Yea but check out the rules.. they have some definate weaknesses there.

1st: they are allowing necromancy, so if u pick that, ur doin pretty well.

2md: they have a rule against dwarven tunnels and some other templates even though they are not allowed (must restart if no fort or more than 1 towns) - this means that if you know how the smod templates they play work, u have the good info about war arena.

3rd: DD is allowed, and they also feel that week 5 the game might still be played. It would be wise to ask if DD may be used to bypass zone guards, or if it counts as misplaced. Anyways, this allowes for some great rush strats.

I would reccomend:
1. Pick necro, farm skels.
2. Learn the allowed templates.
3. Rush them.

Seems like one possible strategy given these rules. But remember that these guys might be allowing hit & run, castle sitting, etc.. unless its specified, since they have been playing heroes in a different place, they have different heroes culture.

I think that rules is nice, exept difficulty. I more like 200%. Try only 3 games on 160%. 1 win and 2 loses.

well the rules are ok indeed with a little practice will be no problem at all.
however i must withdraw from this as i have just found out that Toh is becoming a real farce,i will explain wether relevant to this or not;in almost 2 years of playing for toh i have refused to report maybe 4 or 5 games in wich my opponents have blatantly broken agreed upon rules and gone on to win or achieve a winning position, some of them have complained to the council,so the moderator lichking comes to zone and threatens to close my account or take away 100 points next time it happens,he says to report game and then he will deal with it.well since i am a very fair and honest player i did just that in the last game where my opponent disregarded the fight misplaced guards rule and reported loss instead of not reporting and then sent in saves, well nothing was done at all as you all guessed i'm sure.Well i don't need to play for a tournament run by a biggoted biased moderator who is dumber then a doorknob,i much prefer to play for leagues like oracle or archangelcastle where there is 0 tolerance for cheating.GL to you all vs the ruskies
P.S. how in the hell does a guy with 6wins and 13 losses become a moderator and achieve highest honour status 19 games = max.69% honour i believe lol a joke indeed.
have a nice day

Druid, I know you beeing a honest and skilled player. You could give it up like a man, and not by writting such a lame post. I guess you were angry.

Moderators did a wonderfull and hard work during YEARS, and that has nothing to do with their score in HoMM(hopefully).

If the highest ranked ever player had to be moderator(aka Flamingo), this forum would be closed already and dead, as TOH.

I think there are two solutions for people breaking rules: you report loss and never play him again or you play without rules, real HoMM3.Once you got cheated, it is not worth it to come here angry and deny what ToH is, the best HoMM tournament in last 6 years, and surely in next 6 years.IMHO.

PS: I dont deny Oracle league, but it still has to make its proofs, if I remember well, Oracle closed several times, letting players out from nowhere.

Of course, if you dont report, that has to be punished, whatever the reasons are.

If you complain about opponent breaking rules, nothing can be done, because ToH DOESNT support ANY rules in the game. That always was its politic and you were aware, isnt it?!

If by this you think about Vesuvius, you make a very very hard mistake.

"Vesuvius

Just the mentioning of his name is enough to break many players. If one had to sum up Vesuvius in one word, the word would be INTIMIDATION. Contoversial and outspoken, Vesuvius talks about what he will do and then backs it up with the best play ever. "Time to shut you down.", he says. And you grit your teeth because you know he is going to do it. "

This can be found here:http://isle.autumnsadventure.com/enter.shtml

This was the best homm2 tournament in the world for years .At that time, Vesuvius HAD free time and showed people what he can do.

I need to clarify a few points you made here Salamandre

1) The Oracle League of Heroes 2 days closed once, and it did so permanently, that is until I reopened it recently for Heroes 3 and 4, in preparation of Heroes 5

2) The Isle League site you posted is indeed where Mocara wrote that about Vesuvius. The Isle League was run by myself and Mocara for about 2 years. The Isle League was also the tounament site that closed several times, and at its peak had only 120 players.

Also, The Oracle League was run by Beowulf for 4 years and who is also giving his full support to the Oracle League now, and will return with Heroes 5

This was one main reason I had changed my online nickname. Running the Isle League, I made some very large mistakes. Because of those mistakes, the Isle League closed, reopened, and closed again. The Isle League left many players out with no decent tournament to go to except ToH. I did not want that kind of view of the new Oracle League.

Fortunately, times have changed, and things are coming along quite nicely with the new Oracle League. I have support from many people, including AngelSpit of Celestial Heavens, Beowulf from the Oracle League of Heroes 2, Prometheus, Rychenroller, Mocara, and others. Also, reports are continuing to flow in, and new players are registering every day.

So, with those points clarified, I will step back out of this thread

Warning!
Druid, please edit your post on this part: who is dumber then a doorknob

I understand being angry about getting cheated by other players, no doubt. There should be better ways of prevent cheating at all. But still u shouldnīt "attack" the admins of a tourney for just stating a fact they posted in their rules (Breaking of player made rules will not be judged by the Council!). Perhaps u shouldnīt try to play ALL players in the world, but the ones u can trust. Will be lesser games for you, but for sure better ones.
And donīt expect, only "highest honor" players will register for Oracle. Any tournament where u can gather points and rankings will be a place u will find "bad guys".
I pretty sure you are a very honorable player, coz u reported many losses besides your wins aswell, which is not typical for so called "point huggers".
But lately i get the feeling you suffer persecution complex.

There are 2 easy solutions to your problem druid:

1. Play with no rules
2. Take the loss and never play that guy again.

To Druid,

Since you wanted to bring your laundry to the message board to air out, I'm going to help you do it.

We've been back and forth discussing ToH's stance on not supporting player made rules.  I thought my last email to you explained everything, but it seems that you still feel that you've been wronged.

When you talk about playing for two years and only having 4 or 5 games that you've refused to report losses in because of your opponent breaking rules I almost have to laugh.  I have received at least 4 or 5 complaints about you in this season alone.

ToH's policy about player made rules has been posted on this message board several times.  It has been posted on the ToH mainpage (less than 1 year ago).  You have been notified about this policy in numerous emails.  It has been posted in the Honor Council pages for years now.

If you think you are going to crusade to change a longstanding policy with success then you are sorely mistaken.

Consider yourself banned from ToH.  As soon as I finish this post I will be disabling your account.

I won't bother with a HoS listing for you, though.  It isn't worth the time or hassle.

Pity this couldn't have worked out........

--LichKing

[Edit]  As an afterthought--You're worried about my record and Honor Rating?  'Highest Honor' comes from receiving the MVP award.  Do a little searching on the site and you'll see what that means.  Not that you'll ever have to worry about receiving one, though

Bravo lichking
Banning me from toh to satisfy your own little vendetta...Brilliant!!
It really seems to me here that i am having a battle of the wits with an unarmed man
Let me say this; i am not "crusading" your looong standing policy,i was merely pointing at YOUR total lack of action against cheaters and blatant rule breakers
Maybe it hasn't occured to you that honest and fair players are getting a little scarce lately
Sometimes when one is at a loss try asking for help,as there is a very simple solution to all of this, but if you prefer to throw your weight around and play the heavy then so be it.
And since you don't think anything needs to be improved in toh and you're too proud to ask for a solution i will simply say this then:
you win-GG
 sincerely yours-Druid

Actually Druid, in the Toh context, you are the rule breaker, by trying to break the only rule: "Toh does not enforce player made rules"

I know this post is going off-topic but...

@Sal
Oracle closing.  That was my fault and it closed only once.  I took the league over from Beowulf, allowed the current main tournament to finish and then closed the league.  I believe had noone taken it over, Beowulf would have closed it himself, but he did not and I did and so if anyone was let down over this, I am the one to blame.  I had my reasons but wont lengthen this post to discuss them.

EDIT: I cant help but add that Beowulf did an amazing job running Oracle those years.  He had volunteers but all we did was nudge people to finish their games to keep tourneys on schedule and test a few maps.  All of the site updates (with extensive HTML and graphics), planning, tournament development, etc, - it was a one-man show - and to be honest I will never know how he managed it all.  I know that Vesuvius has managed the same miracle for years and that others like AM and the Wiz are putting forth the same effort today and Vesuvius continues to manage ToH despite serious challenges. /hats off to all of you.

Come to the zone guys (H. portal) and then we do not need to BS with ICQ and e-mails!

We are not afraid, just bored of this fiddling and farting around, which has been going on for a few months.
