Poll Question: Town Poll
Ubi has said there will be one new town in HMM V. this poll is for vote and disscussion as to the nature of this town.
*EDIT* I Voted Water town, because everyone has been craving it for the past few town ideas.

i don't know but i sure would like to see units such as, an old guy wearing white clothes and have a white hair using time magics to alter the time or a small mushroom creture that poisons others on the battlefield. is there such units like this already in homm5?

That's kinda what I said to A_R_F/Lord_Pc back when he favored the Dragon-only town. I hope he understood my views. A Dragon town would be like too much of a good thing; powerful things. Somewhat akin to spending a month dining at a monster buffet but never leaving the dessert section.
I also can't see them downsizing the lower-level dragons for the purpose of game balance. Dragons of all types are supposed to be very tough, right? Let's say we now have a Level 1 Dragon that punches like a wimp and falls over when you poke it with your small finger? Hahaha, no way!

Alright, at least we have a start. Next, however, we must consider the sizable gap between the Eggs and the Dragons. Level 1 first and then Level 7 instead of Level 2? Maybe I'm taking this too far.

hey hey, any comments are good comments GG. i feel that my explanation was decent but since there is gonna be a dragon related campaign from every town i think a dragon town is outta the question, (or is it)
i go for a water town, feels like HOMM more than the others

Dragon Town already exists in Age of Wonders and it works fine:
http://aow2.heavengames.com/gameinfo/units/draconians.shtml
You'll notice they are called Draconians and resemble Lizardmen, while the "real" Dragon is only the strongest unit.
We were informed that Dragons will play a major role in H5, though...?
Just for the record, I voted "other" - I'd like a Dark Elf town, something in between Dungeon/Asylum and Svarog's Shadow proposal.
I'd hate to see a mechanical town - not only do I hate an SF/Fantasy mix, but also the Nival developers didn't do it so well in Etherlords.

i think a lizardmen/dragon town wouldnt be bad. maybe u call it a reptile town??? with aligators aswell or something
but i think i would like to see an elvish town. which has like elven archers, high elves, dark elves, elf mages and so on.
so many possibilites, so little noticed

I feel the same way about the Forge town. I thought the concept and ideas were absurd to begin with, and hardly fit in the Heroes realm at all. In the worse case, I'd choose the Dragon town over the Forge.

i also dont like the forge. i think i mentioned this somewhere else but a forge town mean tech. right?
if so then wouldnt the heroes be super inteligent cyborgs who can move from one side of an XL map to the other side in 1 turn. they would have metal detectors and find the grail eaisily. they would just nuke towns and not bother fighting.
doesnt all this make sense. forge town=imbalacnce

I wonder why a lot of folks think the Forge should have been implemented. That's like wanting a 3D FPS version of Heroes.
Oh wait, didn't they already do that with Crusaders?

Reptile Town it is!
Here's my allingment.
egg -> Dragon's egg
Hatchiling Lizard -> Baby Dragon (wouldn't that be a copywrite infringement on Yu-gi-0h?)
<< Lizardman -> << LizardWarior (from HMM 3)
Scaled Creature (Basilisk with 2 legs) -> Basilisk
^0^ Wyveren -> ^0^ Flameless Dragon
Hydra -> ^0^ Winged Hydra
^0^ Green Dragon -> ^0^ Black Dragon
^0^ = flying
<< = shooter

what would be interesting is if there was a Dragon Town but it was like the boss town.
For example you could have the final campaign have alliances of all the town against the dragon town. It could be pretty interesting.

This topic is kinda obsolete as it refers to the towns in the retail version now in stores, and we know what the towns were (the new one would then be the Sylvan town, I suppose).
