Before SOD and AB expantion packs I'd say Titan: shooter with no melee penalty and mind immunity. Downsides immune to Mirth (which I use very often)and the enormous cost to upgrade them
after Sod and AB my favourite has become the Phoenix:ceapest and Fastest, Double Growth, firebreath and Flying. Only dowmside: immunity to bloodlust and frenzy

My favorite is probably the Chaos Hydra, although it IS a tad on the slow side. But that goes for that entire castle sans the Dragonflies and the Wyvern Monarches. Best...I would probably say Archangels, even if I dislike them.
Like Ratio:
1 - Chaos Hydra
2 - Black Dragons
3 - Arch Devil
4 - Gold Dragon
5 - Ancient Behemoth
6 - Ghost Dragon
7 - Archangel
8 - Phoenix
9 - Titan
Personal Power Ratio:
1 - Archangel
2 - Black Dragon
3 - Titan
4 - Gold Dragon
5 - Arch Devil
6 - Chaos Hydra
7 - Ancient Behemoth (They die a bit too fast IMHO)
8 - Phoenix (Altho their growth helps them a LOT)
9 - Ghost Dragon
But thats just personal playstyle preference.

I think the best 7th unit is the archangel : it is the second fastest 7h unit, it is the strongest, and the ressurect ability is useful for exploration.

Chaos Hydra ooooo Yeah
They have so many advantages and only one disadvantage and thats speed and thats overcome with the spell teleport. and they rarly get targeted by spells cause mighty gorgons are nastier.

Hydras,good but are slow.
AB,great,still not as fast or strong,just have more HP

But also immune to berserk  . Confluxes are good in late game because of their growth, university and Aurora. In late game, thay're even stronger than Castle (1st in power calculation) & Tower (2nd in power calculation)

I think Teleport is not really the best spell, perhaps except in siege battles. You will give free magic reign to your enemy for the rest of the round. In tight battles, you usually either cast or counter mass spells.

Before AB and SoD it's the Bone Dragon - Ghost Dragon! Caus i like death and pain. And they look awesome.
After Ab and Sod it's still the Bone Dragon - Ghost Dragon!
After WoG it's the Black Dragon (And that is only because of it's upgrade Darkness Dragon)

Either phonix or Archangel, I think phonixis are cheap and there are a lot of them each week. Archangels are just very powerful.

I'd go for Black Dragon because of the tactical factor- the breath attack will force your enemy to open their defenses which goes great with Dungeon heroes' expert tactics as enemy shooters are virtually helpless.

Haste+BL+Sheild = kills everything in sight
i know they lack the certain resitances
but they can be a mean killing machine if you do it right
But i guess thats my Personal Prefrence

Crying... Which is the best??? I think the best is the most useful, not the strongest.
Phoenix is useful because it help me get the first turn and cast the Armageddon. (imagine: attack enemy hero with one Phoenix, firstly I cast Armageddon and secondly I...retreat  )
Archangel is useful because it can resurrect allies (and so can its clone), and it has fair attack-defense.
Arch Devil is useful because it is slim (cover only one hex) and attack without get retaliations.
Black Dragon is useful because it is immune to all spells (but it means I can't bless, haste, resurrect or clone it, oh no). Gold Dragon is worse than, because it can't immune Implosion.
Titan is useful because it can shoot and it have 300 HPs. Ancient Behemoth is useful because it can tear enemies's armor.
If I must choose the worst I choose Ghost Dragon, but I can't choose the best!

First of all,there is little chance you will get exp fire+armageddon then there is h+r(hit and run rule),you cant attack cast magic and restreat.
Isnt it obvious who is winner?AAs cant even argue about them.

It's the only skill of Ghost Dragon. Ghost Dragon is not so fast and it's attack - defense - HPs are too miserable. Though it's cheaper than others, and it has aging, I think it is more useless than others.
@ nikita: I agree that there is a anti hit-run rule but that rule is only used in WCL
At last I think it is impossible to say exactly that which is the best, but I think Phoenix, Archangel, Ancient Behemoth and Titan are better than others.
