BLOW_ME_AWAY,

The entries are to be posted in the Altar of Wishes forum of Heroes Community with a subject prefix ICTC: (International Create a Town Contest). For example: ICTC: The Arctic Town

Otherways your entries cannot enter the contest. I suggest you copy and paste your entries into new appropriately named threads to be eligible.

Will we be able to vote for ourselves?

No, you won't be able to rate your own contest entries - as that rating might be biased

I had a suspicion you'd say that. Nevertheless I would feel more inclined to vote for other people if I could vote for myself, otherwise it seems like I am helping others but not my own.
I know, so selfish - but imagine if only half the number of people who created towns actually voted: half of the towns would end up having more votes, even though every person who did vote voted as much as they could.
I suppose if an average is being taken this will have less of an effect.
In reality I guess the solution to the problem is not really allowing you to vote for yourself... now I'm getting confused so will shut up and stop whining!

Heh, don't worry - number of ratings won't count - the average score of those ratings will. And that is only 50%. The other 50% is from the judges.

3) All entries will be finalised on 5th of February - no more suggestions or editing.

Is this 5th February 00:00 AM or 5th February 11:59 PM?
And which timezone?

Thanks in advance.

I will be voting, because I am having lots of fun with this and would like to see my favourite towns win Hopefully the majority of people entering feel the same.  If we care enough to submit, we should care enough to see a town we value win.

I will be voting too. I take back what I said above, it's rubbish basically.

Can I add a suggestion please?
It will be really confusing to try and grade all 45 of these if the order of the entries is bouncing around.  Would you be able to maybe create a whole new category where the the entries are all alphabitized or are in  a "fixed" order so that we don't get a headache trying to keep track of all of them?
Or maybe you can sticky all of them, I don't know.
Just a suggestion...

Val, Fabrice announced on the Ubi forum that Nival accepts entries in English. That means translations won't be needed.

That gives us more time I suppose. Can you extend the deadline so we can polish our work end deliver better quality projects?

Nival will indeed accept entries in English. However, the contest is being conducted in association with a Russian gaming magazine, which might want to publish the entries. I doubt they want extra trouble of translating the entries, and hence the non-Russian entries could suffer. Translation ensures that if your entry wins, the magazine can easily publish it.

More details about the next phase of the contest will be posted soon. Meanwhile see the first post of this thread.

Val, could you make a post saying something like "contest has ended, all further edits will be disqualified" or "contest will close in 4 hours"

i say this cause with the server time offset in profile, i can change my time around and i dont know how that views elsewhere, so i am kinda confused

would appreciate that

You don't need to look at server time or HC profile at all. Double click the clock in the bottom right corner, select "Time Zone" and find your location in the list. It has the GMT value next to it. Now add that value to the closing time, which is GMT 0.

For example, Central America is GMT-6.
So in Central American time, the closing time is 17:59 on 5th of February.
