Final toh tactics by Frank

This is the last tactic i will share with the homm community.  I've just learned it from Petrus.

When you start a game, play the first week or so and if you see that your land is pretty bad or if you see that your opponent has great heroes, simply quit the game.

Of course I'm being sarcastic but I've just witness this situation first hand and it does work.  Is it fair? No.  Is it how it should be? Maybe.  But I for one don't like it at all.  I've always played with whatever i got and tried my best to at least give a challenge to my fortunate opponent (starting zone wise).  It seems I've done that out of stupidity rather than by sportsmanship or so I'm being told now.

I must say TOH as been great to me, for such a long time and I want to thank all the contributors involved.
But the recent events regrettably forces me to retire.  For those of you with whom I had great games, I'm sorry to leave like this. I hope you understand.  For those who thought bad things about me, rejoice.  You wont be seing me again.

- Frank.

Hey Frank!

I am really glad, that you opened this topic, cause at least now everyone knows what kind of player I am LOL. You know ,you are one of the biggest whiners here, and am happy that there will be one less on zone from now on. I don't even bother to tell my perception of that situation you referred back to. I told Vesuvius everything and he could see through your tricks and am glad, that how he reacted to your bullsnow!

Hope you will have a more productive life without this idiotic HEROES, take care! You know at least you can take DRAGON-BOATING more seriously...

p.s: I do not know how many times u "LEFT" TOH and ZONE though

...errm? (putting out the dirty dishes)

Funny how things remind me to my 2 "losses" i had with Frank the last "regular" season on TOH.

The first game was something like i was more then very drunken and told so on the zone..darn was i drunken..still Frank wanted to play with me...i said it had no use but hell i was bored. So on day one on a fixed map i was so drunken that i upgraded the gargs instead of the gremlin...lmao.. i said that to frank and OF COURSE he gave me NO reload and told me "to live" with it i would still have a chance...well i better went to bed. On the following days Frank stapped me to report ..well i did cause it seems he desperately needed wins even for a day 3 game...lmao.

Normally i wouldnt play him again, but unfortunately i did: Although he had dessa he was so darn slow on Desert war...all his scouts were running around with gremlins..lmao. So even as odds were against me i managed to get right sight library and the art for the helmet on day 8. So i decided to take a risk and moved to the left side library to increase my stats even more. Frank wasnt even at "his" library by that time so i decided to risk it just with one Firebird on (both stronghold) cause i had a speed art. So dessa catched me cause 3 days late Frank finally arrived at his library..already thinking that he would win. Unfortunately for him i had this speed artie...so i put a magic arrow on some hobgoblins and fleed....guess what??..he claimed that i did "hit and run" on him and wanted me to report.

On the first game i had with him i was a newbie with about 10 games on his list. He didnt wanted to play my map, and we made a game on desert war...a map he played about 100 times before to get his Azure Dragons.

The second game was a "Battlefest Map", this style was also new to me..but well i played for fun, and i thought it is fun to play "one of the best". In this style it is only allowed to have 1 hero after day 1. So i played like this. What frank did was to stand near a town buy one hero to take slow creatures from main to this town and then dismiss the scout. He said "it is ok as long as there is only 1 hero left on end of turn". Well the newbie i was i believed him.

Also Frank did some massive drops on serious Clan Games when he was about to loose to AndiAngelslayer and Motorschaaf. Also it was known of one of Franks habbit to make saves that wont be continued if he was about to loose.

So dont talk about sportmansship here.

My personal experiences with petrus as a player were always good.

Xarfax1

PS: Was fun to put out some dirty dishes lets see some more!!

Xarfax,

I will highlight the truth in your gratious farewell message.

For rated games, I dont give reloads and i dont ask for reloads.  I dont ask for saves.  I never was enthusiast about playing a saved game.  I played a lot of games.  I'm very focussed in all my games.  When i continue a game from 10 games ago I have no clues of what i was doing.  So I always prefered conceeding BOTH winning and possibly loosing situation as well. In any case, I can assure you i got all the loses i deserved for such games.

I've had drops.  Almost all in the season you are referring to when i had dial up.  Never intentionally.  And I'd be back as soon as ''internetely'' possible.

I'm not sure I've played desert war more than 20 times lifetime.

You speak a lot on my behalf.  You have no clues of what i was thinking.  You know very little of me.

I dont know why you played a 2nd game and apparently a 3rd game with me if the first one was such a disasterous experience for you?

One last thing.  Defending Petrus is perfectly ok.  I've had great games with him until the last 2 and the fact that I quit toh isnt related to him btw.  But was it your foremost intention ?  If you think that writing just about anything here will affect me in any ways you are wrong.  I have no sorrow, bitterness or any bad sentiments of the sort.

I simply move on.

I wish you all the best and the same goes for everyone I spent time with playing this great game.

Frank, some things will never change. Examples of this are:

Noobs will be in every game, trying to change the way things are done because they cannot increase their skill to compete with the great players

People will whine and snow and moan about stupid things, and when someone confronts them with it, they will call the person doing the confronting the whiner.

When people do not get their own way, they will do everything they can to bully someone or something into giving them what they want.

It is such in every online game.  Warcraft 3, Counter-Strike, Heroes, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, etc.  Someone doesnt like something, they grief.  Someone doesnt like losing, the winner is called a cheater, whether they did or not.  Never is it that someone doesnt like something so they quit. It is always the winners fault.  A stark opposite of what sports is like.

You are welcome in the Oracle League for any Heroes game you wish, including Heroes 5.  We will all welcome you as a true "Great" should be, with open arms and an open mind.

Wiz isnt doing ass-licking, he  knows quite well Heroes history. And obviously you dont. Frank is history, as it is Vesuvius, Prometheus and many others, now far away from Heroes.

Playing "desert war" again and again will not put you ever in history. You still have much to do to have the right (xarfax included, no offense) to talk like that about Frank.

And grow a bit before thinking that Vesuvius is on your side, as you wrote in your post.

Salamandre- U R the biggest ass-licker here sorry Wiz u r only the 2nd now.. By the way I can play anything, from random to dw (it is my choice to play what I want or not, maybe you shoudl tell me), but you really do not know anything about me, and about my H3 history as it is obvious. And putting Vesuvius on my side- no comment am I right Ves?

Take care and hope to hear from you soon on zone, you can show me your skills MR

You really have no idea what honor is, do you petrus?

As Salamandre said, Frank IS what Heroes is about. Let me go down the list of who Heroes History is...

Beowulf - The one that started EVERYTHING with the Oracle League in 1996. Without him, or The Oracle League, NONE of this would be what it is today.

Prometheus - The BEST player for Heroes 2, and one of the ones who kept the Oracle League doing what it did best, keep a PROFESSIONAL atmosphere around Heroes gaming.

Mocara - Very opinioinated, and usually right. He is to Heroes what you should all try to be. Opinionated in a vocal and NON-THREATENING way.

TRoPPo - One of the best players to come out of nowhere, beating Vesuvius in his first online Oracle League game (if I am not mistaken)

Sir Alkis - One of the most calculating and honorable Heroes players ever, nothing more need be said.

Vesuvius - Quite a calculating and fearsome opponent. Someone who could say "time to shut you down" and then do so.

Salamandre - One of the best FIXED map makers you will ever find. Very balanced and fair maps.

---------------------------------------

These are the kinds of people you should all be trying to play against more often than not. I know there are players who should be on that list, but I do not know them because I have been playing other games.

My point is that before you try to destroy someone for playing a game they have probably been playing for longer than you have been able to walk, get some fact straight and grow up.  As for Vesuvius being on YOUR side, why dont you get HIM to post here instead of having his name thrown around like he is your snow.  I seriously doubt that he is your snow Petrus.

Rychenroller: 6 years?  Thats a long time. So you know, I have been playing online since Heroes 2. Vesuvius, Prometheus, Frank, Salamandre, Jarcik, Endor, and Mocara have all also been playing for about as long as I, so I am no noob either.  My point on noobs was the incessant "cheater" or "hacker" name calling when one player loses to another.  Even "veterans" can be noobs with those kind of unfounded claims.

...erm, first i would like to note that ive never mentioned the described experiences with Frank before, cause this games are long time ago and there is really no anger from my side, cause i play for fun.

So why did i mention them?

For me it is totally ok to say "the last good-bye" here in this forum (i did this like 2 time too ). Many people would have said a good-bye to Frank too.

Not ok is to picking on another honorable member, by pointing the finger on him and say smthn like "its because of him, im so hurt, he cheated me". Additional to this putting on a lame "im the real sportsman"-additute that just dont fit to Frank. In my eyes hes very honorable...but like everyone he had his "weak" moments especially in the real H3 "competitive times".

The described situation really occured. There was nothin i pulled out of my fingers. Maybe im the only one that had those bad experiences.

The_Witz u can call me a noobie whenever u want..i dun care. After 5,5 years im the mother of all noobies

The Wiz,

Let's finish this. If you do not know what really happened, then don't start BS-ing. I do not have any problems with you, just talked to Kuma and he said that you are a good guy & you are only defending your friend- I believe him, so no problem at all. About the honor.. well I can't respect him of what he did/ the way he is complaining about a totally  innocent situation.; you did not see how he was threatening me with his messages , could not stop laughing though...

About Vesuvius... I do not need to ask him to post here, cause he has better things to do, than dealing with this lamentable thing.
Another thing- I am a veteran too and know about this game some stuffs, so don't start this veteran-respect bullsnow.... it's irrelevant

Hope to see ya on zone...

Peter
