hmm, maybe the problem is me or my friend, will ask a better question:
Has anyone played the new expansion on hamachi at all sucsessfuly , wo having major lag/disconnects ?

The game runs very smoothly on my machine:
OS: Vista Home Premium
Vid: GeForce 8800GTS 640mb DDR3
CPU: Pentium Core2Duo 2.4GHz
Mem: 2G DDR2
However...I have this problem I posted about in another thread: (was told this was the place I should discuss this further) (I was also told that this may be a problem introduced by patch 1.5 Unfortunately for me that means I will have to redo the level to try it on an earlier version..so, I will reinstall and beat the level again to see if it works and post back here when I do.)

Ive heard that there are people running this on Vista and it's working. I have patched the game and I hit the crash on 1.5 and 1.6 (cant try earlier versions since the save games crash while loading on earlier versions).
Ive tried changing the .exe to run with XP compatibility, and running it as admin. Ive even tried reinstalling, or using my wife's computer.
Is there anyway to edit the campaign save to unlock the next level so I can continue playing? or even better find a fix to this problem?

Ok, so I beat the level again using patch 1.41, and it worked correctly, no crash. Guess Ill just play with the outdated version.

Now that you've beaten the mission, you can patch back up to 1.6 again  .

You sure it wont bug out again on the next level? I dont want to have to keep doing levels twice. So, unless it's really always only that level, Ill stick with 1.41

Don't delete your save game folder when reinstalling and your saves should be OK.

backup the .exe? I dont know why you cant patch right now, but uninstalling and reinstalling wont make you lose your saves if you click "yes" when it asks if you want to keep user data. ALSO, you could just find your profile folder (Documents>MyGames on Vista) and copy that if you're really worried about it. (unless Im missing something, you dont really have any problem.

Hi dudes
My game seem to slow down to a crawl everytime the Titan alternates cast their special cloud ability...
Any idea to disable or make smoke less memory sucker??

I have the problem, cause I cracked the game...and I shouldn't. At least it was good to save the original .exe file. The patch doesn't work on cracked game
So I still need the file? Can somebody be kind enough to help me?
My philosophy on pirating:
Photoshop, Maya, Windows = pirate-away.
Games = BUY THEM they arent ridiculously expensive the way things like the software mentioned above, and buying them helps companies so we dont lose them (3DO for instances, or INTEPLAY (man I miss them)...BLACK ISLE). Pirating games is just stupid.

Yes, there is a very easy way at doing that. Just click onto the uninstall program designed for HoMM5-only. And, when asked if you want to keep your profile and saved games, make sure to click yes. Click no if it asks for deleting them, instead. I am using Vista, quite different from XP-SP2.

So, how do you make it run smoothly in you machine especially for ToE? I keep getting problem with DX9 (D3DX9_25.dll is missing). DX10 should be more than enough for ToE. Please help.

I dont know, maybe an update for DirectX could come with a different version then the newest? I know it sound stupid, but do as the one above me, search for that spesific file..
Or DL the very newest directX.. If it still dont work then perhaps your GFX is not compatible with the newest directX? But I mean, you dont run tote on a very old comp?

Extreme Lag
My friend and I are getting terrible lag when playing ToE multiplayer over Ubi.com or Hamachi. The most recent version of Hamachi (1.0.2.1) won't even work with it, so we're using 1.0.1.5, which does. There are 2-10 second delays a few times a minute and with Ubi.com, the connection just dies. Does anyone know how to keep a stable, fast multiplayer connection with ToE?

The original game and HoF ran smoothly for me on 1024x768 resolution, High model quality and finest anti aliasing and anistropic filtering. TotE runs smoothly too but with one problem, the menu... I think Nival has managed to create one of the most demanding menues iīve ever seen! Its a real pain being able to play the game with nearly the highest quality but nearly not being able to navigate in the menu because of the lagg...  I hope some patches will do the trick.

try enabling hardware cursor in the game options, it might speed up menu navigation

I've looked all over the forums and Google and still can't find an asnwer on how to get a non-laggy ToE multiplayer game over the Internet. Does anyone know how to get rid of the huge delays?

Hi, I tried to connect to Ubi.com for playing online, but it doesnīt work, because "Error 0.7.0" appears. I have original game, and I had registered my product, so I canīt figure out where is the problem. If I want to join Ubi server, game is initalizing, and than window with error appears. Someone faced same problem?
