" and say where they are and who they're with and their phone number and everything. I just feel like saying no one cares where you are, or that you're so proud that you have something to do for once, and no one has anything THAT important to tell you that they need your phone number before you come back to msn in about an hour, knowing you.

Things that irk me online:

Annoying pop-ups that make a new window, and when you try and close them, about 5 other pop up windows come.

When you are in the middle of a download, a big one like 50 MBs or more, you come back after being away and you find that your internet has been disconnected, when you reconnect, you find that you cannot resume the download and you must start again (especially annoying if the massive download is nearly finished then it stuffs up).

When you are on MSN, and then suddenly in a convo someone makes about 100 smilies that take forever to load, lagging your entire computer.

When you are in online games, and you are about to win or get a really good item, and then your internet loses connection and the game then stuffs up.

When you download something, only to find out that it is not compatible with your system.

When a popup comes up, changing the window from your website to the popup window, saying;

"Hello, kind sir! Would you like to gain 100 free ringtones, an ipod and a penis enlargement?"

and you politely decline, saying;

"Although enticing, I must refuse, although thankyou very much for the offer, you're a gentleman and a scholar."

Then you press the old Alt+F4 button to close the window, then SUDDENLY, the window ABRUPTLY switches back to your old page, leaving the popup open behind. By this stage it's too late, and the mighty Alt+F4 obliterates your original page, leaving the popup asking for your credit card number, and you wondering how the hell you're going to get back to that page.

Or in Guild Wars, or any online game, when someone asks a question or says the same thing OVER AND OVER

It's like, they say,
"were is tha quest?"

And then you're about to answer them and they go
"were is tha quest??????????"
"were is tha quest??????????"
"were is tha quest??????????"
"were is tha quest??????????"
"were is tha quest??????????"
"were is tha quest??????????"
"were is tha quest??????????"
"were is tha quest??????????"
"were is tha quest??????????"
"were is tha quest??????????"
"were is tha quest??????????"

and then you're so pissed off at their stupidity that you can't bring yourself to answer them just to SHUT THEM UP

and I hate all those stupid arguments you get into online
