Worst Spell in Heroes 3
Hello this topic is to say our thoughts on what you think is the Worst spell in Heroes 3.
I think the worst spell is (in my opinion) probably Sacrafice.
I have never used this spell and I probably never will, mainlybecause i don't want to sacrafice my creatures. I may need them later on.
Never used it and I never will.
So tell me your suggestions everybody.

Gee, I wonder who'll be the first to tell you how foolish you are to discard Sacrifice as useless.
I'd say that the worst spell in the game is perhaps Misfortune.

Yep foolish period. Tell me what do you prefere 10 archdevils or 200 imps?
Sacrifice is a briliant spell to catch your opponent offguard and land some crutual hits on him.
Anyway there is already a thread on this subject somewhere in the dungeons of the library.

The other spell that is probably the worst is Misfortune.
Doesn't work on undead or unliving creatures (I think) and I never use it, because i have no need to.
I don't care about the morale, well i care but i don't pay any attention to it, because i'm to busy killing them.

i think you are mistaken Misfortune with Sorrow. Misfortune loweres the luck a critter may have on the battlefield, while sorrow loweres the chances of getting morale. While Sorrow can be a really good spell(especially when oponent has no leadership and mixes more than 2 races in his army,or has undead creatures in his army), misfortune is nearly useless, unless you know the oponent has luck skill or luck boosting artifacts(which u can check by clicking on one of his creatures in battle).So it's mostly never used.

thanks i did mistake them thanks for correcting me. I did mean Misfortune i just got the effects mixed around.

I think worst spell is fortune . i never use it but my friends say its very good spell . Well ..... Life goes on ..... Maybe

Actually sacrifice is like armageddon in the sense that they both can be excellent spells for multi-player, but are usually not as good for single-player.
They are both spells used mostly for critical fights. In MP, the main fight is always a critical fight. But in SP, there are probably several main fights, so creature preservation is a lot more important. On some maps there could be as many as 50 major battles. Even the AI can beat you if you lose too many creatures.
That's not saying sacrifice is a bad spell in SP, it can be a great spell. It's just that it's used a lot less. When you need more firepower RIGHT NOW, sacrifice will resurrect a lot more hit points than resurrection.

You should at least try it sometime. Under the right circumstances, it could arguably be called the most powerful spell in the game.
With expert fire and earth, and spell power 10:
Implosion = 1050 Hit Points
Summon elementals = 1400-1600 HP
Resurrection = 660 HP
Sacrifice 200 imps (800 HP) = 4800 HP (4000 HP net gain)
4800 HP=
1200 imps,
or 370 Magogs,
or 192 Cerberus,
or 120 Horned Demons,
or 107 Pit Lords,
or 24 ADs
William, do you still think it's a bad spell? You just have to know when to use it.

Worst spell is "disguise"...
...cause the computer ignore this spell completely and always know what you got and where you are.
...doesnt work in multiplayer if you are last in the round.
...its still nonsense to use it if you are first in the round as it gives more informations than it hides, e.g. 120 Titans are of course 120 Mastergremlins and so on.
All other spells can be usefull.
Imagine the comp wouldnt ignore disguise! Then disguise would be the strongest spell by far!
Simply give all your scouts 20 Mastergremlins plus disguise...99% of the wandering stacks would simply flee against assumed 20 Titans.
Or disguise plus visions ...cast disguise and check out with visions who wants to join the 20 Titans.

In my opinion, the worst spell is ice bolt. Because you almost always have lightning bolt. With basic air, lightning bolt costs the same as ice bolt and deals more damage. And anyway, you can spend these little 2 mana for about 50 more direct damage.

Ice bolt, is an alright spell, dont really use it because I have lightning bolt, which is more powerful and cost's less to cast in combat.
I still think that Sacrafice, or Misfortune is the worst spell.
Misfortune is bad in my opinion because it doesn't work on all types of creatures, and it is bad because Mainly I care about Killing the opponents/enemies creatures rather than caring about the morale of the creatures.
I mean Morale is good to know, but you don't really look at the morale of every creature all the time and cast misfortune just to lower it, I think alot of people care more about killing them rather caring about what the morale of them is.
