Best lev8 unit in HOMM3 WoG 3.58f
Hi here is a list of the creatures and their stats:
Supreme ArchAngel-
These units are probably one of the best in the entire game.
They have an exeptional damage of being 75, and their attack and defense skills are both 40, making them the highest of any of the lev8 units in the game.
They are really strong units to have in your army.
Their special skills during combat are:
+1(2) to morale, Ressurects twice, no fear and no enemy retaliation.
Their best skill is probably the ressurects twice thing as it will become extremely useful if you are versing high level units, such as ArchAngels or another lev8 unit.
They are good units to have in your army.
Diamond Dragon-
Diamond Dragons are good creatures and they are upgraded from the Gold Dragons, which their name may suggest  .
They are powerful with an attack and defense skill of both being 36.
They have a damage of 60-75 which is good and they have HPs of 500.
Their speed is 16, while not being the fastest unit in the game, they are still quite powerful.
Their special skills are:
Immune to all spells, no fear, can blind and +1 gem daily, which is good because if you have a Tower town aswell as your Rampart, then you can buy your Titans or upgrade them into Lords of Thunder.
Lords of Thunder-
Lords of Thunder are really good units and they are an upgraded version of the Titans which is really good to have in your army.
They have an attack and defense skill of both being 32 which is alright but not the best out of the lev8 units in the game.
They have a damage of 60-75 which is good, and their health is 600 which is really good and it is better than the Supreme ArchAngels as they only have HPs of being 500.
Their speed is 12 and that is ok but not the best, as most of the lev8 units are much faster than this.
Their special skills are:
Shhot twice, No melee penalty, No fear, Thunderclap, Air shield.
They have alot of special skills and they are all good, probably the best being that they shoot twice.
They are an excellent unit to have and one of the best in my opinion.
Hell Barons-
Hell Barons are good units to have in your army and they are quite powerful.
They have an attack skill of 35 and defense skill of 37.
They have a damage of being 45-60 and that is not the best for a lev8 unit, probably one of the worst.
They have a health of 400 and their speed is 17.
Their health is quite bad and they are proably one of the weaker units in the game.
Their special skills are:
-1(2) to enemy luck, no fear, takes soul, no enemy retaliation.
They are good skills to have and they are quite powerful because of them.
Their speed is good but their health is not.
Definately one of the weaker lev8 units in the game.
Blood Dragons-
Blood Dragons are the upgraded forms of Ghost Dragons.
They have an attack skill of 25 and a defense skill of 23. They are the worst out of all of the lev8 units in the game (the attack and defense I mean)
they have damage of 38-75 and that is alright, but their minimum of 38 is a bit bad.
Their max is equal to that of the Supreme ArchAngles and that is good.
They have the same HPs as the Hell Barons of being 400, and they have a speed of 14.
Definately one of the slower lev8 units, but they are faster than the Lords of Thnder.
Their special skills are:
undead, -1(2) to enemy morale, sucks blood and ages enemies.
They are all good, and they are powerful because of them.
They are a good unit to have in your army, but they can be a bit weak at times so watch out for that.
Darkness Dragons-
Darkness Dragons are the upgraded forms of the Black Dragons.
They are really powerful.
They have an attack and defense skills of both 33.
They have a damage of being 60-75 which is good, they have HPs of 600, and they have a speed of being 15.
They are really good units.
Their special skills are:
Immune to all Spells, Fearsome, Gets back, No Fear, Darkness.
Their best skill was probably the Gets back thing. What that means is when they attack an enemy creature they instantly return to their stating position from where they moved from, just like the Harpies do.
Their other good skill was probably the Immune to all spells, but that can have it's downsides aswell, as you can't cast any good magic on them such as Bless or Haste or Prayer, but the enemy can't cast any spells that will harm it, like Armaggedon or Disrupting Ray.
BTW when you have these Dragons in your army, use them with the spell Armaggedon, as your Dragons are immune to all spells Armaggedon won't affect them and they will not get hurt, and as for the enemy they will probably die or alot of their creatures will perish.
A good unit to have in your army, and remember the Armaggedon Combo.
Ghost Behemoths-
Ghost Behemoths are an excellent unit to have maybe a little slow for a lev8 unit but nonetheless they are good.
They have an attack and defense skill of both being 25.
They have a damage of 45-75, they have HPs of 600, and they have a speed of 11.
They are excellent units, but they don't have the bestr attack and defense skills and they are slow.
Their special skills are:
+1(2) luck, Ignores defence, Answers twice, and Ignores Obsticals.
The best skill is maybe the Answers twice or the Ignores Obsticals.
They are good units, but not the best so watch out for these if you have them in your army or you are versing them in combat.
Hell Hydras-
They have an attack skill of 25 and a defense skill of 27.
They have a damage of 38-68, HPs of being 500 and speed of 10.
They are the slowest lev8 units in the game so watch out for that.
Their special skills are:
Acid Attack, Can regenerate, No fear, and no enemy retaliation, and they attack all adjacent enemies.
Their best skill is probably the Regenerate skill as some of the AI likes to target these creatures alot.
They have the worst speed, so cast 'haste' on them when you can.
A good unit to have nonetheless.
Sacred Phoenixe-
They have an attack and defense skill of 28.
they have a damage of 40-60, HPs of 400 and a speed of being 21.
They are the fastest moving units in the game and should therefore be cherished.
Their special skills are:
Fire spell immunity, Slayer, Rebirth Always, Fire Shield.
Their skill of being immune to fire magic means that they are immune to Magic Arrow, even though Magic Arrow (even though Magic arrow is also in the Air spells, Earth and Water spells).
They are a good unit to have and they are quite powerful when in really high numbers.
So there are the units if I find out anything more I will eidt this post and let everyone know more of what I have discovered.
Edit:
These units can be bought from the map dwellings from where they are found, but if you have the option so that your lev7 units will become lev8 units when you end your turn, then it will be free and won't cost you any money.
When you do buy any of the lev8 units, they are however pretty dear, some units cost about 9000 gold and that is nearly the same as buying a Capitol which costs about 10000 gold, and that is a ripoff if you ask me.
Well they are worth it I suppose as they are extremely powerful and can beat virtually anything pretty easily, so In my opinion buy them when you can, and if you can't save up all of your money to buy them.
They are powerful, strong and they have really good special skills that work when you are in combat.
But take caution if your opponent has any of the lev8 creatures, if they do, do not battle them unless you have some really powerful lev7 units, or if you have a throng of lev1 or 2 units.
Lev8 units are worth buying so buy them whenever you can as they are twice as good as lev7 units.
Thanks for reading, if I find out anything else, I will edit this post again and I will let you know.
So what do you think is the best unit with this information that I have given to you.

Lvl8, they all suck, IMO. They are there just for people like you. I hope they will get removed when all the existing creature slots are full.
Werewolves, hellsteeds & such, now they are creatures!

I have to disagree, I like the 8th level creatures, but I prefer the new 8th level animations in BJ's patch, the ones in 3.58f are just too similar to the 7th level, just some new colours.

Yes Lev8 units are the best.
They look cool and they have the best stats out of any other creature in the game.
What would you rather have:
1000 Gogs
OR
50 Lords of Thunder or 50 Supreme Archangels.
Take your pick, I would rather the 2nd choice wouldnt you.

I don't enjoy level 8 creatures. They are just a bunch of level 7s with their looks recoloured and stats doubled. Quite dull and uncreative. If they were to be removed, we would get more room for extra towns and creative creature choices.

If you hadnt read the thread name, it is WoG creatures not the Armaggedons Blade or Shadow of Death creatures.

Actually, it's about lv8 WoG 3.58f creatures, which, of course, contain all the creatures from the previous versions. However, you stated that level 8s are better than any other creatures, which naturally is a wrong statement. That doesn't have anything to do with the name of the thread, by the way.

Regardless of the general quality of lev8 creatures, it must be pointed out that William forgets the best ability of the ghost behemoth, which really makes them shine. 100% defense reduction. Hoo-ah, my Crag Hack has 30 attack and a bunch of ghost behemoths! But what is that? Mephala with 50 defense and some diamond dragons. Gee, I wonder what happens now?

You said it brother   Ghost behemoths' ability to ignore armor makes them the best in such comparisons(not that they make any sense in the first place but oh well ... )

Well,if you could buy the lvl 8 creatures from their dwelings weekly,now that would be cool.Sure,they're a good addition,but all the waiting till u can build the Upg lvl 7 dweling,and till u get the lvl 8 dweling sucks.The other new creatures are cooler because u don't have to wait so much.Besides,even if u get a lvl 8 dweling,what if u don't have the right town type?
i think that the best lvl 8 creature is the Darkness Dragon.

You can check an option and the WoG dwellings will work just as any other dwelling in Heroes 3. It's in the first page of the WoG Options.

Hell Hydra is absolutely the best when stack experience system is on. With Tazar, they wash away everything, and crag hack's ghosties make them only laugh. They are TOO strong, in fact.
Examples?
-Fire shield. Bye bye, ghosties, 30 of them attack and 6 get killed by fireshield.
-Acid attack. You deal more and more damage every turn (def reduction), and the acid damage is so big that thanks to it, hell hydras beat even Supreme AA in terms of damage.
- The chance of deflecting damage. With tazar's monstrous defence, it often prevents any loses (and then regeneration heals it ~~)
- And the most important, all-around no retal attack, resulting in insane damage to many stacks while doing more damage to the selected via bonus acid damage.
- Have I mentioned extra retals? try to kill it with even LEGIONS of lvl 3-4-5 units, have fun when hydras deflect the damage, kill a lot of attackers with fire shield and destroy the rest+harm those around with their numerous retaliations.
besides, hell hydras win duels with any other 8th level units, and speed doesn't matter, since experienced ones travel to the other side of combat field in one turn anyway.
to make them even more fun, they can't be blinded or slowed. enjoy! 
believe me, I've tested many combinations of armies and heroes on custom duel maps with my friends, and tazar+hell hydras (backed up by mighty gorgons with hp boosting banners) demolished everything with ease - lords of thunder were just small flies on the wall.
OF COURSE with stack exp system off they can't reach the ammount of divinity they have when being on ace level, but they still pack quite a punch (although I have to agree that there are better 8th level units without the exp system - lords of thunder, especially)

Yes, hell hydra have potiential to deal the most damage for a level 8.
They are not desgined to duel one on one with another level 8. but can take down many units at once.
