Memories . . .

It's been a year, but I'll give it a try:
Quote:

HighSchool
Heroes 4 Town

Level 1 - Freshmen, walker (to school).  Very little experience and often makes mistakes.  Intimidated by higher levels.  Pikemen can take them.

Level 1 - Stoners, flyer (you know what I mean!).  Can take a lot of damage, but does little damage themselves.  Slow moving.  Immune to mind control spells.

Level 2 - Goths, walker.  Causes terror.  Hard to find more than a few of them.  Immune to most death spells, and your mean comments.

Level 2 - Nerds, spell-caster.  Opponent will always target them first in battle.  Easily affected by the charm spells (especially from females).  Attack (& confidence) doubles when they have the computer artifact.

Level 3 - Thugs, shooters.  Will rush into battle (in berserk mode).  Beware of posers, they will run at the first sign of trouble.

Level 3 - Loners, walker.  If they take too much damage they become kamakaze units.  Principal will take them away after battle.

Level 4 - Jocks, walker (tank) units.  Very tough, but often cannot understand beneficial spells enough to be able to use them.  Will attack lower levels first, before attacking higher levels in battle.

Level 4 - "Cool" Kids, spell-casters.  Appear to be strong units, but really aren't.  All enemie units are -3 morale when against them.  150% damage against opponent's "cool" kids, and any freshmen.  Low confidence (always -1 morale), except in the presence of freshmen.

I bet you saw yourself in there somewhere!  Trust me, once you're out, you wonder what all the fuss is about.  And whatever you were in high school won't matter in college!

By request: a repost from the archives (original post last month)

Disclaimer: the following is as humor. No insult to any member of the community, except maybe myself, is intended

The Community:
This town is associated with ALL schools of magic, and builds 2 extra libraries. However, as it is open to all, its city defenses are very low and easily entered.

All Community troops are immune to mind attacks.
Level 1:
The Tavern Dweller: recruited from the Disreptutable Inn. These level 1 walkers have a very broad range of damage, making them respected despite their low level.
The Lurker: recruited from Cyberspace. These shadowy flyers have a very high growth rate and are virtually undetectable.

Level 2:
The Scholar: recruited from the Quality Post. A shooter that can put certain units to sleep or inspire others to great deeds. As each library is built, their growth rate increases.
The Gamesmaster: recruited from the Tactics Threads. A strong walker with blocking and first strike ability.

Level 3:
The Sarcastic Wit: recruited from the Unrelated Threads. This powerful ranged unit can shoot almost any other unit down easily.
The Creature Creator: recruited from Smoke and Mirrors. This fast flyer flits about the battlefield, summoning illusions of phantasmagoric creatures. Powerful, unless disbelieved.

Level 4:
The Moderator: recruited from the Website. These powerful walkers have a wide range of spells at their disposal, as well as a devastating ranged attack.
The Administrator: recruited from the Carnival. This feared flyer can cause entire stacks to die with one word. Even Archangels tread lightly in his presence. No retaliation is possible to his attack. Unlimited retaliations.

Might Hero: Goldstars. Never learn Tactics, as Tactics increases your ability to control troops and Community troops are not easily controlled. Gets high combat and archery skills.

Magic Hero: Redstars. May learn any school of magic to Expert level. May specialize in one school of magic to Grandmaster level. Gets adequate combat skills.

Grail Structure: Direct Line to 3DO. In addition to the normal financial and creature growth aspects , the Direct Line gives a random beneficial bonus to all Community troops and Heroes each week. These bonuses include: Morale, Luck, Spell Points, Combat bonuses, and lifting the Fog of War for a week. This bonus lasts only for that week. In addition, the Direct Line disables all cheat codes for the game.

What about this?

Town: Football Stadium

Hero: Manager

Level 1:
Football: Flyer. The speed increases when the Football is beside a Goalkeeper, Defender or Attacker, because they can kick the ball.
Spectator: Shooter who can throw bottles at the opponent, but he won’t do so if the team seems to win the battle. +1 morale to allied troops.

Level 2:
Referee: Has 0 attack and 0 damage, but can give a card when an ally gets attacked. Red card means the creature has to stay out of the battle and the two next battles (if its hero wins anyway). Two yellow cards in one battle equals one red card, three yellow cards in three different battles means the creature can’t participate in the next battle. The Referee gives a yellow card in 30 % of the cases and a red card in 10 %.
Commentator: Can three times per battle use his loud, hysterical voice. Then everyone within five hexes start laughing and lose their turn.

Level 3:
Reserve: Can be converted to Goalkeeper, Defender or Attacker if the creature in question isn’t present, but the Reserve gets slightly worse stats. If Goalkeepers, Defenders and Attackers are all present, the Reserves temporarily stay out of the battle, but can step in later.
Goalkeeper: Has an 80 % chance of blocking a shot on a creature within 3 hexes and a 50 % chance of blocking shots within 6 hexes. The Goalkeeper himself can’t be shot.

Level 4:
Defender: Has a good defence. When the Defender attacks, he gains more speed per hex travelled and attacks with a sliding tackle, which is more effective the more speed the Defender has. The enemies can’t retaliate because they lose their balance.
Attacker: Shooter who shoots footballs. Has high attack stats. At close range he can use sliding tackle with no hand-to-hand penalty. Not as trained at sliding tackles as the Defender, so the enemy can retaliate.
