i like the h3 one, the h5 one looks too dressed up

Wow, the H5 lich is incredible. It's one of my favourite units so far. However they could have made a bit more difference in the upgrading. It just looks different in colour.

Yea the homm5 is great, looks alot more powerful. From a gameplay point of view, it says that the Death Cloud does not affect undead, so does it that mean when its a necro vs necro battle, the lich can only melee? or do they cast other spells too?

I like EVERYTHING about it! The attitude, the clothes, the details... especially the book!  The staff could've been longer, though!

Nah, it's probably H3 style - hitting just one undead stack.

The H5 one is by far the best. I think its the best looking necro unit.
I like the bone dragons a lot too, though.

Linch?
The new linch looks like Carmem Miranda to me. The only thing missing is some bananas in its head. It is the most horrible thing I ever seen.
The HOMM3 linch is way better.

What I don't like about the H5 one is that they replaced the Wizard's Staff with a sword. The cone-shaped gown also needs getting used to, but it's okay if you think of the Lich as a figure on a chess board. The concept drawing was even better. My vote goes to H5 nonetheless.

The one in II looks like an Undead king,the best,my opinion.the 3 one looks pretty good.In 5..what's with the book?and that color....

i dunno what's so cool about em! That green color makes them looklike gras covered skulls,did u EVER see a lich carrying a sword? and that book,lame...

It is not a sword, it's a dagger... and have ever seen a lich ? And they do have staves, when they shoot.

if you check all the other necro units you'll see that the lich is actually one of the least green ones(in fact there are no green gas comming out of its body at all, the only green thing are a few spores in the air), and what's wrong with the spellbook? it fits quite well

It would have been H2, but since the death cloud attack also attacked undead creatures (i.e. your own), my vote goes to the H5 one.
H3 simply looks weird, with no skin at all. It's more of a Skeleton Mage than a Lich, to me.

I voted for the Heroes V Lich due to the fact that a lich is a dead mage, or something to that effect. Where the Lich from II and III have a chain mail, and I think that the so called "dress" fits the lich in Heroes V. What does a mage wear? Oh that's right a robe, not a dress!

I voted for the H2 Lich and especially the Power Lich. The H5 Liches look powerful because of their larger appearance, but the H2 versions look more wicked and threatening. The H3 Liches didn't look very special, and definitely not threatening.
