Just a random, pointless thought...

I was grounded for the last three days, so I had nothing to do...So I actually took the time to think for a bit, just about random stuff and I began thinking about this...It will probably sound weird and stupid to most of you but maybe a few will see something in it.

I was thinking about the impact you have on other peoples lives, and the impact others can have on your life. Just about every person you meet influences you somehow, whether it be the way you dress, act, talk, think, or just the way you do things. It doesn't matter if you only know a person for a matter of months, and you never hear from them again in your entire life, or if you known them for your entire life.

Everyone you meet affects you somehow, whether you like them or dislike them, they change something in you, whether it be as small as a simple thought or on a larger scale, such as even moving somewhere else just to be with them. But either way, if you had never met that person, you wouldn't have had that simple thought, or moved to that place to be with them.

Everyone wants to make an impact in the world somehow, to be remembered. But what most don't realize is that you do make an impact in everyone you meet, even the smallest of things you do affects everyone around you in some way, whether for the good or bad.

Some of the people you know right now, after you get out of high school, you may never see again for the rest of your life. Then there are others who will be with you your entire life.

Anyways...I'm not entirely sure what my point is, but just enjoy life to the fullest, don't worry about petty mistakes, try to enjoy the company of others while they are around.

Hmm, you know what?  I don't think what you say is pointless at all...

I don't believe in life after death in a physical sense.  No magical paradise called heaven, reincarnation in animals or inanimate objects or joining a big pool of love and rebirth when I come to die.  Just worms baby... just worms  And if you want to call that reincarnation that's fine by me.

But getting back to what you state there 2extreme, from the moment we are born we do make a difference here on earth.  Even as one single individual.

By the things we do when interacting with others we create ripples in their lives, and they in turn will make ripples in other people's lives that are connected to ourself.  This is what makes people immortal in my opinion.

Whether you choose to take a positive or a negative stance in life is a matter of choice, a matter of ethics.  But it's important to always estimate the outcome of your actions on other people's lives to the best of your ability.  Then if you live by the idea not to do to others what you wouldn't want to have done to yourself, how could you do wrong?

Dont it make you feel great when you help someone or actually make a positive impact on someones life.
Certain people can change the whole outcome of a person, positively or negatively.
Like my brothers GF for example, she fell head over heels for him & he helped her to quit addiction.

Environment can help change to, where your at, the friends you meet & the places to go.
It all evolves on who you are when you were younger & who they are when you show them a dif light on a situation or a question.

This is a good topic... I've actually had these thoughts before and I understand what you are saying.
I kind of always thought that who we are is shaped so much by the circumstances we've been born into and the people we are surrounded by.  And when we meet new people it can change us or give us a different outlook on life.
Deep inside it seems we're all the same in a way, but we are all living in different circumstances.

I've heard it said,
that people come into our lives
for a reason,
bringing something we must learn,
and we are led
to those
who help us most to grow,
if we let them.
And we help them in return.
Well I don't know If I belive
that's true,
but I know I'm who I am today,
because I knew you.

Like a commet pulled from orbit,
as it passes a star.
Like a stream that meets a boulder,
halfway through the wood.
Who can say If I've been changed for the better,
but,
because I knew you,
I have been changed for good.

It well may be,
that we will never meet again,
in this life time,
so let me say before we part,
so much of me,
is made of what I learned from you,
you'll be with me, like a handprint on my heart,
and now whatever way our stories end,
know you have rewritten mine, by being my friend.

Like a ship blown from it's moorings
by a wind of the sea.
Like a seed dropped by a bird
in the wood.
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But, because I knew you,
I have been changed for good.

And just too clear the air,
I ask forgiveness
for the things I've done
you blame me for

but then I guess we know there's blame to share,
and none of it seems to
matter any more!

Like a ship blown from it's moorings
by a wind of the sea.
Like a seed dropped by a bird
in the wood.
Like a commet pulled from orbit,
as it passes a star.
Like a stream that meets a boulder,
halfway through the wood,

Who can say
If I've been changed for the better,
I do belive I have been changed for the better,
and, because I knew you.
Because I knew you.
Because I Knew You,
I have been changed
For
Good.

@2XtremeToTake
Most improvements in people's lives have come from random thoughts, ask a physics professor But I find it far from pointless too-actually I had exactly the same thought some time ago.Our life is full of random events most of which are not related to us at all:You are late because you have misplaced something and couldn't find it and you meet an old friend, you go to a new friend's place and meet someone that triggers some thinking about a subject, you are inspired by a dream...
The way I met my female best friend seems quite random too, unless you believe that some things are meant to happen.Knowing her now I can tell that the chances of me meeting and getting close to her were really slim for many reasons yet she has been really influential and life-enriching since then.
The fact is that you will be faced with random happenings you may or not know how to face them, can predict or not how they will work out.The only measure of control over your life then is to act in your own unique way and let things play out for themselves. This way you can become who you want to be even though there may be challenges in the way and in the process influence yours and others' lives for better or worse. The best things can come out of a stupid mistake or disaster because you did something seemingly right All you need to do is keep your mind and senses open to new opportunities and random insights

Great topic and just what I wanted to read today. Today has been a clouded day for me; it has been hard to let even the slightest glare of sun come through. I have always believed that every person we allow into our lives whether it be for a short time or eternally, we have placed them there for a cause. They have come to us and we have come to them to complete certain missions in our lives that partake in the constant knowledge that we gain. We do not become wise alone; there are stepping stones of wisdom placed in front of us all the time. We may choose to take the long way around but most of us get to our destination soon enough.

Those people that cross us while taking the long way around  are there to direct us back to our path or they're there for us to direct them. We never succeed in this world in any sense of the word without others that have helped us along. You may wonder to yourself while in fetal position crying over that lost love or even ones death, why has it played out this way for me? You may never see the positive reality of why that one person came and went but some us figure it our later on. We start to put the pieces together and it all becomes apparent why we had that addicted husband, the abusive parents, or that horrible marriage that just could not be saved.

It happens so that our path begins to have purpose and we start the process of finding who we are and who we never want to become. My mother was an addict and so was my father. I see past the negative affects that it had on me and say to those around me, I thank them for they have shown me a great truth, they have shown me two individuals that in that time of their addiction, were two people that I never wanted to be anything like, ever. It was almost an instruction book for life, if I just did the opposite as a mother, a friend, and just a person, I would surely conquer anything.

Pay close attention to those that you may think really have no purpose in your life, just be careful that once you recognize beyond doubt they or purposeless, don’t hold on. It is toxic.
