Maps

So, it's been quite a while since the last time I visited the community. I see Angelito has gained more importance since my previous visit, which is good.

Still, I have a question. Or more of a problem, really. I have playing heroes for ages no. And I have a distinct feeling that it's increasingly difficult to find new maps. Is there nobody around who takes onto them the challenging task of creating maps on a regular basis?

Sure, it's not hard to find maps, but these are maps which don't interest me. When I speak of a real Heroes-Map, I mean AT LEAST a LARGE, 2-levelled map. You see, when I play heroes, I like to play it for a good 10-12 hours continously. Thus, all small and medium-sized maps are completely uninteresting to me. It has to do with my feeling of esthetics.

My ideal-map is Battle of Glory, known to someone as the Lost Continent. This map responds to all my preferences. It is quite close to perfect.

Does there exist other maps like this? I keep searching the web and the forums, but I don't find anything which is suitable. If you propose a map, I can tell you what is wrong with it.

Hope someone has some good news for me...

There are good maps out there from all over the world. It's hard for me to put one finger on one particular map. I know this sounds like I'm taking the safe bet, but it's true. Celestial Heavens and MapHaven offer some incredibly good maps in English. HOMM Portal offers good sized maps in English and Russian. Might I also recommend the ByteBandit Archives for another alternative. There are  between 1500 and 2000 maps available to chose from. There's bound to be something there you like because all we deal in, for the most part, are Medium to Extra-Large Maps to Campaigns.

Thanks for the information, ByteBandite. I am just wondering, have you ever played "Battle of Glory" (Lost Continent)? If you have, you have a good clue as to my taste in maps. Very big, rather abundant, but still very challenging. If you know any other maps which ressemble BOG, that would be perfect.

Thank you. -The Scholar

Yes I have played Battle of Glory. That was a good map. I like extra large maps with lots of stuff on them. There are quite a few maps like "battle" but the names escape me and I apologize for that. I know we have a large amount of maps like "battle" on the Archives from all over the world. The easiest way I can say to match a map like that on the Archives is to look at how big the download is. That should give you some idea of what you're looking for.

Yes, unfortunately, you have to join a group, or groups (We have 9 groups so far!)But it's worth it. Most people who join a group usually end up joing quite a few. We keep all the sites updated and interesting. Each group only holds 20MB of storage space. So, multiply 20MB x 9 groups and you get an idea of what you get. A lot of maps, a lot of campaigns, a lot of portraits, a lot of files and utilities. All pertaining to Homm3....and growing.
