Quote: In game, right-click on the "chat bar" (the brown bar at the bottom of your adventure screen), then right-click on the mine you want to transfer to your ally. When asked if you want to renounce the ownership, choose "no" and then you can transfer it to the other player (for a small price).
Thanks!! Can't believe I missed that. I think I tried clicking just about everywhere else.

Sorry for asking a really dumb/obvious question, but can this work on the version of HOMM 3 you get from GOG.com? I'm considering downloading Heroes 3 and whether or not I can get this mod is part of what I'm basing considerations on.

I'm not familiar with GOG.com, but if the download is a commericial release then yes. BUT - you would also have to download and install the Wake Of Gods module which is free - don't let them charge you for that!

OK, thanks. I was just wondering because that site (GoodOldGames.com) has it built in with emulator stuff so it runs on Vista and without a CD.
I never knew about this mod before my computer with HOMM 3 crashed so I'm interested in trying now.
Thanks again!

You will love it! But it takes some getting used to. You can play any map you want with WOG features, but sometimes these features render the game either too easy or impossible. Before you start a game, you can click on the "WOG Options" button and you and choose from dozens of game options. Your favorite options can be saved as a file to be used over and over again.
My recommendation: Don't try everything at once! The changes and features are just too overwhelming. Do a little at a time.
One more tip: If you go back to playing normal HOMM3 - Shadow of Death Expansion, you will notice that the trees are still animated (they move as if being blown by wind). This is normal, no other effect on gameplay, just visual. WOG changes the SOD.exe file for some reason.

OK, sounds fun.
One more question: Umm, what do you do to install it again? I checked the first page and it didn't say as far as I could see. The sites didn't have anything either. I guess it must be because it's obvious, but could anyone give a really simple explanation?

Hi guys. It wouldn't let me start a thread about it, so I guess I'll just add another newb question to the sticky
Me and my friends are currently using gameranger to play Heroes III Complete with each other and it works great of course.
We're trying to play WoG over it now. We changed our icon so that gameranger will load it, but after his turn, I get an error message saying it was unable to access a specific memory address. I downloaded the newest version from this thread.
Anyone ever get WoG working over gameranger? And I can't use hamachi because I am behind a router, so please don't suggest it.

The error may come not from Gameranger but from some script. Have you tried to play a not wogified map over Gameranger? Disabling all features and see if data transfers correctly. So far a lot of scripts are not recommended for MP.

Thanks for responding so fast. I turned every option in the "wog option" off except for "wogify all maps" and "always use the map settings below". Every option on every page was turned off, including the "map options below."
I have actually have HoMM3 Complete and my friend just has all of the expansions. I downloaded the wog files from this forum, and he just patched his old version. Everything is fine except when he send me data after his first turn, it fatals me.
Gameranger works perfect for normal HoMM3. I'm going to see if I can gameranger myself with the exact same files and see if his different files are what's causing it.
If anyone else has had this porblem or any suggestions, please let me know.
EDIT: Just tried it and it worked perfectly. Must have been different version or he copied his wrong. Thanks.

I dont need links. I found all the links but my question is beyond the WoG 3.58 full mega pack install is there some recommendations as far as further downloads?
All i want to do is play some Player Vs Computer campaigns or scenarios to see how I like WoG...
Would the regular full 3.58 mega pack install link I see be good enough?

I'm new here, so please pardon my lack of knowledge.

The campaign is bugged and won't work. There's an error in the scripts I think. There's no way to fix it, you better give up.
Although there is a nice amount of downloadable WoG maps to play with to keep you occupied Some of them are almost a campaign by themselves.

Thanks Ayreon, glad to know that its not a problem with the software, but still, what a waste. The must have done a lot of effort to make it.
Btw, great site. Nice to know there are still fans for after more then ten years(?) after the games started. Too bad i dunno how to play online.. guess i have to dig the forum deeper. (Horray New Groove Town! )
