Two questions from a WoG newbie :o)

Hello,

after some years of absence from Heroes of Might and Magic 3, I decided to play a really long WoG session with a friend of mine. I downloaded version 3.58, and now there are two things that Iīd really like to know:

1) By installing 3.58, do I automatically have features like Commander and those improvements on sucker artifacts activated? Or is there any other sort of installation or activation required?

2) Can you recommend me some maps for my purpose? It should be a huge double-XL where we can battle monsters or computer enemies for a really long time before meeting each others. The battles should be as difficult as possible. And it would be nice to start out normally (unbuilt castle or even town), and end up with 8th level creatures.

Thanks in advance!
Lews

No, it's not automatic but it's almost automatic as long as you have the right settings enabled if you WoGify a map.

The default setting is for Commanders. I don't recall now if the default for the Artifact Enhancement scripts are enabled or not (one of them may be).

When you start a standard map in WoG, it should ask you if you wish to WoGify it. If it doesn't, you should check the WoG Options in the WoG Options screen and choose the type of map WoGification option you wish (on the first page of options). You can also check and set all the other WoG Options there.

The WoG Options screen can be reached from the screen where you choose which map to play. It's a "button" in the upper right corner on the right-hand side of the screen.

You're welcome. For a really large XL map for general battling, I would tend to favour a random map myself, although I'm sure there must be some good user-created battle maps too.

I am also new to WoG and I would like to ask if there is a way to slow down the battles? It might be my computer but the battleanimations are going so fast I can hardly see what is happening. This is something I would realy like to change, as I am not enjoying the battles like I used to. Could someone please help me with this.

Yes, there is. Click on the computer icon in the lower-left part of the screen to adjust various battle options.
