hmm
I'm almost conviced to that heaven and hell are man made concepts to understand something that they can't or won't face.

To my (not so humble) opinion the bible is a romantized story about things that people can't describe (language is such a poor form of coomunication).

No offense intended ofcourse to those that find the bible of others scriptures helpfull in dealing with real life.

THE DEVIL CAN CITE SCRIPTURE FOR HIS PURPOSE!

Hexa,
I've said this before and i'll say it again. You and me (no ofence just example) will never agree about this question, we are just too diferent (my age doesnt make any diference)and you'll never take my arguments nither will i . Why i dont belive in things like God? I'm learning in KPI (Kiev Politechnick University), i'm programer and our thechers learn us to explain everything, sometimes its hard, sometimes it's sounds stupid. People belive in God just because they cant explain something, so they find easyest way, they say "God made so". Same is with death, they think: "How i can just die? I cant just go away." and then they say: "Ah! There are havens/hell so after death we'll go there".

PS I dont expect you'll agree with me, like i said we are just too diferent.
PPS I belive in what i see so if there is life after death i'll belive in it after my death.

Think you have misunderstood my reason for starting this thread. It ain't my goal to change the way you or anybody else think about this topic.

If I'm totaly honest I'dd have to say that I'm trying to broaden my horizon a bit; perhaps looking for someone that shares or adds something to my view of the world.

To make myself clear:
I very much respect everybodies opinion. And who am I to tell you or anyone what is right or not.

Just talking open-hearted about this topic is enough for me.
For me it takes about the same amount of courage to believe that life just end as it does to believe in an hereafter (in whatever shape that may be).

It all comes down to some sort of believe.
You believe that life is life and thats it.

Ok...you've got as much proof for that as I got for stating my opinion. Believe is difficult either way.
Thnkx for taking this serious!

More .... when I return..

I believe that god is a fictional idea people ages ago created to explain the universe, then the idea of god stuck with us. But today science is helping explain the questions that people ages ago used god as an answer for. Though stories in the bible may be slightly true: Noahs flood did occur but i dont belive god actually came down and talked to some guy telling him to make a huge boat, Maybe Jesus did exist but not as a holy man, but as a natural leader. There is also evidence that stories in the koran did occur. In the Koran, Mohammed spread the word of Allah through a huge area including the middle east, northern africa, southern spain and the east mediterainian. This explains why today so many of the people in these areas are muslim and speak arabic.

Who Cares?

All.

People are afraid two things: Suffering and death. We cannot escape those two anyway. Maybe suffering some how but are you really living then? We are afraid also losing ourselves which death is. Idea of our light to burn out is terrifying idea. Nonexistence is most frightening thing whatever there might be. I have wrote something into Pascal&God thread by Malkia so check that out for more.

Thing is that my answer is the same as some wisemen in the east:
Why you ask about death when you don't know even anything about life?

For me death is part of life like birth is. I don't need any explanations for it. Life just is and I don't know anything else. This moment is that counts. Nothing else. Or in fact in the end and in the beginning and in the between...Nothing really matters. You may choose what matters to you but when the reality hits those are just thoughts. Those thoughts and also actions will make we what we are but does it matter in the end? Does believe matter? No.
All believe to something but it is as useless as sword without blade. We are just swinging through air hoping we hit something. Time goes by and we haven't hit anything but start think that maybe we have hit something, found the inner meaning of our swinging in the first place. As said it is only illusion. Then we fall to round and are too tired to swing anymore. You start going through all those swings and try to think did you hit something. When you close your eyes there will be no more swinging only the real blade that cuts through you, death.
All die like all are born. It is just life.

OK, I was rather poetic there but I can't say no more about this. Everyone choose their way and I have picked mine or it was chosen already for me. I have find many ideas how to live my life from different religions. I will say that my way of living isn't the right. There is not one as there is not wrong one. I think life is pretty much like Rollercoaster...keep hold tight and have fun. But do I want to live more than one life? Not really one is more than enough for me. Life is wonderful in it's all but another one? What kind of it might be? Thing is those answers will come in time and I don't have to worry about those.

Don't worry, be happy.

The Truth

Lets first assume that anything that exists as an idea can also exist in reality. Then let us consider the idea of eternal superbeings.

If time is eternal, then there should be beings that have gone "As far as you can go". These beings should be able to control everything, merging reality with imagination.

Now how fun is it to know it all, and be able to do it all? No limitations, no challanges. Not too funny

What do we do for fun? We play games. Noe extrapolate => the superbeings play games for fun.

So what games do they play? They play life. They start a game, forget everything they know, and are born. They live their life, die, and get their understanding back.

Life is a game, and we are unaware of what we really are. Some of us (the stupid people?) and just npcs, just like in games.

Thatīs what I think.

Kinda Agreed...

First time I think when I agree with Bjorn. LOL
Must be truthful here...I saw your name in this thread as last poster and I went..no, no, not Bjorn. You have sometimes so clever messages and sometimes you have irritated me little...I said little so don't get overexcited. Still I read your messages with great care so I can't complain really.

Life is game there isn't other way to describe it. But I think every person should try to play the game as being the main character and not trying to be unimportant NPC. Everybody has of course their own role. We don't know who chooses it for us or do we it but basically you have to assume you are the main character of your game.

Maybe in the future there is computer game little bit like Sims where you start living as baby take first steps learn things and grow. Then you must do the tough decision when you are adult and try to live "good" life or whatever the way it is. But problem is that you cannot really play the game more than once because you would know what are the right choices in the game as you would know the internal logic of the game. But if we look real life...we have one life what we know of and we cannot understand the internal logic of this game. Some of us try to but I think that there aren't enough lifetimes to do that. And if you know about eternity and mathematics basically you never cannot be closer to the eternity whether you use number one or some number million. You are always as far because the scale goes both ways.

No right answer, only right question.

ahem

my belief on life after death is this, and it is all supported by the Bible.
here it is:.....

very extremely short summary... yet still long.....there is a lot to learn about htis... more than i ever imagined... but ill get started now.:

in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was without form etc we all know this i hope... Adam was created and so was eve, from him...meanwhile after noone knows exactly how long Satan started to rebel against God, it sais in Isaiah"I will be like the most high" HE was clearlyt jealous, God created Lucifer perfect but,m as everything living he created he gave them the freedom of choice. whitout freedom there can be no love, and him, being the God that loves more than anything else, allowed   Satan to rebel, Satan took a third of God's angels with him (approximately). and now many may think, well he rebelled why not kill him painlessly now? well there must have been angels that were sceptical and changed their minds last moment to stay with God, so if God destroyed Satan's rebbelion, those would be like, hey u didnt give them a chance, what if they would do so or like this? and there would be more chaos and God wouldnt be the God of love which he is.

now Satan became hateful of ppl, (adam and eve at the time were the only people) satan came down as a serpent and tempded them, lying that they will not die if they ate from the tree of knowledge(which was the "voting booth" of sin, their choice) and they were tempted into sinning. God made things clear about the tree of knowledge... now skipping ahead a little(everything is important but these r the basics of a bit o history from the bible)

So adam and eve were kicked out of Eden and were cursed. birthing labour would be painful, have to grow your own food (fruits and nuts only at the time)

time whent on (im skipping D-tails so u continue reading)
and the whol world was becoming very extremmely sinful
Xept for one man in particular(and his family) who was tight up with his relationship  with God. that man as u may have guessed was Noah. the world was becoming more and mor einfected with the 100% fatal cancer that is sin, now noah sinmned too, but he was a righteous man who followed God. God made a plan for noah, since they(noah's family) were the only righteous, God planned for the earth to be destroyed by a flood that covered the whole earth. now back then, it never before rained. God spoke to him not by showing up, for that would have killed him, toast, ill xplain why later. but he did speak to him... so noah built the ark according to God's EXAT measurements given. after a long time he built it. during the hard process he was taunted by the people, who thought he was crazy, it had never rained before (the water was supplied through the ground... what we call morning dew but it was stronger and by rivers etc.) so before it happened, he rounded up 2 of each animal (the animals came hemselves, driven by God) and 2 angels closed the doors of the arc and for 2 days they stayed in there without rain or anything happening and people really laughed and made fun of them for this seemingl8 crazy act. but the ppl were astonished once it startded t rain, heavily*. the whole world within some time, was flooded and everything, exept for water creatures, died and so on... them world was  pretty cleansed, but some bad effects were climate change from the rain, soil wich was now more eroded and less firtile etc...the rainbow is Gods promise that he will never destroy the world with water again... and the rain allowed it to be displayed

one of the things God had promised to Adam and eve after they sinned was a redeemer, a saiviour, which came later, about 2000 years ago... we know him as Jesus, and i do not believe that he sinned, nowhere in any of the books does it say he sinned, he came in the form of a man and did not use his powers to help Himself* (but yes to help others by miracles) and he whent through more temptation, more of anything bad we will ever have to face ever, and diued on the cross for me, you and everyone. what a loving God! he died that second, eternal death so that we could yet still have a chance at eternity! yay! anyways, he was ressurected 3 days later though, and a bit later ascended to heaven. while Jesus' time on Earth, he showed the way to live, he was the example, a few things he showed it by was through his own baptism, kindness  and wisdom. Ofcourse we wont be as wise as him alone, but God can provide us with the wisdom when we need it...

Jesus said that there would be a second coming and before that, tribulation, times of great trouble, and again, we are going dopwn the hill , becoming more and more sinful generation after generation... so the end when he comes again is coming soon. but he said many things, words of wisdom ,prophecy etc.

in revelation, the last book of the bible, are many prophecys about the end time events, they are very symbolic too... for example: when I first read about the monster with different heads come out of the water i didnt believe it, but in eplanation, water symbolizes people in the bible, and a monster is like swift change and power, and heads are rulers, wether kings or prime ministers etc... and so far no prophecy has been broken, but if u learn more u will understand (some things i dont understand yet, im not perfect, im far from it)... some have been lefdt un answered but they are still in order and coming fast... what really woke me up ws Sept.11th offcourse, but i was not too surprised, because i was waiting for it to happen

anyhoo, Satans workling harder than ever now to create chaos and destruction, and anywthing that can decieve people from God. hes been going up the ladder slowly so people wouldnt recognize, but i think its very important that we do...

andf to continue about afterlife... now that u read this it will be easier to understand this...

I believe, based on the bible, that when things get real bad and all prophecy's are fullfilled Jesus will come again, to resurect those who have died fathfully to him, creating new, perfect bodies and cleansing them from all sin, and their sinful nature which makes it so prominent for them/me/us/ppl to sin, which has seperated us from God, which is why we get old and die, we have no more acces to Eden's tree of life, which provided perfect food that would keep our bodies going... we were meant to live eternally, and after he takes us to heaven, those who were dead who did not follow Jesus are ressurected and will live here for 1000 years. THAT*** is hell, this world will become it (and KEEP READING IM NOT FINISHED) under the rule of sin, which causes only pain and suffering and chaos and sin and death. it will be more agony than ever faced by anyone so far, for a thousand years...

after that, the earth will be burnt down, all life gone. God will give Satan another more chance to return and reent and follow him, but i think its pretty obvious that he will refuse and God will chain him up for a thousand years and in that time put him in the lake of fire, after that he will give him last chance again obvious that he will refuse , so upon his refusal he will end satan and all the angels that followed him to be deamons and all the people who rejected God.  i mean end as the second death the total total beyond revival gone u got no more sould u R DEAD**** death! i hope i make myself clear, it was their choice.... they had the freedom to choose. God will 'press the "reset" button' and restart the earth and renew it back and create the same perfectness of eden...  and those who were saved will "dwell in the house of the LORD forever, Amen" there will be new things, better than ever and we will once again be able to SEE God the way it was intended, for with sin it would be like turning on the lights in a dark room, BOOm darikness gone and we would go just like the sin, and God wouldnt want that, offcourse...

a few comments on FAQ on htis looong peice,

-wheres Eden gone then??? well i think it may be the atlantis, the perfect city theyve talked about, it mauy have been swallowed up buy the great flood and submerged

-theres not enough water th flood the whole earth!!!-> sure there is, scientists estimate that with all the icebergs, ice on mountais, moisture in the air, water in the ocean there could be enough to flood the earht in warm conditions, so yes there is, and with a little help from God it was dont quite easiyl(for him at least

any Questions? well that was my opinion. what ive evaluated, learned, compared, and analyzed

if u dont think u can read all that, i dare u, u might find it inspiring or smthng

also, im 14 if u wanna know age

No

It is really petrifying to think there isn't life after death but one has to accept it. I can't imagine an afterlife place. With all animals and people and stuff. And how would people look, what are they going to think? For me the idea of everlasting life is more scary than the thought of death. After all, even when it's final, a rest is needed.
