HOMM2 town rating- Necromancer

I would like to know from everyone what you think is the best town type in HOMM2.

Here we go:
The Necromancer creatures are weak at low levels, but they become much more powerful at high levels.
The Necromancer is weak early on in the game, but it is strong in mid and endgame.
They are better on Larger maps, as this gives the Necromancer time to develop their strong creatures such as the Liches or the Bone Dragons.
All Necromancer units are undead and therefore are immune to mid spells, Bless and Curse, and they are unaffected by morale.
The Skeletons are probably the strongest lev1 unit in the game, and you can build a massive army of them because your hero will have the Necromancy Secondary skill, and when your town has the Shrine building, then your Necromancy skill will increase, and as such you will get alot of Skeletons just from fighting alot of creatures.
The mummy is the best ground creature for the Necromancer, as they have 20% chance to curse enemies and Royal Mummies have 30% chance.
The Vampires are a must for the Necromancer as they are a good and strong unit to have.
The Necromancer has 1 Ranged attacker and that is the Lich/Power Lich.
The Liches attack affects adjacent hexes in combat.
The Liches attack can hit your own units if they are enxt to the Target creature and this is a bit of a bad thing to happen, so when you are attacking with your Liches, make sure that none of your units are next to the Target creature, so that is the only downfall to their attack.
The Bone Dragon lowers enemy morale, but that is useless when versing a Necromancer Enemy.
The Necromancer is a tough town, and it is really good at mid or engame but perhaps not so good in early stages of the game.
Most of the Necromancer heroes start with Basic Wisdom and Basic Necromancy.
A strong town type to have.

Necromancer: My review

Buildings and costs: Very expensive. Not only is there a massive gold demand, but resources need to be used as well. They also can't build the Tavern until the expansion, and it increases Necromancy by 10% (and oddly enough, when I was garrisoned there for a while, with the shrine, on my troops morale, it acted like a Tavern. O.o Don't ask me how.) Their special building, the Storm, adds +2 to during a siege. Seeing as it requires both mercury and sulfur, not to mention useful only during a siege, you're better off passing this up. Besides, the resources are better off for your other troop generators and Mage Guilds.

Heroes: Start with:
Attack: 1
Defense: 0
Power: 2
Knowledge: 2
Necromancers start with Basic Wisdom and Basic Necromancy. They can't learn Leadership either due to the undead conditions.
Necromancers start with spell books with Haste inside. Very dandy spell!

Creatures: All undead creatures (this includes Ghosts) have no morale, and are immune to mind spells (i.e. Blind) and Curse. Any living creature in the same army as the undead suffers morale penalties (maybe they don't like the smell. . . )
Skeleton: An above average level one, but their numbers are due to Necromancy. Can reach the thousands easily, especially when Peasants are involved.

Zombie/Mutant Zombie: The normal Zombie to too slow to be of use. At least the upgrade has Average speed. Their defenses aren't exactly good either. I don't usually recruit them, unless I really need to get a troop generator empty.

Mummy/Royal Mummy: The only time Mummies could be purchased in a town. Their cursing abilities are useful, particularly with the Royal Mummy with a 30% chance.

Vampire/Vampire Lord: Should be upgraded quickly: Life Drain will drive your enemies crazy. They also have no retaliation.

Lich/Power Lich: Being the Necromancer's only ranged unit, they need to be guarded. Their splash damage onto an area can help clear the area of creatures faster. Also faster than they look.

Bone Dragon: Lowers the morale of the enemy army by one. Their speed is a bit of a let down though. At least it deals high damage!

Strategy: Necromancer's advantage is in Necromancy. They have a hard start, but by the end, their Skeleton numbers should be very high. Benefit better on larger maps, where they can get the resources needed.

Necromancy is the Necromancer's main weapon, and should be utilized successfully for a good win. Get your Skeletons in high numbers, and the only thing standing in your way would be the Wizard and Warlock.

Necro is my favourite town. It needs boatloads of resources, but I play it, also hoping that ghosts will join me.
Creatures
LEVEL1: Skeleton.
Probably the best level one creature. Nice speed, damage and attack. You can get thousands of them with expert necro and necromancy amplifier (Price of loyalty)
LEVEL2: Zombie.
Huh? What? It sucks. Slow, lousy, skeletons can even beat it sometimes. That's the creature I leave while picking my army.
LEVEL3: Mummy.
Nice. Really nice. Cuursing your opponents most powerful creature is dreadful. Also nice stats and speed.
LEVEL4: Vampire.
Weak stats, but sucking the blood and no retaliate compensate for that. Quite nice birth rate.
LEVEL5: Lich.
The only shooter . Anyway, nice stats, good defence, but low HP. Multiple attack compensates. Always pick.
LEVEL6: Tank, eer... I mean bone dragon.
Get those guys quickly and you win. Their really mean ability and good stats provide you with nice assault unit. Plus, its cheap.

Exactly! The low price of the Bone Dragon, plus the higher birth rate makes them really useful. If at some point you gain access to multiple Necromancer towns and manage to gather a big army of those, you're going to be tough to stop. Pity that they don't have two-hex attack, and are vulnerable to nasty magics, like lightning bolts, but you can also haste them, bloodlust them and I think even Dragon Slayer them (not sure).

The good thing with Necromancer probably lies within the heroes.
The Necromancer Heroes always start of with the secondary skill Necromancy.
Now this may not seem like much, but later on in the later stages of the game, you may have about 1000+ skeletons under your control just because you had Necromancy.
It is a must have skill for any wanna-be Necromancer, and it is very useful to build up your ultimate Skeleton army.
Skeletons may not seem like much, but when you have hundreds of them, and when you cast 'haste' on them, they will be virtually unstoppable.
When you vs a Necromancer be careful of their Skeletons.
Zombies are weak, and personally I don't bother with them unless i'm in a desperate situation or need more units.
Mummies are the best ground unit for the Necromancer and they have good special skill.
Mummies have 25% chance to curse enemies and I think Royal Mummies have 305% chance. I forgot so just correct me on this if i'm wrong.
They are a good unit and you should not doubt them.
Vampire Lords are an extremely good unit.
When you have maybe more than 30 of them, Vampire Lords aree then hard to defeat.
Titans or Black Dragons can beat them pretty easy, but middle strngth units have a bit of a challenge on their hands when trying to defeat VL's.
Liches are the only ranged attacker for the Necro and they are a good unit to have.
They have the area strike thing which is good in some ways, and bad in other ways.
It is good because it can take out multiple enemies at the same time, and it is bad because if one of your units is right next to the target unit, then your unit will either get hurt or die, and that is never a good thing.
Bond Dragons are a good unit.
They have good growth rates, and they are second to Black Dragons in Raw Damage.
They give -1 morale to all enemy units while in combat, and that is good because your undead creatures are unaffected by morale, and that is bad becuase if you are versing an enemy Necro, then the Bone Dragons ability thing will be absolutely useless unless the enemy Necro has some living units in their army.

Mummies have 20 %. No, royal mummies do not curse three times (300% ???), they have 30% chance.

Necromancer is the best town type in HoMM2 not only because you can harvest thousands of skeletons, but because you can built your Laboratory and well in week 1. The Laboratory only needs Graveyard (sometimes prebuilt), Mage guild, Mausoleum and only five of each special resources which is much easier to collect than 20+ of one special resource. and once you start clearing the map on the second week with four bone dragons no force will possibly stop you!

My HoMM 2 town rankings
1.Necropolis
2.Warlock
3.Barbarian
4.Wizard
5.Knight
6.Sorceress

Sorry for that I had a typing error I meant to say that they have 35% but I am mistaken, thanks for that, they have 30% chance to curse target enemy unit.
