Quote: How can u know how far your opponent town is approximately away from u, if u play a random on day one, even without scouting, spells or buildings?
Everytime u play a random, the random generator generates a number. U can find this number in the map description. The last number tells u how far your opponent is actually away.
We might have moderation coming in to clean this out as a possible cheat. Let me argue for leaving it in. "How far away" doesn't tell you much. You don't know if he's up, down, north, south, or what. Your opponent could be all the way across the map but you reach him day 1 with a telegate, or he could be rather near, over a mountain you can't cross, and you won't meet for months.
For example, I just had a game where I started underground and my sawmill was a two week walk away (and hard monsters blocking the path)! Sure, the straight-line distance was just a day's walk, but there were rocks and black holes blocking the straight path.
So, this is just an interesting thing to know, a very good Oracle.

Additionally to this u can find out if someone changed the template to his favor. Thats maybe why i didnt play the BGs.
And this is an anti-cheating measure that you ought to explain in more detail.

Yes..couldnt have said it better. To see THIS as a cheat just shows that someone has no idea of the real cheats in this game..aka..hes an newbie.

No, cause to explain in those cases would only lead to real cheating, but to say in public that some people can see template cheaters maybe makes them nervous. Unfortunately the "Hall of Shame" is down anyway, and the current Honor Councils in all Tourneys can be called "unable" or even worse "no longer interested".
Motoschaaf (and his helpers in the dark) just were a perfect "cheater catching machine". Unfortunately several TOP Rank player got protection from higher places in TOH...especially the one called internally "The dropper"...hehe.

Splexx explained in public how ghosthero and townhero works, this doesn't mean it lead to more cheating.

to me if i play someone and am sure that he modified the template,u can bet ur arse he better be nervous.

So if there are so few "interested" people left who know this way of catching fraud, isn't that a good enough reason to share this with everybody else, so that this can be stopped?
