I think that TUM's avatar looks a lot like him too
Redsox's avatar is pretty telling, one of my favorites is Shadowcaster, I think it suits him really well - especially given the way he is prone to disappearing on you (especially in mid-IM conversation )

when i see pandora's avatar i wonder if she's naked while posting, but not porn naked, more like renaissance paintings naked (trust me thats a compliment, or atleast less of an insult than it could've been)

Jebus' avatar reminds me of those old, scary-looking Japanese noh masks the actors would wear in musicals and theaters. By contrast, his avatar doesn't look Japanese and isn't scary. I have the slight feeling that I'm talking to a mask most of the time.
Val's avatar doesn't remind me of anything except the fact that I kept mistaking the clothing for Monere's. I haven't gotten that anti-admin bug that's going around, so I'm not negatively intimidated.
Woock's avatar reminds me of some sort of cartoon character because of the two protruding front teeth. Unsure of the avatar's origin, I'm guessing it's from one of his comics.
Lkru's avatar reminds me of the main characters from Wolf3D and Doom. You see them looking buff and assertive at the beginning, but later they start grimacing and growling when they get badly injured. The avatar captures a bit of their passive looks.

Jebus avatar reminds me some sect fanatics,mr.nice guy looks really evil ,pandora some forgotten elven princess which missed to board the ship to their home,2extremeto take reminds me one race frm master of orion 2,romana beatiful gothic art and pain,and at least guitarguy,his avatar makes me really relaxed and peaceful

My favorite avatars have always been the ones that convey something about the person, be it their personality, their posting style, or even their quirks.
I think it's safe to say that most avatars show what the poster's interests are, and I'd have to say that those are less striking to me than avatars like Woock's or Lith's that show more about them than just any random picture would. I also enjoy it when people create their own avatars. It just seems more unique that way, even if it's the simplest drawing around.

guitarguy - The only people I personally know that would look at a sunset like that are calm, cool, and reasonable. Thus, I almost expect the same thing when reading guitarguy's posts.
Lord_Woock - This avatar is nothing but silly. When I first saw Lord_Woock's avatar, I started looking through his posts to find jokes. I think I still do.
Pandora - In this picture, the person isn't looking at you! Or at least it doesn't look like it at first glance. It reminds me of a person who is watching their friend's pet or kid for them, so while they talk to you, even though they're listening, they're keeping an eye on the troublemaker, too. It makes me perceive her words as those of an experienced, responsible, but exasperated caretaker.
IYY - I don't know why, but that avatar just seems to pointedly say, "You are not listening to me!" so I think of IYY as someone who doesn't say as much as they want to for fear that it will be lost on the audience, which leads me sometimes to start trying to figure out what it is he isn't saying.
Shadowcaster - Here I learned everything about the posting style just by looking at the avatar. To this day I have not been surprised, or read something that made me think, "No, the guy in that picture wouldn't say that."
Valeriy - Seeing this avatar reminded me of my uncle who makes the silliest face he can, and then reverts to a perfectly serious one when someone starts laughing and says, "You sound so happy. Did you just discover the meaning of life?" When I was little and we travelled east to meet him, I used to have philosophical talks over games of Pente with him. When I read Valeriy's posts, the only thing that's missing is the little Pente stones
Jebus - It makes me think of something to the effect of: "We are the Jebus. Resistance is futile. You will be-- oh, sorry, wrong speech. Uhh, hey, how's it going?" I'm not really sure how to describe how that makes me read Jebus' posts.

romana- her avatar scares me, sorry. but i dont view her posts that way
pandora- makes me think of a beautiful woman staring out to sea cause she has major problems. i am yet to figure this one out though. i always think "a person who knows thier stuff" when reading most of her posts
val- someone put thier beard on wrong this morning, but same as pan for this one
2X- starcraft dark templar, invisible, shadowy and smart
GG- makes me think of hawaii, beauiful and calm
shadowcaster- i think i like this avatar the best out of anyones on HC. its just so cool IMO. make me think of the great RPer
btw, what do u guys think of my dwarf avatar?

actally i am small for my age i think, well i am generally looking up when talking to friends. or another way to put it is that when its class photo day, the spot at the front is mine

P.S I use to use a mighty gorgon. That was even worse and more dull.
