Monster Strenght and Fleeing Monsters

Hey guys

My first post... I've tried searching on the forum, and since I can not start a new thread I think this is the place to ask, as it fits the topic. You probably discussed it somewhere, so if someone can point me out to that thread would be fine as well. Anyways...

My question is, how in the game is calculated if the monster will flee in accordance to your monsters strength, which monsters are weak, normal and strong? Also, according to this table*you have the monster strength in points, so when the monster will flee? Can you calculate your army strength, and when the number is greater then the monsters will flee or does it have to be some number plus on top of yours?

This is one german post i made which is not 100% correct, but can give you a clue when the monsters will flee or not. Maybe Angelito will translate it for you.

H3 Charisma! oder wie Diplomatie wirklich funktioniert!

Für alle Zocker dieses Spiel birgt dieses immer noch einige Geheimnisse. Eines der wichtigsten Geheimnisse ist wie Diplomatie wirklich funktioniert. Wer hat sich nicht schon mal gefragt „Wie schaffe ich es, dass mich möglichst viele Kreaturen joinen?“. Ich versuche da mal ein wenig Licht ins Dunkle zu bringen.

Das wichtigste vorab: Erstmal alles vergessen, was du denkst oder der Drachenwald denkt zu wissen über Diplomatie, davon ist fast nix richtig. Letztendlich ist nicht Diplomatie entscheidend, ob dich Kreaturen joinen, sondern allein dein CHARISMA. aumen:

[Charisma (Ch)]
Charisma = Diplomatie + Sympathie + Stärke

Dein Charisma setzt sich aus 4 Einflußgrößen zusammen, da sich Stärke noch mal in Heldenstärke und Armeestärke unterteilt. Im einzelnen:

[Diplomacy_Level]
Diplomatie = 0,1,2,3

Entgegen dem Handbuch handelt es sich bei den Diplomatie Leveln NICHT um die angegebenen Wahrscheinlichkeiten, es handelt sich überhaupt nicht um Wahrscheinlichkeiten. Sondern man bekommt für jeden Diplomatie-Level einen Punkt.

Kein = 0
Einfach = 1
Verbessert = 2
Experte = 3

So einfach ist das. Da man diesen Wert auch nicht durch Artefakte steigern kann (Diplomatie-Artefakte sind keine Diplomatie-Artefakte sondern Kapitulations-Artefakte), ist dieser Wert maximal 3.

[Sympathy]
Sympathie = 0,1,2

Hinzu kommt Symphatie, die sich ALLEIN danach richtet, ob du die gleiche Rasse in deiner Armee hast wie die Kreaturen die joinen sollen

Keine gleichen = 0
Anzahl der gleichen Rasse in deiner Armee WENIGER im Vergleich mit dem Rest deiner Armee = 1
Anzahl der gleichen Rasse in deiner Armee MEHR im Vergleich mit dem Rest deiner Armee = 2

Interessant an dieser Stelle ist, das du Charisma verlieren kannst, wenn du deine Armeestärke mit fremden Kreaturen verstärkst, obwohl deine Armee sehr viel stärker geworden ist.

[Power_Factor]
Stärke

Stärke ist der erste Wert der berechnet wird. Dazu gibt es komplizierte Formeln, die man im Englischen unten nachverfolgen kann wenn man will. Verkürzt ausgedrückt berechnet sich Stärke wie folgt:

Heldenstärke ergibt sich aus den Angriffs- und Verteidigungswerten einen Faktor der mit der Armeestärke multipliziert wird. Armeestärke ergibt sich aus der Anzahl mal den Wert der Kreatur. Dieser Wert wird durch die Armeestärke der zu joinenden Kreaturen geteilt.
Das Ergebnis bestimmt dann die Stärke wie folgt:

Ergebnis ist kleiner als 0,333 = -3
Ergebnis ist kleiner als 0,5 = -2
Ergebnis ist kleiner als 1 = -1
Ergebnis ist kleiner als 7 = Ergebnis
Ergebnis ist größer als 7 = 11

Interessant an dieser Stelle ist das die Angriffs- und Verteidigungswerte deines Helden deine Armeestärke erhöht. Das hat zur Folge das ein Hauptheld sehr wohl die Kreaturen besser zum joinen bekommt, als ein Scout. Auch haben Might Helden bessere Chancen Joiner zu bekommen als Magic Helden, da diese sehr viel höhere Angriffs- und Verteidigungswerte haben. Interessant auch da Diplomatie ja eher Magie Helden zugeschrieben wird.

Man kann als jetzt schon abschließend determinieren, welche Werte das Join-Verhalten überhaupt beeinflussen:

1. Sekundär Skill Diplomatie
2. Rassenübereinstimmung
3. Primär Skill Angriff
4. Primär Skill Verteidigung
5. Armeestärke

Hinzu kommt noch, das man in einigen Fällen mit genügend Gold (Kaufpreis der Kreaturen; Resourcen egal) die Kreaturen zum joinen bewegen kann. Dies zu erklären würde aber an dieser Stelle zu sehr komplizieren.

KEINE ANDEREN DINGE IN HEROES FÜHREN ZUM JOINEN!

[Aggression (X)]
Aggression

Ob du genug Charisma besitzt, das bestimmte Kreaturen joinen hängt vom Aggressionswert der Kreaturen ab. Aggressionswerte:

Compliant = -4
Friendly = 1,2,3,4,5,6,7
Aggressive= 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
Hostile = 4,5,6,7,8,9,10
Savage = 10

Kartenersteller können diese Gruppen im Karteneditor festlegen, wenn nicht können diese Kreaturen von Compliant bis Savage alles sein. Bei Random Maps werden die Kreaturen automatisch auf "Hostile" gestellt. Als Beispiel kann also eine Random Kreatur einen Wert von 4 bis 10 bekommen, aber niemals 1,2 oder 3.

Das -4 bei Compliant führt rechnerisch dazu das die Kreaturen IMMER joinen, während die 10 bei Savage dazu führt das die Kreaturen allein rechnerisch NIE joinen können.

[Charisma (Ch)] vs. [Aggression (X)]
Charisma vs. Aggression

Ist dein Charisma niedriger als der Aggressionswert der Kreaturen joinen diese nicht. Ist dein Charisma höher als der Aggressionswert joinen diese entweder für Geld oder für umsonst (weiteres dazu später).

Beispiel:
Wizard 20 Erzengel 0 Attack 0 Defence Einfach Diplomatie vs. 10 Erzengel Gruppe Hostile mit Aggressions-Wert 4

Diplomatie = 1
Symphatie = 2
Stärke = 20 * 1 * 1 /10 = 2

Charisma = 1 +2 +2 = 5
Aggression = 4
Charisma ist größer als Aggression

Die Erzengel joinen (in diesem Fall für umsonst)

[Wahrscheinlichkeit]

Wie kommt es, das obwohl gerechnet wird zu den Wahrscheinlichkeiten? Die Wahrscheinlichkeit entsteht dadurch, das die Gruppen verschiedene Werte annehmen kann. Nehmen wir oben genanntes Beispiel. Dort habe ich den Aggressionslevel mit 4 festgelegt. In der Gruppe Hostile hätten die Kreaturen die Aggressionslevel 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 haben können. Bei den Werten 4,5 joinen die Engel bei 6,7,8,9,10 nicht. Das heißt 2 von 7 würden joinen, die Wahrscheinlichkeit ist runde 28%.

Bei der Gruppe Aggressive (1-10) sind es dann 5 von 10, also runde 50% würden joinen.

Die Gruppe Friendly geht nur von 1-7 ,also wird der Anteil der Joiner überwiegen, da nur 2 nicht mitgehen wollen = 5/7 = 72%

[Geld oder Umsonst]

Zunächst einmal muß das Charisma >= Aggression sein. Danach entscheidet sich, ob gegen Geld oder gar Umsonst. Zunächst wird
geprüft ob:

Sympathie + Diplomatie + 1 >= Aggression

..dann wird umsonst gejoined, wenn nicht

Sympathie + 2* Diplomatie + 1 >= Aggression

..dann wird gegen Geld gejoined, wenn man genug Geld zur Verfügung hat.

Interessant ist das die Entscheidung NICHT von der Armeestärke abhängt, sondern allein von den Rassen und dem Diplomatielevel, also eine hohe Diplomatie, genauso wie beim kapitulieren eine Menge Geld sparen kann.

[Ablehnung]

Wenn Kreaturen joinen wollen, kann man dies auch selbstverständlich ablehnen <--Warum auch immer, wer mehr zu dem Thema "Ich-lehne-aus-irgendeinen-nicht-ersichtlichen-Grund-Joiner-ab" sollte mal bei Kane nachfragen Die Möglichkeit besteht jedenfalls. Bei

Charisma größer als Aggression "fliehen" die Kreaturen (fast immer)
Charisma kleiner/gleich Aggression "greifen die Kreaturen an.

[Fight Value]
Armeestärke

Anbei wie gewünscht eine Auflistung der einzelnen Armeestärken. Um z.B. einen einzigen Azure Dragon positiv mit seiner Armee beieindrucken zu können, muss man mindestens 10 Erzengel dabei haben oder 570 Pikeman.

Black Knights, Dread knights and Mummies have actually 25% chance (more  than 20% stated in manual) to Curse their enemies.

Wyvern Monarchs have 30% chance to poison enemies.


Natural AND secondary skill resistance lowers the chance of creature effects happening. However, Dendroids' and Rust Dragon's (maybe some others as well?) effects are not checked.

To be able to start with expansion heros, you have to make them available in heros box and disable a regular one of same class. So, to start with Roland for example, disable Orrin.

To give AI a 6424 level hero (multiple uses-sorcery/estates+ creature master ability) you need:

99999999 start exp hero
20 x 99999999 exp events
1 x 47293160 exp event.

If you cast exp counterstrike (maybe work with other spells too), then exp anti magic, then exp dispel, the counterstrike will still work allthough you cant see the spell on the army.

When you have the Orb of Vulnerability and your opponent has the Badge of Courage you can still cast mind spells.

When you have the Orb of Vulnerability and your opponent has the Pendant of Sight you can't cast blind.

When you have the Orb of Vulnerability and your opponent has the Pendant of Negativity you can't cast lightning spells.

When you have the Orb of Vulnerability and your opponent has the Recanter's Cloak you can't cast spells of level 3 and above.

the "not in the manual thread list" as a .txt file so you can put it in your heroes 3 folder as a manual. i suggest this to be put into future versions of heroes 3 third party stuff, it really helps.

And some of those artifacts are often substitute by the new artifacts and you can't complete the task, sometimes loosing the chance to finish a 'player only' game.

Not in the Manual

When you cast dispel you are targeting the spell not the creatures he's in so, mass dispel affects creatures with level one immunity.
