That MUST be MY issue....god who knew?!? ROTFLMAO

Actually MY issue is a genetic bone disorder called Ankelosing Spondelitis, that will eventually fuse my entire spine together AND put me in a wheelchair.

But I will sure to let my DR know that researched people think I might have IBS, and that is why I am an insufferable crabby person 24/7. LMAO

Sorry Jake I really MUST disagree with you on your research at this point, as I too, know several people who HAVE IBS in some form or fashion, and they are far from "CRABBY" people.
I was also in the nursing field for several years.

Having IBS doesn't make a person crabby, sure it will put a grinding halt to a lot of normal activities because of their constant, and sometimes unproductive, visits to the restroom....but the syndrome itself...the side effects don't say "crabbiness" anywhere.

Perhaps you have this confused with PMS?

I think, after you have the sickness for a while, you start to get a little frustrated and angry, maybe that is what Consis meant?

I often get frustrated and angry when I am sick, because I just want it to go away so I feel good again.

Perhaps, but to just slush everyone together because they are moody?
I know when I am sick, be it the flu or otherwise, the LAST thing I want to do is deal with people, but alas...I MUST.

There is also the idea that I am just NOT one of those shiney happy people all the time. I have, for all of my life been very somber and serious. Does that mean I have IBS? No.

I see where he was going...but I am not buying into it.

Consis says:

"I know some people with I.B.S. To the average person not suffering from it, these people are often seen as uptight, moody, weird, strange, always inexplainably angry, or simply not a people-person. The reasons, once people finally see why, is actually justified."

I don't sit around thinking everyone that acts that way is sick or can't poop. LMAO

Hi Setite Tart,

have you been tested for HLA B27?

Being recessive, this antigene is a trademark of males. Unfortunately, one of 10 carriers is a woman and I happen to be that woman myself. We are in the same lot really only though I already went through uveitis as well. The good news is that I'm not in a wheelchair and that I can still do backbends believe it or not.

I'm saying good news because there is medication to help keep Bechterew Syndrom at bay. I was diagnozed fairly early and I had to take meds for 4 years to be where I am now - away from the bamboo spine.

Sleeping with a pillow under you helps as well.

There's still light in the tunnel.

Hello...

Yes I was tested for that. I am only 33 years old, and it will take a lot more than AS to put me in a wheelchair. (At one point in my life I was active in many forms of dance and things like that...to a point I am still very flexible and intend to keep it that way for as long as I am able to) LOL I guess I am stubborn like that...I am fortunate to have have loads of great support from my friends, and what family I still claim...
I was astounded that I have AS, I was only recently aware that it is generally a male thing, since both my aunt and my mother have it as well.
In the weeks since I got the results, and finally have a name for my pain, it has been an on-going learning process for me.

It is AWESOME that you are not in a wheelchair, and I applaude your efforts to keep active and ahead of the game so to speak.

If I might ask, what kinds of medications did they have you on and do you still take them? I was told that I may end up being on Enbrol (?)at some point in the future...what do you know about this drug?

Also i was tyold to sleep without pillows to reduce "angles" that could end up "sticking" LOL (for some reason it reminds me just a little of the treats my mom used to make when I would make horrible faces at my sister..."Don't do that to your face it will stay that way" LOL)

Anyway, thank you so much for what you said here...nice to know I am not alone in any of this.

Lights in tunnels are good things right?

i think i might say what has happened to me now.

Well all was good today, I was finally able to breathe through my nose again (at about 1:00pm), and that got rid of my runny nose.

I no longer feel weak in my legs (that went away 2 days ago, since it is now 2:14 am here), and I no longer feel like vomiting.

Well now, my ears are still blocked, well one is (my right one), and the other sorta is, but isn't too bad.
My right one hurts like hell, and I have tried everything to try to pop my ears, like holding my nose and trying to breathe from my nose, but that didn't seem to work, so I have stopped trying to do that.

Now, my headache is sorta coming back, but my main problem right now is my eyes.

What's wrong with my eyes?
Well there is this white stuff that is coming from them, and both my eyes are very sore, and it is kinda hard to see at times, so I have to keep getting tissues and wiping the white stuff away, but even then it still seems sorta hard to see.

They are also quite red, and I have not even rubbed them, but I constantly see white in front of me, sorta transparent white stuff in front of me.
Sometimes it is there, and sometimes it isn't, it depends really.

This is really irritating me, and I have already lost many hours of sleep now because of my eyes and ears.

Man I hate being sick!!

And to think, next week is my birthday.
I hope I wont be sick by Thursday next week

Sounds to me like you have a massive infection. I hope they have you on something really good that will clear you up quickly.

I don't like being sick either man, but having kids in school, I am almost signed up for at least 2 bouts of the flu per year. LOL

Drink a lot of fluids, rest when you can and just take it easy, you will good as gold in no time right?

And I hope your birthday goes well. Happy Birthday.

Well most of the bad stuff is out of the way, which is good.

I just have a cough and some occasional sore eyes or headache, but my hearing is still a little bad.

Thanks for that, and my birthday is in 4 days

Edited by Guitarguy at 01:13, 24 Apr 2008.

I was under the weather for about a week in mid-March.  I had throat congestion, and the task of sleeping was most unpleasant.  After the first few nights, the fever died down and my strong desire to smother myself with a pillow gradually went away.  I was mostly better sometime during the following week.

My mom had also gotten sick around this time, though, and her symptoms were similar to mine.  But unlike me, she hasn't fully recovered from it yet.  She's still coughing and generally feeling tired all day.  That's about five weeks of being sick.  She was obligated to return to work after one week of sick leave, because her participation was needed for various projects.  There's also been a smoky "vog" affecting Hawaii a week or so ago.  Both of these factors probably contribute to my mom still feeling sick.  I'd really hate feeling junk for that long.

Edit: It feels like I'm going through relapse right now.

Red Bull's my favorite, but I went through the last supply.  Although it might've been the same.

Good news is, I feel better, I handed in a paper in time, and I didn't throw up like I thought I would.

Mostly flu(in winter). Maybe its nothing, but for me its hard. High temprature, headaches, vomiting etc. The most difficult for me is broken bones. I've had broken to ribs and my left leg. I still walk a bit difficult(which makes quite impossible to drive with manual gearbox :\) i got this injuries in a car crash. Some drunk university freshmen tried to show off and lost control of their car,and hitted mine. I was lucky to survive this, but my ride was completely smashed. Well,at least i've got my health. My bro got his arm broken when he tried to practice parkuoring. Also several times he got beaten up by his stepfather(drunk bastard)

Bah, I'm not sure it's an ilness, but I hope so.

Lately (for the past week or so) I have nearly doubled my sleeping time!
I am so friggin' tired most of the time. I can't even think about using my brain or bringing quality work...
They took a sample of my blood a few days ago and I hope I have a shortage of something, otherwise I'll be very desperate...
Anyone ever had this?

No, but I've had an extreme shortage of sleep lately. Yesterday I only had 3 hours of sleep.

Also, on Tuesday, I was working and not doing much and suddenly my heart started pounding and I nearly fell over. I'm kinda used to it now but it's rather annoying. Guess that is what junk food does to you.
