I found a flaw in the skill wheel for the wizard. Luck skill is set Luck -> Soldier's Luck -> Tear of Asha Vision -> Spoils of War, however I just played a game where I got Spoils of War before I even had a chance to take the Tear of Asha Vision. Please confirm this.

Doomforge: Ok, the Luck is a great skill(to do huge damage is good), BUT a still thinking: Luck is not so good choice for academy hero. There are more useable skills for her/him.
Ok, the Resourcefullness and Spoils of War very usefull(extreamly for artifacer). To use the advantage, do a second hero, and go for Resuorcefullness.
Can you tell me how much res and gold could we find or gain with Res & Spoils?? An example please.


I play some game with Academy, and test the Mark of Wizard. Very funny skill(with Resurection, Phantom Force and Chain Lightning). BUT it's not that good: if i choose(Marked) a unit, a must wait a turn to cast again. Better to cast a spell and another with Sorcery (or Light with Mass effect)..i think. What's your opinion??
Another thing: Sap Magic + Protection is great!(as i said it yesterday) combined it with Artifacer(which raise creatures Magical Protection) our units simply unbeatable with spells (this is the end for Dungeon) If we have Armageddon it's a horrible combo: academy units gain 100-200 dmg, others 1000-1500

I think Mark of the Wizard is great ... Cast one Mass Spell, and shortly after that Mark of the Wizard ... If you have Ressurection, cast the Mark on the Archmages(or Titans if you them),if you don't place it on the most powerfull enemy stack. After that start blasting or ressurecting twice as powerfull ! I think it is worthed the wasted turn!

You must count in that dungeon probably have expert elemental chains = negates half of magic protection, so the reduction in damage from dungeon is only 35/2 = 17.5 % with those two skills.

Maybe its still good though. I never play academy so I cant tell.

use gargogeddon.. or golemgeddon.. err..

Obsidian gargs are immune to fire, golems with artifacts should be magic immune too.. If only they could survive long enough to erase whole enemy army with arma, that would be fun to watch ^_^

are you sure about that Izzachar?! I think it only applies to creature protections ... than again I didn't play dungeon enough to know or test... that just my understanding of the skill!

Can Mark of Wizard be used with destructive spells? When I tested this with v1.2, it seems like destructive magic cannot be used with Mark.It has no problem with fist of wrath or decay though.

As I only play single player games, my strategy is using the mark with resurrection and phantom forces. Together with sorcery, this strategy can churn out a huge army before you may even realise it.

I thought that magic mirror may be a good way to protect your clones, but does magic mirror affects fireball and meteor showers as well?

Nope, magic mirror 'only' affects spells that target a stack directly. So Area Of Effect-spells are in luck.

I must say, if AoE-spells would've been affected by Magic Mirror, this skill would immediately get overpowered (even though it doesn't always get deflected at your enemies)

If you start with a Town level 2 (Fort built), how do you build your Academy town in the first week?

I would like to have:
Tavern, Gremlin Workshop, Gremlin Manufactory, Blacksmith, (town level 1)
Golem Forge, Stone Parapet, Mage Guild 1 (town level 3)
Mage Tower, Town Hall (town level 6)

As you see, I cannot have everything. What is your build?

I almost always skip golems as they may cause you not to build genies and rakshasas in time.And believe me you'd rather build them both in week 2,the extra golems are not worth it and can wait for a while.If you do have the resources you won't build a town hall.It requires lvl 6 so if you leave it for the 1st day of week 2 you'll have lost just 1500 gold.

But you loose actually 2500 gold if you build Town Hall on 1st day of week 2, because it is day 9 - City Hall would be available if you had built Town Hall earlier. That would make you build City Hall on day 10.

Skipping Blacksmith & Golems is an option as it releases 2 buildings which is needed. I have done it occasionally myself too, saves Mercury for Genies.

That actually seems rather bugged, or VERY unrealistic. Removing a necro's immunity to decay is just plain bad, a cloak can't make an undead living and thus vulnerable to decay. Same for Titan's or Golem's immunity to mind spells.

They should fix that.

I like all the factions in Homm5 but i have to say those wizards from academy are some of the hard nasty heroes. They are wizards with good blocking spells abilities and hight power and mana.They are like wizards against wizards and against might heroes.
The creatures arent that good without artifacts on them (maybe just ratasha ne enemy retaliation!! unupgraded!!) Honestly I dont know what academy strategy can be...they can be very versatile when it comes to tactics and battles because they depend soo much on heroes and map.And those golems gosh...Cant be beaten with magic and they are quite good when are in the white's wizard guy army(I presume is a golem specialist. Academy always give me that fear when it comes to play against them.I honestly belive that the best heroes are academy ones.

Galib vs dungeon

Yesterday I was playing a really interesting game vs skilled dungeon player. And I decided to go with Galib. In the end it turned out to be  my best choice over recent 3 years : )
His magic mirror is really a kind of killing thing! My oponnect cast an 1690 implosion and it hit his blackies...he intended to kill 8 titans, and he wiped out 5 blackies instead..
next time, again aiming at titans, his lightning erased his Grim Raiders. The whole stack of it!!!
So, if you are playing vs dungeon i advise You guys to pick galib, soldiers luck, magic resistance, some arties with magic immunity, and destructive magic->master of fire->sap magic, and cast armageddon over and over....with all those skills you have like 90% magic immunity, which is of course negated by irresistible magic, but still there is a mirror! and it will win u a batlle.

Sounds nice but no smart player will cast 1-target spells vs academy. Aoe is the way.
