Still, why would we replace the Golem Dragon with the Azure Dragon? Because it is stronger? Well, if you did replace it, the Azure Dragon would have to be weakened, and then it wouldn't be popular.
Seriously, does anyone like the Azure Dragon for any other reason than it being the strongest? It may be strong, but it such a generic dragon!
That was the part of my idea, but I didn't bother mentioning it. Yeah they are generic dragons but, if they were to be the exchange of Dragon Golem, It would be better! They can be weaker but, they have this ability to invoke FEAR to your opponent which is big advantage when you have lots of them! You're opponent's troops would start to panic, freeze and shatter!
Just my though!

Sarcasm meeter . . . going . . going . . . . gone!
Uh, Titan? You being sarcastic? Because in one of the last Might and Magic games that takes place in Erathia (I believe it was M&M 7) there is a level in a UFO!!!
I guess every Might and Magic game has some tech in it for fun. Huh......

hmm i thought i has saw a few pictures of the mech dragon breathing fire.
Anyway i dont like it for this reason:
ok so a wizard might be able to magically create this creature but wheres it all going to stop eh????? Soon they will be building mech flying dragons three times the size, adding flamethrowers to the nagas, rocket launchers on the titans, and hell probably messing around with genetics to create even more powerful creatures (not to even meantion cloning!)
I think they should have a group of wizards to decide how far they should allow this little "magic adventure" to continue.

Sad but True. This is what happened to the Final Fantasy Series. It used to be a fantasy game, then it slowly evolved in FF6 to an Industrial Magic Era, then in FF7 it was science magic. It still is that way.
If fantasy was real (oxymoron . . . big word!) then this evolution would happen eventually. But while the fans still control this Heroes Universe, I say we keep them in a permanent medieval time period. with an occasional Golem thrown in...

Quote: I think a Dragon Golem would work...
If a Mage is able to make a golem from stone I bet they can make a dragon golem that breathe fire...
breathing fire doesn't make the dragon too tech because a mage can make fireballs and such... He can "give" magical things to other things (this is how I get it)
So why the #¤"& wouldn't a dragon golem brathe fire???
If you think "it's too tech" and "what comes next??? A UFO??" then stop playing the game if you can't handle a dragon golem but a steel golem...
is there a resource called steel and batteries?
Wouldn't think so but why wouldn't they'll be in homm2(or whatever game it was)if there was Steel Golem??
Here we go again. No, in the case of a golem, I think the mage creates the golem out of rock, then enchants it so it moves like flesh and gives the golem life on its own. I felt the dragon golem should have been something like the crystal dragon- made out of rock. It could have bee made out of steel, but not the ridiculous pistons and springs. This debate is pretty much dead, we've run into all the corners and the dragon golem is still in and I feel as ugly as ever.
THE END

Yes it does look very robotic.. It also moves very robotically, and with clanking noises as it walks.. you can hear its joints and gears shifting.
The M&M universe always had sci-fi elements to it, but I hoped they would be left out of the HoM&M universe.

The dragon golem is complete nonsense
It looks like some wierd mecanical spider from a horror movie
And i dont think it has anything to do with golem anymore
I thought golems where made from nature elements
not some thing from an asembly line.

The absolute smeggin' best part of the Dragon Golem is the bit about how it's made and run by the Red Dwarves. LOL I finally built some, and referred to the first one I bought as 'Lister'.

Well IMO its an animated golem which means its a magical creature. In any case if you don't like GD, live with it. Heroes IV is out and it hasn't been removed.

I'm living, but not liking.
Golems are animated by magic. That implies, they would NOT need a snowING ugly A-hole to operate it!!!
That guy makes it a mech. dragon, not a dragon golem. I think the whole dragon golem idea stinks anyway. Golems should be of humanoid form. Don't know why, I just do.
And by letting them know what we don't like, we can hopefully convince gamemakers to make better decisions in the future (yes, better!)...
Play well

Golem Dragon has to be a golem not a robot. It rather fit a starcraft than heroes series.

Is dragon golem using fuels? Or they are made to work by pure magic force like crystal dragon...if fuels, i'd say they should be gone, unless give human alignment a Tank. If they r just magic controlled, then they are about the same as bone dragon...still meaningless.

More Appropriate Dragon Golem Pic
I think Dragon Golems are fine as long as you don't incorporate too much technology into them. As I have stated in my "Technology in a Fantasy Genre" thread, too much technology will not impress the fans of Heroes games. The dragon Golem of Heroes4 seems just a tad bit over on the technology scale. Here's a good pic of a dragon golem that doesn't put so much emphasis on the technology as it does the "looking for parts that will work for your golem". That should be the focus of golem-production in the Heroes Games. I think they should focus more on the "magically-mended" than the "technical-construct". One may not always find the materials they need to assemble a complete dragon golem so one might find him/her self needing to improvise a little. Anyway see what you think of this:
