Ah, the classic catch between being able to do more things per turn or being stronger in combat... I usually go for Logistics.
Luck doesn't show up very often for necromancers, unfortunately.

Play necro 10 times in a row in a normal map with no huts. Then do the same with sylvan and tell me if you noticed anything.

Luck has a whooping 2% chance to show up for necromancers, same as the useless leadership. You can manipulate the odds to some degree, but it's still hard to get.

I have probebly stupid questian (forget how you spell it and i know its worng )

How does the Dark energy work? Becouse you need alot of energy to earn the extra unit you get

I´m playing Tribes of the East campain and I am level 14 and have 448 energy I think, when I win a battle and want the unit I want, it cost 1300 or something like that

How do you earn more energy? More heroes? I know that you get more if you get another castle but its little hard also when you play multiplay and its not alot of necro castle

Dark Energy comes from your Necropolis towns and your Necromancers. There are also a few artifacts that boost your Necromancy skill.

By the way, you do know that you can split the stacks that you want to raise, right? So you can get a stacksize that you can raise with the energy you have.

Of course, low speed and initiative means that they will take the first blow. The extra toughness buys you the time to cast, either summons or curses. Necropolis' way is not to kill directly but survive and keep casting.

That said last stand is awesome If nothing else they will have to attack the units again rather than covering their bodies to prevent raising.

Interesting. Power of endurance isn't that bad either (extra defense on a mass spell).

Okay, I am relatively new to HoMM5 (as in I have played on a friends computer for 30 minutes, but am hooked (plan on getting it this weekend!)) so this may sound stupid to those who play with Necropolis with a passion.

I have been looking at the creatures for necro and I am not impressed.  I see that there are definitely awesome units (vampires and wraiths look awesome!) but it seems like such a slowwww army to chose.

When I was playing at my friends house, I was playing Dungeon.  I liked their range, speed and the relative strength they possessed. When I battled some of the AI necros, (I dont know if it was luck or not) but I slaughtered them.  My units ran curcles around their skeletons and zombies and I was able to kill the vampires with ease.

Am I just getting a bad impression of necro?  Or is this really a weak town?  I want someone to prove me wrong because I would love to play with masses of swaying undead!

Haha they used to be one of the strongest, I'd say they are balanced now. And no they are far from weak, the combination of improved necromancy with dark and summoning magic has interesting combinations. Yes they are a bit slow but that's because the spells do most of the work.

I agree with you. I've played necromancers for quite long some time ago and I' ve found that underestimated Summon Elemental is really handy while playing undead. You have lots of Spell Power and if you have luck- you'll summon wind elemental- which is very fast.
Moreover Master of Puppets and Conjure Phoenix with proper skills (as Master of Conjuration, exp dark and exp summ.) is just a killer combination (your opponent looses his/her best creature and, what's more, you have the strongest unit by your side).
That's just beatufil in my opinion...

That's the AI you're playing against. Supposed you switched side, you might be able to slaughter AI Dungeon with your Necros

Ok, I have another question.  I have been reading up on the necro creatures and am confused on the subject of Zombies.  Are they completely useless?  Are they decent tankers?  Are they good for beginning, middle or end game?

There seem to be as many people on this forum that say they are good as there are that say they are useless. Just from what I gathered, they are good for defending the skele archers and manning forts.
