Fighting only with dryads, druids and treants...?

Is this really enough?

My own sylvan , personally i would avoid building treants at all , even if i happen to have the dwelling, will throw them away for final battle.

Also skip learning defence

On small maps now, imbue destructive/rain of arrows  with the high druids is good. Big maps, mass haste, mass r.might if u get them.
Skip destructive for attack

Against orcs, opt for master hunters instead of arcane archers, shot no.1, remove rage, shot no.2, full damage Not really tested yet

Creeping with sylvan = druids, sprites and hunters. Don't need others really.
The real problem is fighting druid elders and archmages early, i mean .. around week1 or early week2, try to avoid, the rest is no problem in early games, need to play the luring with squires and minotaurs, and with golems and zombies, that shld be easy.

Favourite heroes , ossir, wyngaal, ylthin, vinrael
Love the rest for their abilities, but hate their starting skills

Yes, in normal game () I'd rather skip defense too, but I'm trying playing a fast game with sylvan. Maybe soon I'll even try to rush with them. Sylvan's heroes have high knowedge, which opens the door to use Summon Creatures.

Resistance is Dwarven best friend, taking luck is obvious and Dwarven Luck makes enemy spells fail even more. Imo its needed pretty much, with Fortress turtling playstyle.

If any faction doesnīt need resistance that much, its Sylvan imo. First strike decimates enemy army, and besides, your hero has nice Knowledge and easy access to Light Magic to cleanse dark magic. Ofc resistance comes handy, but Elven Luck is much more effective for Sylvan tactics, and Resourcefullness fulfills its purpose too (Crystals, Gems, Wood). Soldierīs Luck doesnīt work wonders, but can help in case of using Unis. But in Ossirs case, lack of Elven Luck is substituted by insane power of Arcane Archers. Anyway, he is not my favourite.

I'll regret this...       ...but I play with master hunters, those arcane archers are killing all the fun for me

Thanks for sharing your thoughts guys.
Yesterday, playing through LAN with my dungeon friend, I noticed that he was creeping 1-2 day 1st week, when I was forced to wait whole week for upgraded hunters. But with them creeping 2nd and next weeks was pretty easy with only minor loss of pixies and blade dancers (good initiative was extreme help!)

After that, I think that druids are not neccesary for early creeping, upgraded hunters are enough during 1st and 2nd week. So I would aim for Hunters Lodge first. If Stone Circle is possible, thunderbolt of master druids could be a great help against stronger creatures like hydras.

What bother me the most is practically impossible creeping without shooting units so that would be several days of doing almost nothing. But later is much easier.

You wouldn't win a single game with a good player if you wasted the whole first week, I'm afraid.

You're right, but these are my troubles with Sylvan.

For example playing Academy that is not a problem to go creeping 1st day  cuz we got gremlins and some gargoyles to cover them.
Necropolis - we make skeleton archers 1st or 2nd day, we already got zombies to cover and we can go.
Same with Dungeon.

But Sylvan shooting unit is 3rd level creature. So any early day rush for wood mine means huge losses. I know this is a must but this is annoying.

And of course -doing nothing- is not really doing nothing, scouting and taking free resources is basic but I still got impression that I slack instead of taking gem mine like usually do

Creep with magic or warmachines. First week shooter-creeping died at heroes3.

The Ranger Hero is: an already shooting attacker. So, instead of using spells, you use him/her as a very good shooting asset.

The ballistae and first-aid tent are a good way to shoot those level ones guarding the sawmill and the orepit, while the latter heals the minor wounds of your level 2 creatures.

Here's what I generally do on day one of my Sylvan village: Hire another Ranger Hero with plenty of extra troops added to my first batch of starting troops of my very first Hero then, build the Blacksmith and, buy the ballistae and first-aid tent for the best hero that might have an artifact already. The Hero with only one soldier goes out and starts picking the laid down ressources nearest to the village(treasure chests, if near enough, also included) and, the day one army goes out with the Hero that already has them with the destination of capturing rather the sawmill or the orepit(most likely to happen in a Tiny or Small map scenario).

wait... wait... we miss something here. Haven't u heard of the words SPRITE and WASP SWARM? Easy way to take on thos lvl 1 neutrals.

Better don't waste a day building Blacksmith, because it requires WOOD. Better build something like town hall or mage guild and upgrade sprites. Many things that are just more productive.

Not to mention the cost of warmachines at that stage of the game (would be better to pick up a hero who already has a ballista. Anyway the best thing for new Sylvan players is to ignore such good tips.

You can creep with pixies when facing level 1 neutrals IMHO it's not even necessary to upgrade them right away (better save some wood if order to get the most important dwellings first).

Luc strikes again. Ballista and First Aid Tent? Sure, the First Aid tent healing 10 points of damage will do you MUCH good. Or what about the ballista, dealing some 10 points of damage with your level 1 Hero? Of course, War Machines skill will help you, but wait - only 2 % chance of showing up - not much of a winning strategy there. And wow, those big amounts of extra troops the other hero comes with will sure save your life - on EASY difficulty, perhaps, or when creeping peasants.

Oh, and haha, the best one yet? THe very usefull shooting asset of the Ranger hero ... don't kill me, man! Haven't you yet figured out that the "shooting" asset is a plain animation thing? The Ranger will do no more, and no less, damage than ANY other hero, "ranged" or not. This is not Heroes 4. Oh, and those 2 level 1 creeps he takes out in one shot will surely save you in creeping.
