Your strategy .
I made this thread where we can discuss about, what kind of steps do you take while playing?
1)What kind of Castles you choose?
2)What kind of heros you like?
3)First what do you build, do you build building which grow your economics or you build building where you can recruit monsters?
And my choices are------->
1) I mostly choose castles like Rampart,Necropolis,Dungeon and Castle.
2)It depends on what kind of castle i choose if i choose:->
Castle: The main hero will be: Loynis-cleric, hero specialty "PRAYER"(spell).
Rampart:-> The main hero will be: Ivor-ranger, hero specialty "ELVES".
Necropolis:-> The main hero will be: Alislinn-necromancer, hero specilty "METEOR SHOWER"(spell).
Dungeon:-> The main hero will be: Jeddite-warlock, hero specialty "RESURRECTION"(spell).
3)Actually 1st I build building which grow my economice for 4 days and at 5th and 6th day I build building which i can recruit monsters. After 2 weeks my economic building will all be brought and after that I try buy build for the 5th,6th and 7th level monsters. In this way I can buy all my building in about 4 weeks.
This is my strategy . Not so good i think.

i always play rampart online with ivor as hero
i go for elf dwelling day 1 then upg. elf dwelling day 2 then castle then money.

I am well aware that certain individuals hate it when I post my ideas here in the Library, but I'll spend a few minutes talking about my strategies when playing single player.
1. What kind of Castles you choose?
I'm usually good with Castle and Rampart, although I have more experience with the former. I'll do fine with Fortress in a pinch, but every other town is just okay.
2)What kind of heros you like?
I enjoy Tazar, Kyrre, Cyra, and Thant (among others). I usually choose might heroes, but I do get a magic one once in a while. Both work well in different maps I've played.
3)First what do you build, do you build building which grow your economics or you build building where you can recruit monsters?
I usually build the Town Hall early because I tend to run low on money to build my level 7 dwellings without that 1000 gold per day. That is quickly followed by the dwellings and/or the buildings required by the dwellings. Near the end of the first week, I try to build either a high-level dwelling or a Citadel/Castle. The second week is basically getting the Town Hall upgraded as high as possible, followed by any dwellings I missed earlier.

One thing that I've noticed many people did not know is that you can station a hero inside the town garrison to defend the town just by clicking the hero's picture and then clicking on the banner of the garrison inside the town. This hero will not be visible on the world map and but yes that hero cannot move. This way, you can recruit more heroes than the maximum number of 8 heroes allowed. You can also use this method if you have 2 heroes needing to use 1 town on the same turn to refuel their spell points. Simply click 1 inside the town garrison and then have the other hero enter. Wait 1 turn and the next turn, both heroes' spell points will be back to maximum.

Yeah, I've been aware of that function, but I don't use it a whole lot. The good thing about it is that you can put a lesser hero to sleep (temporarily) until you call him/her back out again. A minor bad thing is that garrisoned heroes cannot access the Artifact Merchant.

i knew that since H3 was my first experience with heroes, not H2. i use this often and always on the first turn. when i play H2 i get annoyed at not being able to do it. its very useful

The way i use my Behemoths.
I use my Behemoths or Ancient Behemoths very well when my hero have learn the Tactics skill. At the start of the battle, i move Behemoths as close to the enemy as possible. Then, start the battle. Except for faster
enemy creatures, my Behemoths will usually be able to move first. I just move him over to the enemy and attack. Because of the Behemoth's ability to reduce the defense of the creatures it is attacking, you can
severely damage the creatures you are attacking. A very powerful first strike indeed.
How do you use this monster?

1st i thought i will loss, here is the battel scene----->
Here the battel begin,
And at this scene my Acient Behemoth finish Dread Knight easily. The Ghost Dragon had aready did number to my Cyclops King.
And the result, I WON.
I took this screen shot while i was playing with my friends. They don't have a clue about this. This is a kind of a prove i think.

Sorry about the screen shot they are small.
Vampire lords are cool monsters.I like Vampire lords they have the ability of no retaliation and also of regeneration. I like them when they sucks the energy from it and transfers the energy into itself. This allows it to restore lost health points, and even to revive those within the unit which have already be killed. This can be used most effectively against weak units that are numerous in numbers. I find out that this only applies to "living" creatures, so it does not work on Gargoyles, Golems, and all Elementals. Isn't this cool.

I hate it when the enemy hero retreats before I can attack with my Vampire Lords to resurrect the rest of them back. I think Vampire Lords work really well after being bloodlusted because they'll do more damage and get a lot of health back.
It makes the regeneration of Wights and Wraiths look so insignificant.

The same thing happen to me sometimes. Specially happen when lot of Vampire Lords units are loss.

I usually play with Inferno, dungeon or necropolis, when I don't play random.
My heroes for inferno are nymus or pyre, for dungeon are gunnar or alamar and for necropolis are vidomina, isra or thant.
I use for the first attack of the behemoth the spell frenzy, always kill all the enemy stack.

Which Castle benefit do you like?----->
1)Dungeon's Portal of Summoning
2)Rampart's Dwarven Treasury
3)Inferno's Castle Gate
4)Fortress's Defensive
I like Inferno's Castle Gate because if one of the towns is in danger of being attacked by an enemy hero and your heroes are not able to rush back in time to save it, you can simply recruit another hero, use the Castle Gate to zip to all the Inferno towns you have and purchase as much units as you can get (in addition to getting the +1 to Attack from the Order of Fire and the collective spells from all the towns' Mage Guilds), then return to the first town to await the enemy.

dungeons portal is useless unless u only have i falgged dweilling. fortress is ok but not that great. castle gate is great if u have alotta infernos but treasury is grabd if u have alot of towns limited money

I like Tower, love titans and the 2 fifth level spells.
I alyways play Solmyr, pretty lame i guess but he's cool looking and that chain lighting is so kick ass!
Iv'e just played 1 player scenarios and hot-seat with my mates, and we always go for the money first.
If i cant play tower i choose castle or rampart, Orrin or Ryland as starting heroes. Gotta love the leadership/diplomacy starting skills on Ryland!

Whoa!!! Portal useless?? Lets say you have an external dragon dwelling and you take it week 1. With harpies prebuilt you can get castle and portal with 1-6 dwellings built, if not, get citidel with portal. Week 2 go for dragons. With the external dwelling and portal week 1, Plus dragon dwelling week 2, you can have 10 dragons week 3 compared to 7. That is a big advantage if you ask me

I agree with Kru (even though im not proud of it).
Portal of summoning is the only one I ever build. Its usefull with all towns if only you have a few decent dwells.

yeah, dungeon is by far my favourite secondary town.
You got the portal, the mana vortex, and the sometimes useful artefacts merchant.
And yah, mana vortex wasn't mentioned btw. For its cost it's definettly one of the if not the best special building.
The library is another one that wasn't mentioned. Also if you're hunting for a particular school of magic, the conflux university is useful.
that dude saying portal of summoning is useless and castle gate being good, ignorance is bliss indeed

every map i play i hope for a dungeon as 2nd town for the reasons alrdy named.
If you play a poor map and get lucky with a high lvl dwell your portal can be the game decider.
On a game on balance i was planning on going for the shak attack with dungeon, but day 2 when i broke into 2nd area i got a beth dwell and day 3 the town.
Think i had 20 ancients week 4
the artifact toss i usually never buy, but mana vortex and primarily the portal can be a game decider.
treasury is nice as they increase gold for each one, meaning if you have 2-3 ramparts you can get a nice cashboost.
EDIT:
oh and for the inferno castle gates and fortress defense boosters... get real lol.
