HoMM 5 Djinn has my vote. You cant look at it and then tell me it doesn't look cool.

The whole outfit and scimitar fits in extremly well with the Academy theme, the huge hands show just how powerful it really is, and ... well i guess it could use a head.

I guess it never will get aHEAD in life
...sorry, i couldn't resist!

According to moslum mythology, a djinn could appear in any form it wanted to. therefor, they could appear without heads if they wanted to.
However, i don't like the random spellcasting crap. djinn should be able to cast, not types, but certain spells of these types: Detonation/destruction; fireball, lightening    illusion: phantom     protection: stoneskin, bless, deflect arrows, ect.

And that would make him completely overpowered. There have been units who were on low level, but could cast loads of spells, but later they were removed, since you weasily could abuse them by splitting into stacks. I think that random casting is suitable enough, since Djinns aren't casters, they are fast flyers and fighters. The random spell casting is just additional "help" since they have low Hit Points.

I liked the unupgraded H3 Genie a lot because of its allusion to I dream of Jeannie and the cloud of H4 was great too.

I haven't seen it in motion, but the H5 Master Djinn gets my vote, because of its originality and its very exotic appearance. And while I minded the weird proportions of the H4 Genie (because it was intended to be realistic), I don't mind the H5s design exaggerations (except for the gloves which are overdone overdone), and the scimitar is fine for me. Some details like the earrings and the wrapped around cloth are really great.

What I find strange about the concept is the missing fingers and the fur on the cap which looks more Mongolian than Arabic/Indian. It somehow doesn't fit the desert theme with which Academy is associated in the screenshots. I mind the nonexistent head - and neck - too, though I find the idea of the cap covering part of the face amusing. It seems intended as a fun creature and I think that is very well accomplished.

Those were just suggestions, not the acctuall things. i meant that they would have only about three spells altogether.

I voted for the old HOMM II Genie. I think that the new one sucks, because first of all, it lost its role as an orderly, mysterious, wise, almost immortal, magical being. Instead of that it became a "chaotic spirit". Such a description suits the efreet more than the Ginie in my opinion. Where is the new Genies head? why cant we see it? is it present at all? we can just see a "cap" and that is strange. Another thing that bothers me is the proportions of the  new Genie. Where are the proportions? no head, huge palms, small body (and no lower body of cuorse, just a cloud of energy). All those make the new Genie a failure.
The HOMM I Genie isn't bad, but it looks like a sultan on a carpet. That doesn't spell Genie for me.
The HOMM IV Genie is good, but I think that the Genie is always described as resembling a male (they are genderless I think, but take male humanoid form). That also checks out the unupgraded HOMM III Genie. The HOMM III Master Genie is great, but I have my doubts about the need for an oriental vest (why would a Genie need clothes?).
Besides, I think that the buff look of the HOMM II suits the Genie more than the oriental one of HOMM III.
If I were to make a Genie, I would make a modern tech one that has more of the old HOMM II look but the spell casting abilities of the HOMM IV Genie (but also decent physical stats, as much as it can be allowed without making it to powerfull and throwing the game off balance)

The genie heroes are back.  Apparently, djinn must earn their heads by acquiring hero status.

One of them fights Chaos magic in her bio...a remnant from the genie/efreet split?

Liked the H4 one best. Also liked her cause she wasn't a random caster like the others.

H2 Genie Looks the best. Simple, looks powerful, has a nice design and he has head!
But the idea of sitting Genie in H1 was cute.
