just imagine that there is only one person in the bandit group. it would be difficult for that person to RP since they have no one to converse with.
remember that the main idea is to hunt down a dragon, and i wouldnt imagine that there would be too many ppl residing close to the dragon
i wouldnt like there to be just 4 or 5 RPers. i would like as many as possible so create that "adventuring party" feel, like that of M&M or baldurs gate

Well I think you should go ahead and start up the RP whenever you want. You can count me in for certain.
If anyone else has any other ideas, then either post it here if you think it's missing something or just go ahead and post it.
I decided to post an idea for an RP. Not sure if anyone would find it to be interesting, but I thought an exploration type RP, might be nice.

If anyone wants to try and revive the Saga series, then by all means do. I'll gladly sacrifice Saga Concluded so that people can steer their own characters. The massive amount of autoing necessary to complete that thread made it too time-consuming to complete anyway. Believe me when I say that it's much easier to work with characters over which you have full liberty.

Ok I've got another idea. Basically it would be a simple RP where everyone starts out in a dungeon. However there would be a GM that would guide you along your journey, give you twists and surprises as you make your way out of the dungeon.

yes, i was going to post that it "what RP do u want to see" thread. it would be great fun. like a cross with D&D and baldurs gate
but ofcourse the bad side would be that someone must guide us through everything which would put a big strain on them, especially if they want to have a character aswell
but i would definatly join

i will start an OOC thread in a few days so we can discuss more and make characters. i have some assignments due this week and i really want to focus on them. i will make the thread on saturday

I'd just like to point out that many people did a great job creating new RPs or getting things going in old RPs. However the real work now is posting consistantly. Choose at least one that interests you and stick with it.

Hey guys wats happening?
I used to post heaps here so heres a few of my personal favourites.
I always liked RP's that had an rpg element to them. They included Saga of glade river by Sox, Tanaran by that wierd guy and me, and lastly LHW when it first began. These were probably the rp's that had the most potential in my eyes.

Over the past few weeks I've realized that school has been very busy and I've only had time to check to see if there have been any new posts. Only because there has been almost no activity I've been able to read what's been posted lately, but I'm gonna change a few things with how I spend the time in my day and try to work in things like writing into my day. So I hope to be posting, however it disappoints me that there has been little to no posting lately.
So I'd like to thank TA for continuing to put in substantial effort into a Glade Revival. It felt like once the RPs were all started up, people gave half-hearted efforts into them. Posting maybe once.

I just got an interesting idea. For those who have been around for a while, I thought it might be a cool idea to have two person RPs, three person RPs, or one person RPs. It seems that lately a lot of the RPs are difficult to keep going. So I am going to strongly encourage any people who wish to write stories on their own, or with another one or two people. These RPs will have the advantage of easy revival. The main thing that has stopped so many other RPs from being revived, is one or two key posters who are MIA. So by having more stories that are composed of only three people at the most would be easy to revive maintain.
I would strongly encourage people to collaborate and write stories together in this manner. I certainly loved it back when people were doing solo threads a lot. All of them were fantastic imo. I'd love to see some more.

That's not a bad idea RSF. There are plenty of times when I have wanted to just keep on going with something but couldn't due to waiting. For example, LHW. I posted there like two weeks ago and finally Shadow took the initiative to post. WHERE HAVE ALL THE PEOPLE GONE???

It sounds to me the general consensus is that people are busy with schoolwork and exams. So perhaps it's best that we find a new way to do RPs in a more leisurely manner, so that the stories can be picked up whenever we have some free time.
So these "Private" Roleplays, may be the way that Glade might have to run for a while until we have some regulars that are posting consistantly.
I will greatly support anyone who decides to start up one of these PRPs in the same manner that I would support a successful a regular RP. As a side note, there are numerous RPs that are currently dormant that could easily be turned into one of these PRPs.
Here's my list of possible RPs that I think would make good choices as PRPs.
Dread Pirate
Legacy of the Shakars
North Land
Axis
The Saga
Obviously it would be up to the authors of these RPs as to whether or not they would like to make these PRPs. The style, which would be required to write these would take greater communication and collaboration. There would have to be a moderate amount of discussion as to what is going to happen next because all of the characters are being written by only one or two people.
You might also find that all characters are not controlled or developed by one single person, but rather as a joint effort by two or more people. So you should work with people who you think you can get along with. This process can be loads of fun. I have done this w/ Shadowcaster consistantly since I came to call Glade my own back in the early days of LHW, but also with several other members here from time to time.
It's very fun and I think that you get out of it what you put into it. I really hope that everyone who decides to try this has fun with it and I'm sure we will all see some fantastic stories.

A PRP is basically any thread that that is written separate from the community. Such as solo RPs, like Baldur's Gate Diaries or The Forsaken War. That is a "PRP."
I'm proposing that the members here do this type of writing, but with two or maybe three people.
The advantage of the PRPs is that because it's only being written by two maybe three people is that it will be a lot easier to revive. Threads like Tanaran and Axis have had to be restarted on numerous occasions because of the various people that join the RPs and then disappear. Other RPs like Height of the Guild also cannot be revived because members like Korejora, Asmodean, and Gasketh are not around anymore.
Let's make an example. Let's say I make a PRP with Shadowcaster and you, 2Xtreme. Then I make another one with just Lord_Pc. They get going pretty good, but then all of us get kinda busy. Then say in February I come back and want to revive some of my PRPs, but Shadowcaster is too busy with school, however Lord_Pc is not busy and is available. So I continue my RP with him. But then he has personal problems and doesn't have the time for a while. However Shadowcaster is available later that week and so the three of us continue our other RP.
However if the four of us made one RP with all of us, we couldn't have revived it, because either one person or another was too busy at the time or if we did manage to get it revived, it would be held back, by one person not posting.
For now, I think we should maybe focus on PRPs until we find some success there to get some momentum. I think that if these PRPs are successful, everyone will know exactly how much time they are capable of committing and if they feel that they would like to join on a regular RP, like LHW for example.
Edit: I know that many people have told me they don't have the time to join an RP and don't want to join and then hold us back, because they are too busy to post consistantly. Well see that's where the PRPs come in. This is something that everyone can pick up when they want when they have the time and without any worries of people not posting and holding up the progress of the RP.

In my IM, RSF, I asked what a PRP was.. now that I've read this thread I have a pretty good idea, but my IM's dont work unless I'm replying it just says "Error on page" when I click IM
