There's a great number of people who often get a bit confused by bodybuilders being those synthol users which look marginally similar to this guy in the picture. Some experienced bodybuilders do use synthol or other similar susbstances, but in means that it'll help improving visuals without being too naïve or too ridiculous, as to give away or start looking disembodied.

Also, pretty much naïve the thought that they don't use anything or the thought that juicing do all the work by itself.

But something that must be kept in mind is this: bodybuilding is not a sport. It's a presentation. The means to reach such presentation are not for debate. That's why it's not judged anything on that matter. Just like ballet. You won't judge a ballet presentation by knowing how dancers trained, what they ate, what they did to get there. You'll judge the result. Same goes for bodybuilding. Now, when the training or juicing or whatever doesn't go as planned, it'll show and then, it'll be judged in the results in an indirect manner.

I'm an amateur and I don't even compete. I just like the activity as a whole and take it a bit seriously and, although I posted a pic of mine and some might judge me as a show off, I'm pretty much shy. I'm also very helpful when beginners are starting working out, when I see they feel insecure or embarrassed, I try to assist as much as I can.

The boundaries which sometimes I try to break are mainly personal curiosity and a challenge to myself, nothing related to what people think of me, although I can grow weary when people joke about something I cherish, as if penalizing me for being me.

Cool thing.
I'm thinking of starting to work out. Basic stuff, actually -push-ups and sit-ups. You know, to woo the ladies

Beeing a lazy teen that I am, I don't think I'm gonna make it far. I've been neglecting my body, and am only now seeing that I need to focus on this. One day I won't be able to lift my kid when he runs into my arms; that would really suck.

How do you keep a routine? Also, what's your diet?

I'm not severely tied to diets. Actually, I fluctuate a bit regarding that. This is something I must correct and be more disciplined about. As for YOUR diet, the best thing to do is finding a nutritionist and talk about what you want to do. Diets, just like exercises, are not miraculous. Each person has one's own results with different food, exercising and rest.

How I keep my routine, you ask? I simply like it. One cannot inject motivation into another person's mind. You must motivate yourself and see why it would be nice doing daily activities, rather than being engulfed by boredom, you see. Being bored (more than usually an adult gets) is an actual teen-thing that you must deal with and be aware of. Exercising boosts some hormonal spikes, one of which will make you feel good about it: serotonin. That's as far as a chemical  motivation can go and only one you should consider, specially when beginning.

Reminding that you are starting that your body must get used to this and that, do not haste it for results. See how it adapts, see how it responds, take care of it. I started when I was 19, almost 14 years ago and I never stopped.

Remember that you are whole and healthy. That you have your hands, your arms, your legs. Why not using and getting them stronger? You'll only miss them when you lose them. And that's when most people choose make something about it, when they lose it. Then, they become motivators. People must be motivated all the time. You have this life and this body (yet).

There are some guys I know (of my age) that frequent the gym and add supplements to their diet. I really don't think that's the wisest thing to do at this age, however I'm not very knowledgeable of this matter.
But thanks for the tips. Cheers mate!

No. I wasn't actually replying your comment specifically. Probably sounded like I was lecturing. I apologize for any misunderstanding. Juicing means, as you very well know, using some synthetic chemicals to enhance one's appearance or muscle fullness, and I got some experience in it, although not for a long time.

Anytime.

Regarding supplements, the best is also checking with your nutritionist the best quantity or which substances it would be an advantage to be supplemented. People tend, myself included when I was younger, to take in whatever they want or hear that it's good without learning better.

I would advice you to try and learn your limits at first, then after you have some experience in exercising and also in seeing how your body respond to your actual diet, you would add oriented supplementation.

If you have more questions or need any further help in this issue, feel free to PM me.

Ain't that funny. I thought you did because the remark was very fitting, even when you didn't know the term.

About opening a thread, would that be in Wastelands? I can open it, I just don't know what to talk about at first. Bodybuilding is a very personal matter and I would have to be very careful passing down info for people I never saw or met, specially because I'm not graduated in that area.

What I can to is give hints or sources for more info, if one wants to delve into the subject.

You could also write about your own experiences and let people draw inspiration from that, only if you feel like it of course.
BB forums' main crowd pullers are usually personal training logs, I guess.

If you don't want the thread to be deleted, I think it's better to post in osm or tavern. Just make it clear what the intend of the thread is, so it doesn't develop in ways you didn't intend for.

Put the thread in the Tavern, that seems like a good place to start.

I mean if you go into your exercise regime and diet, that would be very interesting.  Wog Edn, who hasn't been on for ages, would have definitely appreciated your input.
