harry potter. whot do you think about it?
i love the books thay are just grate infacted i just gety the new one and it is good. let me know if i am the only one on this site how loves these books or not.

i hate harry potter, i absolutly hate him. everything in the books are so crap. the biggest mistake with harry potter is that its set in our time. no body will believe there is magic in our time. its all bad. ive read 1, had to cause we were reading it as a class, and i never liked it. i saw the movie aswell and they cut so much out that it made it worse.

So basically Arthur C. Clarke's "2001: A Space Oddysey" is worthless as well? So is the Lord of the Rings, because who'd ever believe that Ents could ever have existed?
If believability is what in your opinion makes a good book, then I wonder what you're doing on a HoMM forum. Dunno about you, but I don't believe Kreegans ever existed or will exist, either here or in any other place in the universe.

woock, what i meant was that arry potters world is our world. in LOTR there is another, fictional world, as is HOMM. i dunno about that space thingy though. i just dont like many aspects of it, 1 being using wands. since HOMM didnt rely on wands, i thought like that

Then you find Dracula and Frankenstein believable? As far as I know, those two, as portrayed in the books, existed in this world as we know it.

well i dunno then but there is just something about 'arry potter that isnt right. its always been there for me. i didnt like it and i dont see why others like it so much that they line up for hours just to get it minutes after release. the book IMO wasnt that good
there is just something terribly wrong. when i find it its gonna come out, u can be sure of that

Oh, I don't really understand why people get so obsessed about it either, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the series. In fact, the latest book should be in my mail today...

lol. 2day at school someguy got the book delivered by the librarian and all hell broke lose. i also saw a kid today reading it at every spare moment.
i will watch the movies once they are all out and in one big set though

So then are we to think that there was magic in another time, but what.. we just got bored of it so all the mages gave it up for organized sport instead?
Or are we saying that there is no magic at all? In which case Harry Potter is only one of the many stories that is absolutely ridiculous - some of which Lord_Woock named already, but oh my what a long list we have now!

And wait a minute.... Heroes Community is built around the Heroes of Might and Magic series! And its set in this time too
lol, I'm sorry...but come on! Its a fantasy series, the lovely thing about books is that burning them isn't the only way to avoid reading them, you can just not pick them up. Those pesky words can't just jump out and get you if you don't have the book in the first place
I really find it silly to be so venemous against a piece of literature - unless its the novel IT by Stephen King. That book shouldn't have been written, ...clown.... *shudders*

Okay then
I actually really enjoyed the books, I don't believe them to be a catalyst that will change the face of literature for all time - but take em for what they're worth, a fun read.
I really didn't say too much about it, as this topic has come up before and I had posted there
I just find it very strange to "hate" books. Its one thing if its a topic that offends you - but seriously, why be offended by some pure fiction? I can understand not choosing to read it, and I can see annoyance at the shameless marketing - but Hate a book? c'mon...
There are many books I don't like, romance, predictable formula mysteries or those by authors that have a contract to produce a book a year - so they do, and they sacrifice any feeling of their work being art. I would never become seething and irate over the books' existance though, I simply don't read it

can someone tell me what happened so far? i read the first one and saw the movie of the first one but thats it. i found that the movie left out many things so i continued to read the book no more.
could someone give a very brief explanation?
