i actually do this. if a books cover is bad and no effort is put into making it, i wouldnt pick it up. but if the cover looks detailed as though great effort was put into its making, i would pick it up

The saying of "Don't judge a book by its cover" does not have anything to do with books. It actually means do not jugde a person before you get to know them.
