Why did you choose your avatar?
What is it that you like about your avatar? The picture? The character/creature/thing? Or some weird principle?
[edit: Any stories or descriptions or comments on how or why you chose your avatar would be greatly appreciated, as well as general insights on avatars and voices and beings behind or whatever.
I originally placed the thread in Wastelands instead of Tavern, so there is some confusion at the start of the thread.
My own story can be read on Page 2 (Mezizto)/ 3 (Sylas Zanj).

I really like both of your avatars. But I don't think the avatar and/or nickname tells all. If nothing else, there is the story of how you chose it.

So, if I read your avatar: the tiger (whose picture in the signature vibrates with beauty) - especially with the fire in the picture could be chosen for the energy, power and strength it represents or invokes. The tiger could be chosen as a symbol of nature (as the butterfly shape also is a form from nature). So the avatar would say: This is someone who admires energy, power or strength and has a strong bond to nature. (Or does the butterfly also relate to the sprites in HoMM and mean something magical? Then it would be "and lives in a mythical nature or strives for it." Furthermore, beauty is common to tigers and butterflies, so the avatar tells me that you're an aesthetical person, someone for whom beauty is important. And then, there is also some strange tension between the butterfly and the tiger. But all this could be totally wrong. I'm sure you would have something to tell that the avatar can't.

The crusader takes part in a lot of stories, in and outside of HoMM. In HoMM, for me it would be the crusader of H2 with its clank-clank and its heavenly death. But it was kind of a fun creature, especially the way it walked, and I don't think that is meant, since the avatar makes kind of serious and priestly impression clad in all white and with that black halo. Purity comes to my mind when I see it, perhaps even a hint of chastity. Or is it just from a computer game I don't know (because I don't know too many). Or has it something to do with history or "Kingdom of Heaven"? Which story do you have in mind?

When it looks cool, then it must be something about the picture that attracts you. I like the imp on the stamp, it has this mischievous air. Furthermore, the red and the trident make it kind of aggressive. (Like it's snickering "Hehe, I messed things up again".) So you could be someone who finds pleasure in the process of messing things up (which doesn't necessarily mean you're practicing it). I don't really get the point of the stamp, but I find it funny that the avatar is like a stamp on a letter. So "cool" would mean mischievously funny or funnily mischievous. Is that so?

I find the picture is impressive and the creature looks not only powerful, but overwhelming (and dangerous). I have never played the creature in the game, but I think I can guess what's attracting you.

Well yeah you right... I chosse my avatar because my nick... but that all comes exactly from the Heroes 2 crusader... as you say the clinchh clinchh HUWAMMM HUWAMMM was fun and at the same time very nice... is my all time favourite creature in the HOMM universe... I guess because of the nature of the loyalty and courage...

u by no means intruding, in the contrary, your initiative is worth all the praises.but the forum the thread was placed was wrong.

I think your avatar is quite special, reduced to the max somehow, invoking straightforwardness and a good sense of humor. You don't seem to relate yourself to it too much anymore, though. Hopefully, Valeriy will grant an avatar amnesty some day.

I will not dare dabbling in uninvited avatar psychology, since the avatar is also a veil. But one avatar I just can't resist commenting is Vlaads. It's absolutely gorgeous. It looks like a not so serious Macbeth in a provincial (sorry) show. It keeps a perfect balance (or rather ambiguity) between austerity, sharp wits and irony, and I really like its extrovert theatrical appearance. Besides, it looks somehow Slavic and goes very well with the nickname.

I made it out of Heroes III monsters in paint. I don't like it that much anymore, but it stuck.
I like having a Heroes monster as my avatar, but I made it more unique by modifying it. I have two main usernames, TitaniumAlloy which I basically only use here and Kilmo, on most other boards.
In RPs I have come up with a sort of character for each of these names, Titanium Alloy being represented by a metal-clad mysterious figure shadowed by a cloak, and Kilmo being an Orc, which was my other choice for avatar, this one here;
I don't really like it that much anymore, to be honest, but oh well.

I agree that a creature avatar is nice, and especially if you can make it individual. I find that your avatar shows the ghosts as they should look (and even more be), and I also like the goblin with the minotaur axe. Both creatures wouldn't be among my first choices, though.

I chose Samarqand here because what would have been my first pick, namely Theodorus, was taken. And since I'd already picked this ridiculous username, I had to find an avatar which looked like a properly dotty wizard.
Enter Samarqand. Not to mention that I've always had a thing for old, bearded Dwarven spellcasters.
