I say Ancient Behemoths because they are the only creatures that benefit even EXTRA from increasing hero stats.
In the long run, the stronger the heroes get, the more effective the ABs will be. And this is unique only to ABs.

Well, I like Behemoths and Ghost Dragons.
Ancient's have the ability to render they're enemie's defence almost completely useless and that means the perfect target for shooters, not to mention they have 300HP as well.
And what about the aging ability that Ghost Dragons have? Sure the chance of it happening is low but meanwhile -1 morale to enemy creatures will cover for it

I guess u missinterpret the speciality of the Ancients.
The Ancients reduce the defense skill of an enemy unit by 80% DURING THEIR ATTACK! When the hit is done, the enemy has its normal defense skill again of course.

Best lv 7 Creature?
I'd say Archangel, +1 moral, Great stats, ressurection of allies, Flying, good speed. Love them
Only drawback could be the price.

I think ancient behemoth
It can beat any oter level 7 creature
and just use shield on them or stoneskin with expert earthmagic to protect them long enough until the enemy sends some flyers into your ranks like griffins,serpent flies,wyverns or dragons.If you can cast bloodlust with ogre magi on them to increase the damage

Only problem with Hydra is low damage, speed, attack and defense.

Yea but the Hydra is unique: The only 7th lvl creature who attacks all adjacent enemies and it's speed is good. (extra swift) Just use prayer and to further improve him all around. Oh and no enemy retaliation...

Devils= also no enemy retaliation.....
and creatures allways get better when you buff them up with spells, doesnt seem logical to talk about that in this topic...

I have made tests on equal statistics.
Rules:
1) both creatures blessed if possible
2) no morale/luck bonusses
3) hero has 0 skills on attack and defence
And it's circe - as was said by someone, Archangels do everyone, except for Ancient Behemots.
Ancient behemots do everyone, but loose to titans even if titans first do nothing allowing ancient behemots to come closer, then titans attack and then ancient behemots do..
However titans loose to archangels and archdevils..
Who is that fool who said titans loose to black dragons?

Here is the ACTUAL match:
DRAGONS: 75 damage (225 hp left for titans)
TITANS: 90 damage (210 hp left for dragons)
TITANS: 90 damage (120 hp left for dragons)
DRAGONS: 75 damage (150 hp left for titans)
DRAGONS: 75 damage (75 hp left for titans)
TITANS: 90 damage (60 hp left for dragons)
TITANS: 90 damage (- 30 kill dragons)
So even if it would be possible to bless black dragons, they would still loose to titans... But since it is only possible to bless titans, THE TITANS WOULD SLAUGHTER THE DRAGONS EVEN IF THEY WOULD DEFEND ONE TIME INSTEAD OF ATTACKING!

I did some test aswell. Actually the fight betweel ONE Archangel and ONE Ancient Behemot is very close. So close it depends a lot from the terrain. If its on Rough - Behemot will win all the time. If on Grass - Archangel wins most of the times. On neutral terrain its close but still behemot has more wins.
Offcourse, when there are higher numbers the case is different.

About that BD vs T thing...
Your accusation with your testing method makes no sense. Titan will win beacuse you manipulate the circumstances to its favor. As well you could give the BD's hero Implosion and test who would win that time... I don't know whose post you are referring to (would be polite to post that one too, so that people know if one has got right what the referred person meant) but I don't think he meant a duel with Bless.
I made a briefly test with likewise situation without rule 1 and in theory (with avg dmg) BD will win. In real situation it's very close: I made 10 test and both got 5 wins.
P.S. loose = opposite of tight, (to) lose = opposite of (to) win

Even Archangel loose to Behemoth, still is the best because on average Archangel can beat rest of the level 7.
Try with wait too

ArchAngels are the best team player
Titans are the best for fun factor
