A Blast from the Past
Just stopping by to say Hello.
Oldtimers on the board will probably remember me. For the not so moss-covered ones, I'm a former mod who dropped off the face of the earth a few years ago.
My health problems are in an upturn (finally), and although a drive crash a couple years ago ate my Heroes stuff, the past week I've been actively rooting around for my CDs to see if I can get up and running again.
I can see a lot of changes around the ole place, and I'm sure I'll be asking some delightfully dumb questions as I try and get back up to speed with the game.
Since I'm no longer at the mercy of dialup, I've been playing some online games the past couple of years, but HOMM has always had a special place in my heart.
Have fun, good hunting, and hope to be back again soon.
edit: That smell of pipesmoke in the wind just may be me ...

Hah! Finally found my Heroes 3 CDs just a few minutes ago!!!

Well, mostly alive ... as I try and remember how to play, and continue searching for my Heroes IV cds ...
hmmm ...I wonder if I loaned 'em to someone ...
for the morbidly curious, I've been running random maps against the AI to try and get back into the game. If anyone has a good Heroes 3 map to recommend, I'd love to hear about it One that won't overstress a born-again noob too much.
