yet another Oracle

Inspired by Xarfax's Oracle and by Angelito's recent "Weekly questions" i decided to start a new thread where people can ask and answer some questions, in order to test their skills .

without further discussion let's start with the first question:

Who will travel further on water:

Lvl 10 Sylvia with 1 Archangel,Sea captain's hat and advanced navigation

or

Lvl 10 Tazar with 1 gnoll,Necklace of ocean guidance and advanced navigation ?

the most complete answer wins

i go for sylvia. her specalty is nav (i think) and the AA increases her speed.

tazar has a slow gnoll and advanced nav

i forgot what the atrefacts do

Tazar will move further. Necklace of Ocean is so much better than sea captain's hat when it comes to movement.

Sylvia will move much further..

Sylvia: 1500 movementpoints (mp) as basic speed (as already mentioned, units don“t count for watermovement).
advanced navigation means basic mp are doubled, so it will be 3000 mp. Sylvia“s speciality gives 5% for each level, which adds 50% of 3000 = 1500. Makes 4500 in summary. Seacaptains hat gives 500 additional mp.
So Sylvia will have an amount of 5000 movementpoints.

Tazar also has 3000 (advanced nav.), and the necklace gives 1000 points extra, makes in summary 4000 mp.

So Sylvia will travel 25% further than Tazar

seems like the shield and sword guy wins the prize

now until tomorrow when the next question is posted why don't you guys contemplate the event when tazar has also favorable winds (version 3.2 or complete)

...well why not another Oracle Question:

Which battlespell higher then Level2 u can find in the spellbook can still work...

a) ...when your opponent does have the recanter, while you have the badge of courage?

b) ...when you have the red orb and your Opponent having the black orb?

...hehe

wellcome back Xarfax

when wearing the recanter or the black orb no spells higher than lvl 3 can be casted by any of the two heroes.This is a known fact and the presence of badge of courage or in the other case the orb of vulnerability doesn't change this at all.

This only leaves us with the creature specialities.
First one that comes to mind is the Fireshield wich will work in both situations.

Must of missed this but on top of my head let me give it a shot.
A game I had with Zud yrs ago I had the Badge while he had the Recanters.
Wierd thang was no one could cast any spells at all in the spell book even lv 1.
But SOme of the spells works from creatures like Weakness from flies, & Fireshield on SUltans, the Ogre Magis spell casting etc.

Second one was easy red orb vs his black orb, You cant cast spells but Some of the few spells still works from the creatures like unicorns blind & the Flies weakness, fireshield etc, BUT no supportive spells would help you like Ogre Magis casting,M Genies or the Thunders, Fairy Dragons etc.

The mind spells spells work mostly.

well as they say you have to try it yourself to see how it works

My next guess was Faerie Dragons and cos i wasn't sure how they will perform in the given conditions i decided to test that.

Here are the results:

a)I had recanter's cowl and the oponent had badge of courage:

Lvl 1 and 2 spells can be casted as expected.When it was the Faeries turn and they prepared a lvl 3 or 4 spell, instead of having a spell book animation like that of casting a spell, the sword appeared when moving the cursor over an enemy creature.But the level 3 and 4 spells can still be casted!
When i pressed F the sword animation changed back into a spell book and so i could cast the spell.It worked for:Fireball,frost ring,Meteor shower and even Inferno.The only exception was Chain lightining.When i tried to cast that i got the msg: That spell will affect no one.The most interesting thing about this was that even though those spells could be casted, they performed no damage, so they were casted for nothing,only the animation appeared, but no critters died or were injured.To me this is something very new and seems like a game bug or maybe some other strange side effect of that Badge of courage wich surprised me with the berserk immunity someother time.

b)I had the red orb and my oponent had the black orb:

Here i needed to use the same trick(pressing F instead of moving the cursor over the enemy critter, cos this way i could not cast spells, but only direct attack).
To my surprise i could cast all the spells i wanted even though i had red orb on.I tried magic arrow, ice&lighning bolt, frost ring, fireball,meteor shower,Inferno and even Chain lightning.They all worked as normal and unlike the first event they all performed damage on the attacked unit(s).

@edit:another critter spec that will work in both these circumstances is protection from fire casted by magma elementals.I have to give credit for this to Angelito, as it was his idea.

What do you think Xar is the list complete now?

With the red and black orbs does it really make a difference which player is carrying which one? The effects of both are global arent they?

F.e. I think that only the player with the black orb can resurrect their black dragons, but the one without it can't. I'm not sure, but the orb might only negate the magic resistances so that it's beneficial to the player with the orb..

If your main hero has attack 50 and exp offence and the opponents main hero has defence 99 and exp armorer which of your creatures will do the most damage to his creatures?

U can pick any creature. The number of creatures u have correspond to their hp. So for example you can choose 250 pesants, 10 dogs or 1 archangel.

Depends... if magic damage, then Fairy Dragon... if not, I would say Ancient Behemoth.

Edit**  I never took into account the death stare of the mighty gorgon.  I guess it depends on the stack you are fighting and how many creatures you have.
